STAINMASTER® WATERPROOF LAMINATE FLOORING WARRANTY INFORMATION
LIMITED WARRANTY : LIFETIME RESIDENTIAL / STAINMASTER 5-YEAR / PET
PROTECT 10-YEAR LIGHT COMMERCIAL
All STAINMASTER LAMINATE FLOORS are warranted to the original purchaser, from
date of purchase, when installed in dry interior applications as follows:
- The product will be free of manufacturing defects
- The decorative laminate surface will not wear through. (See surface wear definition below)
- The surface of the product will resist staining under normal household conditions
- The surface of the product will not fade or discolor due to natural or artificial lighting
- The product will not be damaged from topical moisture due to normal wet mopping and everyday household spills under normal residential use conditions when installed and maintained as outlined in the product’s installation and use and care guidelines for a period of up to 72 hours.
STAINMASTER Pet ProtectTM Lifetime Residential Limited Warranty:
In addition to the above warranty coverage, STAINMASTER Pet Protect LAMINATE FLOORS are warranted as follows:
- The product will resist pet stains (urine, feces, vomit) that have not dried on the floor when thoroughly cleaned. Cleaning of the affected area should begin immediately upon discovery.
- The product will resist moisture damage from topical pet urine under normal residential use conditions when installed and maintained as outlined in the product’s installation and use and care guidelines for a period of up to 72 hours. Cleaning of the affected area should begin immediately upon discovery.
The Lifetime Residential Limited Warranty applies to installations in single
family dwellings.
The STAINMASTER 5-Year / Pet Protect 10-Year Light Commercial Limited Warranty
applies to installations in the following environments:
- Retail (art galleries, jewelry stores, boutiques/clothing stores, gift shops)
- Medical (doctors’ offices, waiting rooms, reception areas)
- Hospitality (hotel rooms, conference rooms)
- Education (classrooms)
- Office/Corporate (offices, reception areas, training rooms)
Common use high traffic areas in both, multi-family residential and commercial
settings are not covered under this limited warranty. Examples of such
environments include hallways in apartment buildings, elevators, lobbies, etc.
The floor must be installed and maintained in accordance with the instructions
that accompanied the product. Installation instructions can also be obtained
through Lowe’s or by calling
1-800-438-7668.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY:
This limited warranty does not cover defects caused by improper sub-
floor/surface preparation, improper installation, or an improper application
(proper installation is assumed to include a moisture test to ensure excessive
moisture does not exist in the subfloor). For installations on concrete
subfloors, below grade level or in moisture-prone areas, a suitable moisture
barrier must be used to validate the limited warranty.
This limited warranty does not cover damage due to improper installation,
cleaning, care or maintenance in a manner contrary to the instructions as
provided, physical abuse to or misuse of the product, accidents causing
scratching, marring, impact dents or cutting, freight damage, modification,
alterations of either chemical or physical characteristics, repair or service
of the product other than that performed by an authorized dealer, or any wear
or damage caused by acts of God.
Surface wear must be visible from a standing position (i.e., cover an
area greater than ½ square inch). Gloss or sheen reduction is not surface wear
and is not covered by this limited warranty.
This STAINMASTER® laminate flooring, and STAINMASTER Pet Protect limited
warranty does not apply to moisture or water damage caused by flooding,
leaking appliances or pipe damage resulting from water underneath the
flooring, or other conditions that cause the floor to become saturated with
water beyond everyday household spills. STAINMASTER® laminate flooring limited
warranty does not apply to moisture or water damage caused by pet urine.
STAINMASTER® laminate flooring and STAINMASTER Pet Protect laminate flooring
is considered waterproof, which under the terms of this limited warranty are
defined to mean topical water/moisture will not infiltrate plank seams for a
period of up to 72 hours. All spills must be cleaned immediately and
thoroughly.
This limited warranty does not apply to damage caused by water or moisture in
the subfloor or underneath the flooring, including but not limited to damage
from subfloor hydrostatic pressure (water or moisture under the floor that is
transmitted to the surface through exerted pressure) or other conditions that
result in water or moisture below the floor. This warranty excludes damage
resulting from mold and/or mildew growth due to prolonged exposure to
moisture. This limited warranty covers damage to the flooring planks only due
to everyday household/localized water spills for a period of up to 72 hours.
Moisture related damage to any part of the home, including its structure,
walls, subfloor, fixtures, furniture, etc. is not covered. Planks must be
checked carefully for material defects before and during installation and
under sufficient lighting. Flooring installed with visible defects are not
covered under this limited warranty.
LIMITED WARRANTY TERMS
In the event that you have a warranty claim, it must be made in writing within
thirty (30) days after the basis for the claim has been detected. To make a
claim, contact the STAINMASTER warranty team at
1-800-438-7668 or by email at
STAINMASTER@lowes.com. Proof of purchase is required. If a claim under this
Limited Warranty is approved, the manufacturer will repair or replace at its
option, the affected flooring material. This limited warranty covers repair
and replacement of affected materials only up to a value prorated for the time
elapsed since the floor was purchased. Labor costs related to installation of
product containing obvious visual defects are not covered under this limited
warranty. Replacement plank(s) will be in the original décor if available and
of equal or greater value if the original is not available. Replaced planks
are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period. The above
remedy is the customer’s sole and exclusive remedy for claims under this
warranty.
The manufacturer does not authorize any person to create for it any other
obligation or liability in connection with this product. This warranty is not
transferable. It extends to the original end-consumer.
MANUFACTURER DISCLAIMS, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY FEDERAL AND STATE
LAW, ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED;
INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY AS TO MERCHANTABILITY OR
FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
NEITHER MANUFACTURER NOR LOWE’S WILL BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL,
SPECIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW FOR THE EXCLUSION OF
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS EXCLUSION OF CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES MAY NOT
APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY HAVE
OTHER RIGHTS THAT MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. THIS WARRANTY CONSTITUTES THE
ENTIRE AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES, AND NO WAIVER OR AMENDMENT SHALL BE VALID
UNLESS IN WRITING AND SIGNED BY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES OF MANUFACTURER.
