DANGER Risk of suffocation!
Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets — these materials are
a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.
WARNING Risk of fire!
To prevent fire, do not cover or obstruct the ventilation openings. Do not
mount in zero-clearance compartment. Overheating may result.
Ensure that at least 2” (5 cm) of clearance around the product.
WARNING Risk of electric shock!
Do not expose to rain.
NOTICH The output of this device is not sinusoidal.
It has a total harmonic distortion of 33 per cent and maximum single harmonic
of 25 per cent.
- Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
- Route the cables of the devices connected to the product so that they do not interfere with the driver of the vehicle.
- Never leave the product unattended during operation.

- Donot attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
- Do not open the product housing. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the housing.
- Product must only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the product.
- The housing of the product can reach 140 °F (60 °C) after extended high power operation. Keep the product away from materials that could be affected by high temperatures.
- The product creates a voltage that is not sinusoidal.
Do not use the product with the following equipment:
– Small, battery-operated appliances such as rechargeable flashlights, shavers or nightlights that are plugged into an AC receptacle to recharge. The device can be damaged if connected to the product. Always recharge batteries using a separate battery charger.
– Battery chargers for battery packs used with power tools.
Intended Use
- This product is intended to convert an extra low voltage 12 V (direct current) to the conventional 115 V (alternating current). Do not attempt to connect the product to any other power source, including any AC power source.
- This product is intended to be used in a vehicle to operate different types of devices that use AC power such as portable music player, digital camera, cellphone, tablet and laptop.
- Do not connect the product to a battery that has a nominal output other than 12 V. The product could be damaged if connected to batteries below 6 V or above 16 V.
- This product is not intended for professional use.
- This product is not intended to be used in connection with life support systems or other medical equipment or devices.
Operation
NOTICH Disconnect the lighter plug (D) from the lighter socket whenever
the engine is switched off for extended periods of time. In some vehicles, the
power does not turn off after the engine has been switched off.
If the product is left connected, the vehicle battery might become discharged
or damaged.
NOTICE The product works best with a battery that is in good condition
and fully charged.
NOTICE Disconnect the product before starting the engine. Starting the
engine triggers the low-voltage shutdown feature of the product.
Checking wattage of the devices to be connected
CAUTION Risk of damage! Make sure that the total wattage of the devices to
be connected does not exceed the maximum load of the respective outlet. The
product automatically shuts down in the event of a power overload.
NOTICE When the connected device switches on, there is an initial surge
of power (i.e. “starting load” or “peak load”). Once started, it requires less
power to operate (i.e. “running load”). Always check the starting and running
loads of the devices before connecting to the product to prevent overload
shutdown.
See the table below for the estimated wattage required for different devices.
Check the actual wattage requirements on the rating label and in the operating
instructions of devices to be used.
Device | Watts required |
---|---|
Portable music player, digital camera | 10W |
Cell phone/Tablet | 20-30 W |
Laptop | 60 W |
Take the surge wattage (i.e. starting load) required into consideration as well as the rated wattage (i.e. running load). See below table as example for adding up the total wattage of devices to be powered.
Device | Surge (starting) wattage | Rated (running) wattage |
---|---|---|
Cell phone | 10W | 10W |
Laptop | 50 W | 50 W |
Total wattage | 60 W | 60 W |
NOTICE
The wattage might not be listed on the devices to be connected. In that
case, calculate the wattage using the equation “VOLTS x AMPERE = WATTS”
- Formula: 115 Volts x X Amperes = XXX Watts
- Example: 115 Volts x 0.5 Amperes = 60 Watts
Using the product (Fig. 1)
NOTICE When using the product continuously inside a vehicle that is not
running, the engine should be started at least once 3-4 hours for 10-15
minutes to keep the battery from discharging.
NOTICE
The USB port (A) provides only 5 V ****/ 2.1 A power to an external USB-
powered device.
- Connect the cigarette lighter plug (D) to the lighter socket of the vehicle. Make sure the plug is fully inserted. The indicator (B) lights up green.
- Plug in the devices to be operated to either the outlet (C) or the USB port (A).
- Disconnect the cigarette lighter plug (D) from the lighter socket after use.
Fuse Replacement (Fig. 2)
The product is equipped with a fuse rated 125 V, 8 A. Replace blown fuse with
one of the same type.
- Open the cap of the plug by loosening it in a anti-clockwise direction .
- Remove and replace the fuse with the same type (125 V, 8 A).
- Close the cap in a clockwise direction.
Tips for maintaining battery condition
-
Vehicle batteries are designed to provide brief periods of very high current needed for engine starting.
They are not intended for constant deep discharge. -
The battery operating time depends on:
— the charge level of the battery,
— the battery capacity,
— the amount of power drawn by the devices that are connected to the product. -
With an average load of about 75 W connected to the product, it is needed to start the vehicle at least once 3 to 4 hours for 10 to 15 minutes to recharge the vehicle’s battery.
-
Before starting the engine to recharge the battery, disconnect the product from the lighter socket. Once the engine is running, the product can be connected again to the lighter socket.
Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING
Risk of electric shock! Unplug the product before cleaning. Do not
immerse the product in water or other liquids during cleaning.
- To clean the product, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Make sure the ventilation openings are free of dust or debris. Use a soft brush if needed.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.
- Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
- Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair center.
