USER’S MANUAL

Introduction

Thank you so much for choosing a STETSOM product! Our new range of power supplies/chargers provides high performance and efficiency thanks to high- quality components and technologies developed for intelligent battery management and charging. Its new design offers high resistance and efficiency, which allows intense and prolonged use without overheating or power losses.

Before installing

Read this manual carefully before using the product.

  •  All connections must be made with the product OFF.
  • Always use cable sizes recommended by the manual. This guarantees maximum security for your installation and the perfect functioning of the product.
  • Only use sockets and extension cords compatible with the current consumption of the source. Using poorly installed, poorly sized, or even defective outlets can damage the product or offer risks.
  • The source has an automatic bivolt circuit (127/220Vac).
  • Carry out the installation in a firm, ventilated and dry place.
  • Never handle the product with wet hands, barefoot or attempt to repair it. Internal components operate at high voltage and pose a risk of electric shock.
  • Installation must be done by a qualified professional.

In case of doubt, ask the store where the installation was carried out or contact our Customer Service: +55 18 2104 9412.

Power supply presentation

  1. AC POWER CONNECTOR: Connect to a compatible outlet for product operation. Do not use adapters or bend the cable, this may reduce the efficiency or cause the cable to malfunction.
  2. DISPLAY: The LED display allows you to configure programming modes and display real-time current/voltage information.
  3. DC OUTPUT CONNECTOR (OUTPUT): Connect to the battery terminals through cables with suitable gauges, following the polarities indicated on the product. Never reverse polarities.
  4. ON/OFF KEY WITH LED (POWER/PROT): Allows you to turn the source on or off by pressing the POWER button. The button has an internal LED that will remain lit while the power supply is energized with the switch off (stand-by) or when protection is activated (PROT).

Charging System

The power supplies/chargers provide high-power to power and charge your battery system with smart features that manage power delivery to optimize charging and extend battery life. The power supply has the following charging modes:
FIXED VOLTAGE MODE:
Allows you to select the output voltage from 12.6Vdc to 14.4Vdc to power amplifiers and other devices. Indicated for use directly on the equipment without batteries or with batteries and sound playing, offering maximum power without discharging them.
SLOW CHARGE MODE (SMART):
The slow charge mode has the exclusive SMART CHARGE SYSTEM feature that intelligently regulates voltages for efficient charging, preventing batteries from overcharging or heating up, extending their lifespan and preserving their maximum performance for longer.
Its functioning consists of operating from 5% to 20% of the programmed current until the voltage reaches 14.4V, remaining in this stage for approximately 8 hours. When charging is complete, the power supply goes into float mode, supplying 13.8V continuously until another schedule is started or the power supply is turned off.
FAST CHARGE MODE (SMART):
Fast charge mode has the same SMART CHARGE SYSTEM feature but provides much more current compared to slow charge. It is indicated when the batteries are discharged and there is little time to charge them. Its functioning consists of operating from 20% to 35% of the programmed current until the voltage reaches 14.4V, remaining in this stage for approximately 10 minutes. When charging is complete, the power supply goes into float mode, supplying 13.8V continuously until another schedule is started or the power supply is turned off.
OPERATION OF THE CYCLE OF SMART CHARGING

OBSERVATIONS

  • Always prefer slow charging. It provides less battery wear, preserving their performance and increasing their useful life.
  • During the charging process, if the power supply is turned off or the batteries are disconnected, the charging cycle and elapsed time will be restarted.
  • The smart charging process is pulsed and is constantly analyzing the voltage and current values of the battery, so it is normal for the fan speed to vary. It is also normal for the displayed voltage to vary rapidly, and may be higher or lower than the configured one.

Operations Modes

The source has operating modes and settings that can be configured from the display and the MODE/PROG button. Each function has a dedicated LED that is lit when in use.

1. MODE / PROGRAMMING BUTTON (MODE/PROG):
Allows switching between operating modes and current/voltage display.
Whenever an operating mode is selected, the LED corresponding to the function will light up.
QUICK TOUCH: Allows you to switch between display modes and edit programming parameters:

LONG TOUCH: Allows you to enter programming mode and confirm a parameter:

To switch between display modes and edit parameters, use QUICK TOUCH.
To enter programming mode, use the LONG TOUCH. To save changes and exit programming mode, press LONG.
2,3. MULTIMETER (VOLTAGE AND CURRENT):
Displays DC output voltage and current values through the display and LED indicators. You can switch between three information display modes with a single press of the MODE/PROG button:

  • Only VOLTAGE 3
  • Only CURRENT 2
  • Alternate VOLTAGE 3 and CURRENT 2

When a mode is selected, the LED for the function will light up. In alternate mode, both LEDs will light up (VOLTAGE/CURRENT) for 2s.
The data reported by the multimeter function has an accuracy margin as indicated:
Voltage tolerance: ±1.5%.
Current tolerance: ±5% from 5% of the nominal value.
4. CHARGED:
When lit (red LED), it indicates that the batteries are fully charged.
Once full charge is reached, it is not necessary to turn off the source.
Its smart charging system will keep the output voltage at 13.8V, keeping the batteries always fully charged without causing damage to them.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION
Using a power supply to charge your battery or battery bank and supply power to your sound equipment:

PARALLEL INSTALLATION
Using two or more power supply to power your sound equipment and keep your battery bank charged:

When using more than one power supply in parallel, use only the FIXED VOLTAGE mode. All power supplies must be configured for the same output voltage.
Smart charge modes should only be used with a single power supply connected.
INSTALLATION ONLY AS POWER SUPPLY
Using one or more sources to power your sound equipment without using batteries:
To use the source as a power supply without the help of batteries, make sure that the total consumption of the powered equipment does not exceed the rated current supplied by the source. If the peak consumption exceeds this value, the source will trigger protection.

Protections

When activating a protection, the power supply will turn off and the LED present on the POWER/PROT button will light up. Check the cause of the problem and turn the power back on.
The protection features present are:

  • Internal AC input fuse: Protection against internal short circuit of the power supply.
  • Short circuit at the DC output: Protection against short circuit and overload at the output.
  • Low Voltage (Undervoltage): Output voltage protection below 7.5Vdc.
  • Temperature: Intelligent monitoring that regulates the operation of the power supply according to the temperature, preventing it from being turned off.
