  3. This equipment MUST BE GROUNDED. Connect only to properly GROUNDED outlet. See “GROUNDING / EARTHING INSTRUCTIONS”

  4. Install or locate this equipment ONLY by the installation instructions in this manual.

  5. Liquids or other foods must NOT be HEATED in sealed containers since they are liable to explode.

  6. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should NOT be HEATED in microwave ovens since they may explode even after microwave heating has ended.

  7. Use this equipment ONLY for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapours in this equipment. This type of oven is specifically designed to heat, cook, or dry food. It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use.

  8. This appliance is NOT intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety

  9. CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED to ensure that they DO NOT play with the appliance

  10. Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

  11. DO NOT heat baby bottles in the oven. Baby food jars shall be open when heated and contents stirred or shaken before consumption, to avoid burns.

PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY

  • DO NOT attempt to operate this oven with the door open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
  • DO NOT place any object between the oven’s front face and the door to allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
  • DO NOT operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door closes properly and that there is no damage to the:
    1. door (bent)
    2. hinges and latches (broken or loosened)
    3. door seals and sealing surfaces
  • The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.

WARNING
To avoid the risk of fire in the oven cavity:

  • DO NOT overcook food. Carefully attend the oven when paper, plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the oven, due to the possibility of ignition.
  • Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing the bag in the oven.
  • If materials inside the oven ignite, keep the oven door CLOSED, turn the oven off and disconnect the power cord, or shut off power at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
  • DO NOT use the cavity for storage. DO NOT leave paper products, cooking utensils, or food in the cavity when not in use.

WARNING
Liquids such as water, coffee, or tea can be overheated beyond the boiling point without appearing to be boiling due to the surface tension of the liquid. Visible bubbling or boiling when the container is removed from the microwave oven is not always present. THIS COULD RESULT IN VERY HOT LIQUIDS SUDDENLY BOILING OVER WHEN A SPOON OR OTHER UTENSIL IS INSERTED INTO THE LIQUID. To reduce the risk of injury to persons:

  1. Do not overheat the liquid.
  2. Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating it.
  3. Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
  4. After heating, allow the container to stand in the microwave oven for a short time before removing the container.
  5. Use extreme care when inserting a spoon or other utensil into the container.

CAUTION

To avoid personal injury or property damage, observe the following:

  1. Do not deep-fat fry in the oven. Fat could overheat and be hazardous to handle.
  2. Do not cook or reheat eggs in shell or with an unbroken yolk using microwave energy. Pressure may build up and erupt. Pierce yolk with a fork or knife before cooking.
  3. Pierce the skin of potatoes, tomatoes, and similar foods before cooking with microwave energy. When skin is pierced, steam escapes evenly.
  4. Do not operate equipment without load or food in the oven cavity.
  5. Microwave popcorn should not be popped in the oven.
  6. Do not use regular cooking thermometers in the oven. Most cooking thermometers contain mercury and may cause an electrical arc, malfunction, or damage to the oven.
  7. Do not use metal utensils in the oven.
  8. Do not use aluminium foil in the oven.
  9. Never use paper, plastic, or other combustible materials that are not intended for cooking.
  10. When cooking with paper, plastic, or other combustible materials, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations on product use.
  11. Do not use paper towels that contain nylon or other synthetic fibres. Heated synthetics could melt and cause the paper to ignite.
  12. Do not heat-sealed containers or plastic bags in the oven. Food or liquid could expand quickly and cause a container or bag to break. Pierce or open a container or bag before heating.
  13. To avoid pacemaker malfunction, consult a physician or pacemaker manufacturer about the effects of microwave energy on pacemakers.
  14. An authorized servicer MUST inspect equipment annually. Record all inspections and repairs for future use.
  15. Oversized food or oversized metal utensils should not be inserted in a microwave/toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
  16. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can burn off the pad and touch electrical parts causing a risk of electric shock.
  17. Do not use paper products when the appliance is operated in the toaster mode.
  18. Do not store any materials, other than the manufacturer’s recommended accessories, in this  oven when not in use
  19. Do not cover racks or any other part of the oven with metal foil. This will cause overheating of the oven.

WARNING
When cleaning the surface of the door and the oven cavity entrance, use only mild, non-abrasive cleaner applied with a sponge or soft cloth.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

Grounding/Earthing Instructions

The oven MUST be grounded. Grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current if an electrical short occurs. This oven is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. Consult a qualified electrician or servicer if grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists
as to whether the oven is properly grounded

WARNING
To avoid the risk of electrical shock or death, this oven must be grounded and the plug must not be altered.

Do not use an extension cord.
If the product power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install a three-slot receptacle. This oven should be plugged into a separate circuit with the electrical rating as provided in product specifications. When the combination oven is on a circuit with other equipment, an increase in cooking times may be required and fuses can be blown.

WARNING – Electric Shock Hazard
Improper use of the grounding can result in electric shock. Do not plug into an outlet until the appliance is properly installed and grounded.

  1. As with any appliance, close supervision is necessary if the oven is being operated by children.
  2. If the material within the oven ignites, the oven door should be kept closed, the appliance should be turned off, the power cord disconnected, and/or the power should be shut off at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
