TROUBLESHOOTING / FAQ

  1. The pilot fire will not stay lit.
SOLUTION: Check the two pilot wires are properly connected to the module “S” and “I” terminals on the control module. Also, replace batteries in valve kit. (Figure 5)

  2. The main burner does not turn on:
SOLUTION : Check (hear) if any pilot sparks when turning ON, or replace batteries.

  3. Check if the gas supply is turned on. Check the two pilot wires are properly connected to the module “S” and “I” terminals on the control module. (Figure 5)Or pair the WiFi smart home control box again.

  4. Or check your ODS pilot (low Oxygen in room) if your fireplace has one, and the Oxygen level is too low in this room.

  5. Can I convert my valve kit from NG to LPG (or LPG to NG) fitting?
ANSWER: No. Since the gas valve and pilot orifice are different, also modification by user is not allowed for safety reason. We recommend purchasing corresponding Durablow valve kit models meeting your needs & gas supply type. For example: There are two models of 6VK-SH3001 series which are the NG model (6VK-SH3001-NG), and the LPG model (6VK-SH3001-LP).

  6. How do I know if this valve kit works with my fireplace / log set?
ANSWER: This electronic spark to pilot valve kit is intended for use with VENTED gas logs and not with a manufactured fireplace (insert). Any glass doors must be open during use, and it is compatible with 18″ to 30″ wide log sets. Make sure there is enough room for valve kit. (Figure 4)

  7. Does this valve kit have an automatic pilot to save gas when fireplace is not in-use?
ANSWER: Correct. There is no “Standing Pilot” fire running all the time when system is NOT in-use. Each time you turn on your fireplace it will then light your pilot fire. Just make sure the gas line is on for the season. For safety reason, pilot fire will stay lit when fireplace is in-use and main flame is on.

  8. How to disable the Valve Kit if house is not attended?
ANSWER: Remove batteries from battery pack in valve kit, and unplug the power supply of WiFi smart home control box.

  9. Can this system be used outdoors?
ANSWER: No. It is NOT designed for outdoor use, and it is not rainproof.
