1. Introduction Safety Instructions
PLEASE READ THIS OWNER’S MANUAL COMPLETELY BEFORE OPERATING THIS UNIT AND STORE THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
- Do not use this product near water or moisture.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning.
- Place the unit on a solid surface.
- Do not put it in a closed bookcase or a cabinet that may keep air from flowing through its ventilation openings.
- Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances that produce heat.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs and the point where they exit from the product.
- Servicing is required when the product has been damaged.
- Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other hazards.
- Please contact the manufacturer to be referred to an authorized service center near you.
- To prevent risk of fire or electric shock, avoid over loading wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles.
- Do not let objects or liquids enter the product.
- Use proper power sources. Plug the product into a proper power source, as described in the operating instructions or as marked on the product.

UNDERSTANDING THE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
QUICK SETUP
Fully extend the Telescopic antenna to ensure good reception in both DAB and
FM Radio modes. It may be necessary to alter the position of the DAB Digital
Radio and/or the Telescopic antenna to achieve the best signal.

Connect the power cable to the input in the side of the PR2 and then plug the cable into an outlet or insert the four “AAA” batteries into the battery compartment to power on.

Fully extend the rear telescoping antenna.

Press the Power button on the front to turn the PR2 on.

When powered on for the first time in DAB mode, the PR2 will initiate an auto scan. When complete,
The display will indicate how many stations were received. Be sure the rear antenna is fully extended during the auto scan. -
Press the front panel Source button to select the desired source.

Adjust the volume to the desired level using the rotary knob at the side.

ln DAB mode, the TUNE+/TUNE- button allows you to navigate between different stations. Push ENTER knob to choose the stations you want to listen to.
GUIDE TO FEATURES
1. POWER (Turn ON/OFF/STANDBY):
- Push to power the PR2 On or Off (Standby). When powered on for the first
time in DAB mode, It will automatically scan for the available radio stations
to fig.1.
2)When your PR2 is using power adapter, press POWER button to switch ‘on’ and ‘standby’ to fig.2. Unplug the power adapter to turn off your PR2 completely.
3)When your PR2 is using batteries, press POWER button to switch ‘on’ and ‘off’.
2. SOURCE: Briefly press to cycle through the sources: DAB, FM. - In FM mode, PR2 will tune to the start of the available FM range (87.50MHz) or the last FM station listed to fig.3. 2) To manually change the FM frequency, Flg.3 make sure that you have not selected any other sub-menus. Turn the TUNE+/TUNE to change the frequency by 0.05MHz.
3. ALARM/SCAN: Briefly press alarm button to cycle through Alarm 1 setup and
Alarm 2 setup, Rotate and press the Volume knob in to adjust and set the hour
and minutes and press in to set and move to the next setting.
In DAB/FM mode, press and hold SCAN button, ii will automatically scan for the
available radio stations.
4. PRESET: Preset 20 DAB stations and 20 FM Favorite stations.
- Store a station to the preset list – to store a station, selected your
desired radio station, then press and hold the PRESET button for a seconds
until the LCD display “Preset store #:(Empty)” to fig.17, or”#: saved radio
station” to fig.18. There are 20 DAB presets and 20 FM presets 2) Either press
the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select your desired station preset number, Push on
the ENTER button to confirm your selection, the display will show “Preset#
Stored” to fig.19.
Recall a station from the Preset list
To recall a preset station, press the “PRESET” button once, or rotate the TUNE+/TUNE – button to select presets station that you have stored. When the display shows your desired preset number push ENTER button to confirm.
Note: If you choose a preset that hasn’t been allocated a station, then “Empty” will be displayed.
5. Menu/Info: When in DAB mode, briefly press repeatedly to view DLS (Dynamic Label Segment), signal strength, PTY (Programme Type), ensemble, frequency, signal quality, bit rate codec, time, date. In FM mode, view radio text, PTY (Programme Type), PS (Programme Service), stereo/mono, time, date etc.
6. TUNE+/TUNE- : Choosing radio stations or options If the PR2 is in DAB
mode, press TUNE+/TUNE- button to cycle through the radio station list when
you are listening.
Or press TUNE+/TUNE- button to cycle through the menu list for options.
If the PR2 is in FM mode, press TUNE+/TUNE- button to manually adjust the
frequency by 0.05MHz. Or you can press and hold TUNE+/TUNE- button to auto-
scan stations. Or press TUNE+/TUNE- button to cycle through the menu list for
options.
7. VOLUME +NOLUME- button: Turn the Volume dial to increase or decrease the volume. The volume knob may also be used to navigate when in the station List.
DAB mode
-
If the DAB Digital Radio is in DAB mode, press and hold MENU/INFO button to enter the menu list to fig.4. Press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select option through the list of menu. Then, stop at your preferred option and Push the ENTER
button to confirm. The menu options are: full scan, manual tune, DRC, prune, system. -
Full scan – under menu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select “Full scan “through the list of menu, Push ENTER button to confirm and full scan starts automatically to fig.4. Once a scan is completed, the radio returns to play the
previously-selected station or first station on the station list.
Note: if no radio station found, it shows “No DAB station”. For a better reception, extend the antenna or do the full scan again in another place. -
Manual tune – as well as the normal method of scanning, you can also manually tune to a particular channel/frequency. This can be useful for adjusting your antenna to achieve the best possible reception and scanning a particular channel to update the station list. Under menu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE-button to select “Manual tune” through the list of menu, Push ENTER button to confirm. Then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select a particular channel/frequency and then Push ENTER button to confirm the setting to fig.5.
The display shows a live indication of the received signal strength on the selected frequency. Adjustments to your antenna will be manifested in the received signal strength displayed. -
DRC (Dynamic range compression) I I – this function reduces the difference DAB between the loudest and quietest audio be ing broadcast. Effectively, this makes quiet sounds comparatively louder and loud sounds comparatively quieter.
Options: off (default)/high/low under menu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select “DRC” through the list of menu,
Push ENTER button to confirm. Then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select a particular setting and Push ENTER button to confirm the setting to fig.6.
Note: DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster for a specific station. -
Prune – this removes all invalid stations indicated in the station list with a ‘?’ in front of the station name. Under menu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE button to select “Prune” through the list of menu, Push ENTER button to confirm to fig.7. Then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select
, and Push ENTER button to confirm. -
System – the System menu options are: sleep, time, backlight, language, factory, reset, SW version to fig.8.
6.1 Sleep – when listening to the radio Flg. B you can set a period of time before the radio enters ‘standby’ mode.
Note: the radio must be active and not in ‘standby’ mode already. Under the system menu, press the TUNE+/TU button to select “Sleep” through the list of menu, press ENTER button to System confirm to fig.9. Then press the TUNE+/TUNE button to select < sleep off 115mins / 30mins / 45mins / 60mins 190mins >, and Push ENTER button to confirm.
6.2. Time – if there is any DAB+ radio signal, the machine will automatically update the time, there is no signal, can also be set manually to fig.10. Set Time/Date: set hour/ set minute I set month / set date>set year > saved Auto update options: update from Any/ update from DAB/ update from FM/ no update Set 12/24 hour: 12hour/24 hours Set date format: DD-MM-YYYY/MM-DD-YYYY Cycle through Time menu by Push the ENTER button, select a particular option, and Push the ENTER button changes.
6.3. Backlight – this radio display has a backlight which can be adjustable. You can select the time out of the display backlight of your radio. Under the system menu, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select System Backlight Flg ,11 “Backlight” through the list of menu, Push the ENTER button to confirm to fig.11. You can now use the TUNE+/TUNE- button, then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select < 10sec I 20sec I 30sec / 45sec I 60sec I 90sec I 120sec 1180sec I On>, and Push ENTER button to confirm.
6.4. Language – the language used for display messages can be selected from below options: English I Francais I Deutsch I Norsk I Nederlands Under System
6.5. Factory Reset – this function clears all user defined settings, replacing them with the original default values, so time/date, preferences/settings, DAB station list and preset stations are all lost. Under the system menu, press System
FM mode

If the PR2 is in FM mode, press and hold MENU/INFO button to enter the menu list to fig.15. Press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to select option through the list of menu. Then, stop at your preferred option and Push the ENTER button to confirm.
The menu options are: scan setting, audio setting, and system. -
Scan setting – by default, FM scans stop at any available station (All stations). This may result in poor quality audio from weak stations.
Options: Strong stations only/ All stations FM under menu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE-button to select a particular option in “Scan setting”, then Push the ENTER button to confirm the change to new setting to fig.15. -
Audio setting – by default, all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, this may result in poor quality audio. The audio quality can be improved using mono. Options: Stereo allowed I Forced mono Under menu list, press the
TUNE+/TUNE- button to select a particular option in “Audio setting” to fig.16, then Push the ENTER button to confirm
the change to new setting. It will automatically change to new setting after 3 seconds. -
System – Please refer to above description point 6 “System”.
