PROPER COOKWARE

  • No special type of cookware is needed for the actual heating process – stainless steel, titanium, aluminum and copper-bottomed pans are all acceptable. The hot plate surface requires some consideration due to the potential for scratching. When you use cast-iron cookware, do not drag across the hot plate surface. When placing it on or removing it from the hot plate, make effort to lift instead of sliding. It is not advisable to use cookware with rough bottom, since you will likely end up with small shallow scratches on the hot plate surface, even if you’re careful.
  • For energy efficiency and even cooking, choose flat-bottomed cookware that fits closely over the heating elements, and the cookware bottom should be at least the size of the cooking zone.
