Safety

Please observe the following safety instructions.

1.1 General instructions
¡Read this manual carefully.
¡Keep the operating instructions and product information for future reference for use or for subsequent owners.
¡Do not connect the device in case of transport damage.

1.2 Destination of the device

▶ When the appliance is installed, the mains plug of the mains connection cable must be freely accessible, or if free access is not possible, a disconnection device must be installed in the permanently installed electrical installation in accordance with the installation instructions.
▶ When setting up the device, make sure that the mains cable is not pinched or damaged.
Cutting the supply hose or immersing the Aqua Stop valve in water is dangerous.

▶ Never kink, crush or modify the power cord.
WARNING ‒ Risk of burns!
The blowout of the zeolite reservoir becomes hot and can cause burns.
▶ Never touch the blow-out opening of the zeolite reservoir.

1.6 Damaged device
WARNING ‒ Risk of electric shock!
A damaged device or power cord is dangerous.
▶ Never use a damaged device.
▶ Never use a device with a cracked or broken surface.
▶ Never pull on the power cord to disconnect the device from the power supply. Always pull the plug on the power cord.
▶ If the appliance or the power cord is damaged, immediately unplug the power cord or switch off the fuse in the fuse box and close the tap.

2.1 Secure Installation

Improper installation of the device can lead to damage.

▶ If no information is available or if the installation instructions do not contain any instructions on this subject, check with the manufacturer of these household appliances whether the dishwasher can be installed above or below other household appliances.

▶ To ensure safe operation of all household appliances, you must also follow the installation instructions for the dishwasher.
▶ Do not install the dishwasher under a hob.
▶ Do not install the dishwasher near heat sources such as radiators, water heaters, cookers or other appliances that give off heat.
Contact between the unit and water pipes can lead to corrosion of the water pipe and the water pipe may leak.

Dishwasher detergent can damage the water softener.

▶ To prevent corrosion in dishwashers with a stainless steel front, do not use sponge cloths or rinse them well several times before using for the first time.

3.3 Zeolite drying
The device is equipped with a zeolite reservoir. Energy can be saved by means of zeolite drying.
Zeolite is a mineral that can store and release moisture and heat energy.
During the washing phase, heat energy is used to heat the washing water and dry the mineral.
During the drying phase, moisture from the rinse chamber is stored in the mineral and heat energy is released. The heat energy is blown out into the wash chamber with dry air.
This enables rapid and improved drying.
Zeolite drying is therefore very energy-saving.
Tip: To ensure that the zeolite drying works properly, do not place any dishes directly in front of the suction opening and outlet opening of the zeolite reservoir.

Set up and connect

For correct use, connect the device to electricity and water in a professional manner. Observe the required criteria and the installation instructions.
4.1 Scope of delivery
After unpacking, check all parts for transport damage and the completeness of the delivery.
For complaints, please contact the store where you bought the device or our customer service.
Remark: The device has been checked at the factory for correct operation. This may leave water stains on the device. The water stains disappear after the first wash cycle.

4.2 Setting up and connecting the device
You can install your substructure or built-in appliance in the kitchen unit between wooden and plastic walls. 4.3 Drain water connection

Equipment

8.1 Upper crockery basket
Place cups, glasses and small dishes in the upper basket.

You can adjust the height of the upper crockery basket to make room for larger crockery.
Adjust the upper basket with the side handles
To wash large items of crockery in the crockery baskets, you can adjust the shelf height of the upper crockery basket.

1. Pull out the upper basket.
2. Hold the crockery basket on the sides at the top edge to prevent the crockery basket from falling off jerkily.
3. Press the levers on the left and right on the outside of the basket inwards.
4. Lower or raise the basket evenly to the desired position.Make sure that the upper basket is at the same height on both sides.
5. Release the lever. a The crockery basket clicks into place.
6. Push in the upper basket.

8.2 Etagere
Use the etagere and the space below to store small cups and glasses or for larger pieces of cutlery such as ladles or cutting cutlery.

If you don’t need the etagere, you can fold it up.

8.3 Lower crockery basket
Place pans and plates in the lower basket.

Large plates with a diameter of up to 31 cm can be placed in the lower basket as shown.

8.4 Foldable plate supports
Use the foldable plate supports to safely store crockery such as plates.

You can fold down the foldable plate supports for better storage of pans, dishes and glasses.1

Before first use

9.1 Commissioning for the first time
When using the device for the first time or resetting it to factory settings, you must make settings.
Tip: Connect your device to a mobile end device. You can easily make all settings via the Home Connect app.

7. Start the program with the highest cleaning temperature without dishes.
   We recommend that you use the appliance without dishes before using it for the first time due to possible water stains and other residues.

Softening system

Hard, calcareous water leaves limescale residues on the dishes and the rinse aid container and can clog parts of the appliance. For good dishwashing results, you can soften water with the water softener and softener salt. To prevent damage to the appliance, water with a hardness of more than 7 °dH must be softened.

10.1 Overview of the water hardness settings

10.2 Setting water softening
Set the device to the water hardness.

1. Determine the water hardness and the desired setpoint.

10.3 Water softener salt
You can soften the water with softening salt.

Fill softener salt
If the refill salt indicator lights up, refill the salt in the salt reservoir immediately before the program starts. The consumption of softening salt depends on the water hardness.
The higher the water hardness level, the higher the consumption of softening salt.

NB!
Dishwasher detergent can damage the water softener.
▶ Only fill the water softener tank with softening salt for dishwashers. The rinse aid container can be corroded by softening salt for dishwashers.
▶ To ensure that any spilled softener salt is rinsed out of the rinse aid container, the softener salt must be filled into the softener salt container immediately before the program starts.

1. Unscrew and remove the lid of the softener salt reservoir.

2. When using for the first time: fill the tank completely with water.

3. Remark: Only use softening salt for dishwashers.
   Do not use salt tablets. Do not use table salt.
   Put the softening salt in the softening salt tank.Completely fill the softening salt reservoir with softening salt. The water in the reservoir is displaced and flows away.

4. Fit the reservoir lid and screw it shut.

10.4 Switch off water softening

To maintain trouble-free operation of the water softener, the device regularly regenerates the water softener.
The softening system is regenerated in all programs before the end of the main wash cycle. This increases the running time and the consumption values of, for example, water and electricity.

11.1 Rinse aid
For optimum drying results, you should use the best rinse aid. Only use rinse aid for domestic dishwashers.

Fill rinse aid
If the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, refill rinse aid. Only use rinse aid for domestic dishwashers.

12.1 Suitable dishwasher detergents
Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers. Suitable for both non- combined and combined detergents.

Modern, powerful dishwasher detergents usually have a low alkaline recipe with enzymes. Enzymes break down starch and dissolve proteins. Oxygen-based bleaching agents are usually used to remove colored stains (e.g. tea or ketchup).
Remark: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for any detergent.

Tabs are suitable for all dishwashing tasks and do not need to be dosed.
With shortened programs, tabs may not dissolve completely, leaving detergent residue. This can negatively affect the cleaning effect.
Dishwasher powder
Powder detergent is recommended for shortened programmes.
The dosage can be adjusted according to the degree of soiling.
Liquid dishwashing detergent
Liquid detergents work faster and are recommended for shortened programs without a pre-rinse phase.
It may happen that a liquid detergent that has been filled in runs out of the detergent dispenser despite the lid being closed. This is not a malfunction and is not serious if you observe the following: ¡Select only one program without pre-rinse phase.
¡Do not make any time setting for the program start.
The dosage can be adjusted according to the degree of soiling.
Non-combined dishwashing detergent
Non-combined detergents are products that do not contain any other components apart from the actual detergent. Examples of this are dishwasher powder or liquid dishwasher detergent.
With powder and liquid detergent, the dosage can be adjusted to the degree of soiling of the dishes.
For better washing and drying results and to prevent damage to the appliance, it is recommended that you also use water softening salt →Page 26 and rinse aid →Page 28to use.
Combined dishwasher detergent
In addition to traditional non- combined detergents, a number of products with additional functions are offered. In addition to cleaning agent, these products also contain rinse aid and salt substitutes (3in1) and, depending on the combination (4in1, 5in1, …), additional components such as glass protection or stainless steel polish. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, combined detergents generally only function at water hardnesses of 21 °dH. If the water hardness exceeds 21 °dH, you must add softening salt and rinse aid. For optimum washing and drying results, we recommend using softening salt and rinse aid from a water hardness of 14 °dH. If you use combined detergents,

12.3 Notes on detergents
For daily use, follow the instructions regarding the detergents.
¡Detergents with the indication thing “Bio” or “Eco” usually cotain (for environmental reasons) lower amounts of active substances or some substances do not even exist at all. This may limit the cleaning effect.
¡Set the rinse aid system and the water softener to the non-combined or combined detergent used.
¡Combined dishwasher detergents according to the manufacturer’s instructions, salt substitutes can only be used up to a certain degree of hardness, usually 21 °dH, without the addition of water softener salt. For optimum washing and drying results, we recommend using softening salt from a water hardness of 14 °dH.
¡Hit dishwashing detergents with an in water-soluble protective packaging only with dry hands and place only in a dry detergent dispenser to prevent the packaging from sticking.

12.4 Filling detergent

1. To open the detergent dispenser, press the lock.

2. Place detergent in the dry detergent dispenser. If you use tabs, one tablet is sufficient. Place tabs across the tray.
   When using powder or liquid detergent, follow the manufacturer’s dosing instructions and the dosing format of the detergent dispenser.
   With a normal degree of soiling, 20 ml – 25 ml of detergent is sufficient.
   For less soiled crockery, a slightly smaller amount of detergent than indicated is sufficient.

3. Close the lid of the detergent dispenser.

Only wash dishwasher-safe dishes in the appliance.
Remark: Glazed crockery and objects made of aluminum and silver may discolour or fade when washed.
Sensitive glass types can become dull after a few wash cycles.

Only wash glass and porcelain that are marked as dishwasher safe by the manufacturer. Prevent damage to glass and crockery.

   Check whether the locking lugs of the coarse sieve have clicked into place.

7. Place the sieve system in the appliance and turn the coarse sieve clockwise.
   ‒ Verify that the arrow marks are aligned.

17.6 Cleaning the spray arms
Limescale and impurities in the washing water can block the nozzles and bearings of the spray arms. Clean the spray arms regularly.

1. Unscrew the upper spray arm and pull it downwards 2.

2. Pull the lower spray arm upwards to remove it.

3. Check the spray arm outlets for blockages under running water and remove any foreign objects.

4. Install the lower spray arm.

18.1 Cleaning the drain pump
Large food scraps or objects can block the drain pump. As soon as the dishwater no longer drains properly, you must clean the drain pump.
WARNING Risk of injury!
Sharp and pointed objects such as shards of glass can block the drain pump and cause injury.
▶ Carefully remove foreign objects.

1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.

2. Remove the upper and lower baskets.

3. Remove the strainer system.

4. Scoop out the existing water.
   If necessary, use a sponge for this.

5. Lift up the pump cover with a spoon and hold it by the bracket.

6. Lift the pump cover at an angle inwards and remove it. aNow you can turn the impeller by hand reaches.

9. Assemble the sieve system.

19.1 Disassemble the device

1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
2. Turn off the water tap.
3. Loosen the drain water connection.
4. Loosen the drinking water connection.
5. If present, loosen the fixing screws of the furniture parts.
6. If present, remove the plinth.
7. Carefully pull the device forward, pulling the hose along with it.

19.2 Frost-proof the device
If the device is located in a room with a risk of frost, e.g. in a holiday home, empty the device completely.
