Kinderfeets KF Climbing Ladder User Manual
Please read the entire manual before using your Kinderfeets toy.
Thank you very much!
The Kinderfeets Climbing Ladder sways and moves dynamically with each step—encouraging the development of sensory skills, core strength, balance, coordination, gross motor skills, and vestibular orientation.
Wooden rope locks, nylon hanging straps, and carabiners ensure the swing is
stable and child-safe. Each ladder is crafted using responsibly-sourced
birchwood,
beechwood and natural rope and finished with nontoxic waterbased lacquer.
Note: The Kinderfeets Climbing Ladder is for home use only and should always be used under adult supervision. Do not use it on hills, cliffs, ledges, busy streets, near open flames or sources of intense heat. Avoid using in adverse weather conditions such as wet weather, wind, or extreme temperatures. Store indoors when not in use.
WARNING! Must be installed by an adult. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult while using this product.
Use safely!
Please read these instructions before using your Kinderfeets toy. This is a
hanging and moving toy that should be used with care at all times to avoid
injury. We do not accept any responsibility for possible accidents or damage
due to failure to follow the safety guidelines in this manual.
- This ladder is designed to hold one child at a time. Do not let additional children climb or swing while another is present.
- Recommended for children ages 3 years and older. Common sense should be used to assess a child’s size and ability to use this toy safely.
- Designed to support child weight up to 60 kg (132 lb).
- Must always be used under adult supervision.
- Avoid jumping, bouncing, swinging or twisting on the ladder. Ladder is meant for climbing only.
- Always inspect the ladder before use to check safety and stability.
- Frequently inspect all parts of the ladder—particularly the rope, rope locks, straps and hanging material for signs of wear, cracking, damage, or defects.
- If a safety risk is identified in a rope, rope lock, strap, or hanging material, remove and replace immediately.
- Keep packaging away from children to avoid injury or suffocation.
Outdoor use
- The ladder must always be placed under shelter, properly protected from rain, fire, heat, or direct sunlight.
- Always store indoors when not in use.
- Sun and moisture will cause changes in materials, which may appear as fractures or slight changes in color or shape.
Precautions: Before using your Kinderfeets toy, please check that it is
undamaged, assembled correctly and that all screws and parts are securely
fastened. Check it regularly for signs of wear, cracking, damages or defects.
A damaged toy should no longer be used.
Clean your Kinderfeets toy using a mild cleaning agent, clean water and soft
cloth.
Always store your Kinderfeets toy indoors in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location—especially in a tropical or subtropical climate, or any location subject to high humidity and/or high rainfall. Do not store it in a location where water condensation can build up overnight (such as in a shed or on a balcony outside); or in an area with high humidity (such as a bathroom or laundry room with a condensation dryer).
Adjusting the height
The 2 wooden Rope Locks are used for adjusting height; adjust both to the
same height to ensure symmetry. Be sure the ladder is hung high enough so your
child can use it freely.
To raise the ladder (fig.1): Move the Rope Lock DOWN the rope by pulling
rope through from hole A to hole B until the desired height is reached.
To lower the ladder (fig. 2): Move the Rope Lock UP the rope by pulling
rope through from hole B to hole A until the desired height is reached.
After
each adjustment, always check that the rope’s end is securely tucked
underneath the looped rope passing between holes A and B on the rope
locks—with a minimum length of 4 cm (1.5 in) extending beyond the looped
portion.
Installation guidelines
Adults must install this ladder and verify structural integrity prior to allowing children to use it. For safety, Kinderfeets hanging gym toys should not be attached by any other method that is not indicated in this manual.
-
Choose a location with plenty of space and soft ground underneath.
A shock-absorbing padding under the ladder is recommended. -
Please seek professional installation for any hardware such as ceiling hooks or horizontal bars that the ladder will be attached to.
C If expansion screw ceiling hooks are used, the Carabiners may be attached directly to them instead of the straps.
D If horizontal bars are used, the Hanging Straps can be attached around the bar. -
Test the ladder for stability and symmetry before use. Check all rope locks, straps, carabiners, and/or hanging materials.
WARNING! Make sure the area used for hanging is stable and able to support
the weight of a child in motion.
Test the load bearing capacity of the supporting structure by applying a
downward force exceeding the product’s weight limit (60 kg / 132 lb) for an
extended period. Carefully check that testing has not damaged or weakened the
integrity of the supporting structure.
