When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

WARNING: TO AVOID THE RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK, FIRE OR INJURY TO PEOPLE, ALWAYS TURN THE APPLIANCE OFF, UNPLUG THE POWER CORD FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET AND EMPTY THE WATER TANK BEFORE HANDLING, CLEANING OR SERVICING THE APPLIANCE.

  • Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to person.
  • The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Dispose of water held by the appliance. This water is not drinkable.
  • The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
  • The appliance must have a minimum 50cm clearance around all sides.
  • Children must be supervised not to play with the appliance.
  • Children of less than 3 years and pets should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Do not leave children alone or unattended in the area where the appliance is in use.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless continuously supervised.
  • Avoid placing the power cord in areas where it can become a tripping hazard. Do not place the power cord under carpeting or cover it with rugs, runners or similar.
  • Place the appliance on a flat, stable and dry surface and always keep the appliance in an upright position. Operating the appliance in any other position could cause a hazard.
  • Do not place the appliance against a wall or other appliances.
  • Do not cover the appliance or restrict the airflow of the inlet or exhaust grills whilst in use.
  • Never place anything on top of the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not use this appliance near water or in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or a swimming pool. Never place the appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not allow water or other liquids to run into the interior of the appliance, as this could create a fire and/or electrical hazard.
  • This appliance is intended for indoor household use and similar applications. Do not use outdoors.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended while in use. Always turn the appliance off and disconnected from the power supply when not in use.
  • To avoid a circuit overload when using this appliance, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same electrical circuit.
  • Always plug the appliance directly into a wall socket. Avoid using extension leads where possible as they may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
  • Do not use this appliance with an external programmer, timer switch or any other device which would switch the  appliance on automatically unless this has already been pre-built into the appliance by the manufacturer.
  • Do not pull on the power cord. Never move, carry, or hang the appliance by the power cord.
  • Do not kink or wrap the power cord and plug around the appliance, as this may cause the insulation to weaken or split, particularly where it enters the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance with the water tank removed.
  • Ensure the mains cable is fully extended before use and arrange it so that it is not in contact with any part of the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance with any safety guards removed.
  • Do not operate the appliance if there are signs of damage to the appliance, power cord, or any of the accessories supplied. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical elements in the appliance. Doing so may be unsafe and will void your warranty.
  • Ensure that the mains supply (including voltage, frequency and power) complies with the rating label of the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance near petrol, paints, flammable gases, ovens, or other heating sources.
  • Never insert fingers or metal objects into the vents and openings of the appliance.
  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only. It should not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Do not operate the appliance if there are signs of damage to the appliance, power cord, or any of the accessories supplied. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

  • This appliance contains 0.07kg (70g) of R290 refrigerant gas.
  • R290 is a refrigerant gas that complies with the European directive on the environment.
  • Do not puncture any part of refrigerant circuit.
  • Be aware R290 refrigerant is odourless and does not have the odour normally associated with natural gas and propane tanks.

Getting started

  • Ensure the water tank is completely empty.
  • Ensure all windows and doors are shut in the room where the dehumidifier is in use.
  • Set up the dehumidifier so that there is at least 50 cm space above the dehumidifier and 20cm around all sides.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Turning On/Off:

  1. Plug in the dehumidifier.
  2. To turn on the dehumidifier, press the power button. The dehumidifier will beep once and the power indicator light will turn on.
  3. To turn off the dehumidifier, press the power button again. The power indicator light will turn off.

Setting a Timer:

The timer can be set to automatically turn the dehumidifier on or off.

Setting a Timer for Turning On:

  1. While the dehumidifier is plugged in but not turned on, press the timer button repeatedly to cycle through the timer options of 1 to 24 hours, increasing in increments of an hour.

  2. The number of hours will display on the LED screen.

  3. To set a number of hours, do not touch any button for 5 seconds.

  4. The dehumidifier will turn on when the timer elapses.
    Setting a Timer for Turning Off:

  5. While the dehumidifier is on, press the timer button repeatedly to cycle through the timer options of 1 to 24 hours, increasing in increments of an hour.

  6. The number of hours will display on the LED screen.

  7. To set a number of hours, do not touch any button for 5 seconds.

  8. The dehumidifier will turn off when the timer elapses.

Setting the Mode:

  1. Press the mode button continuously to cycle through the options of Auto Mode and Continuous Mode.
  2. The corresponding indicator light will light up.

Auto Mode:

When in auto mode, the default relative humidity is 50%. To change the relative humidity, follow the below steps:

  1. Press the humidity button to cycle through the humidity setting options.
  2. These will increase in 5% increments from 30% to 80% and will be displayed on the LED screen.
  3. If the room humidity is at or above the set humidity, the dehumidifier will begin working.
  4. If the room humidity is lower than the set humidity by 5%, the compressor will stop but the fan will remain on.

Continuous Mode:

When in continuous mode, the dehumidifier will run regardless of the room’s humidity percentage. The change the fan speed, follow the below steps:

  1. The default fan speed is high. Press the fan button to cycle through the fan options of low and high.
  2. The corresponding indicator light will light up.

Internal Drying:

Internal drying can help prevent mould caused by damp from forming inside your dehumidifier.

  1. Press the internal drying button to start internal drying.
  2. The dehumidifier will run at high fan speed for 30 minutes and then low fan speed for 20 minutes.
  3. Press the internal drying button again to resume normal dehumidification.

Note: Complete internal drying before storing the appliance.

Child Lock:

Activate child lock to deactivate all buttons on the control panel.

  1. Hold down the mode button for 3 seconds to activate child lock.
  2. Hold down the mode button for 3 seconds to deactivate child lock.

Emptying the Water Tank:

When the water tank is full, the water tank indicator light will illuminate and the dehumidifier will beep 10 times, then turn off.

  1. Unplug the dehumidifier and place it on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Firmly grip each side of the water tank and gently pull it out of the dehumidifier.
  3. Remove the water tank cover.
  4. Gently tip the water tank to empty it.
  5. When empty, replace the water tank cover and slot the water tank back into the appliance.

Note: The water tank indicator light will also turn on if the dehumidifier is on, but the tank is missing or placed in incorrectly.

Setting Up Continuous Drainage:

  1. Unscrew the cover and pull out the plug from the continuous drainage hose outlet.
  2. Connect the continuous drainage hose to the outlet.
  3. Ensure the end of the hose is at least 10 cm lower than the height of the continuous drainage outlet.

WIFI AND SMART LIFE SET UP

Smart Life is a centralized app for smart device management. With Smart Life, you can control your smart devices remotely and set up a complex chain of commands and automations. To connect this dehumidifier to a smartphone via Wi- Fi through the Smart Life app, follow the below steps.

Note: Ensure WiFi network is set to 2.4GHz.

  • Download the Smart Life app by Tuya Inc from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Register for a Smart Life account.
  • Log into the Smart Life app.
  • n the Home page tap Add Device or the “+” symbol in the top right hand corner.
  • Tap Small Home Appliances.
  • Tap Dehumidifier.
  • Plug in the appliance and ensure the power socket is turned on.
  • Press the power button to turn on the appliance and then press the power button again to turn off the appliance and place it in standby mode.
  • Press and hold the humidity button for three seconds to activate the appliance’s WiFi pairing function. After three seconds the WiFi indicator light will begin to blink.
  • In the Smart Life app, tap “Confirm WiFi Indicator Light Rapidly Blinking.”
  • Input your WiFi password and tap “Confirm”.
  • The Smart Life app will automatically connect to the appliance and show “Successfully Added Device”
  • Return to the Smart Life app home page and tap the appliance’s name.
  • Use the controls to fully control the appliance and set desired settings etc.
  • After successfully paired up with Smart-Life app, the dehumidifier is ready to connect with Amazon Echo and Google Home (see below).

Note:

  • When the device is online, it can be controlled using the Smart Life App.
  • When the device is offline, it displays “offline” and can be remotely powered on.

Amazon Echo Set-Up:

Before connecting the appliance to an Amazon Echo device via WiFi, ensure:

  • The Smart Life app must have already been downloaded and the appliance successfully paired with the Smart Life app.
  • The Amazon Alexa app must have already been downloaded.
  • An Amazon Echo device must be paired with the Amazon Alexa app.

To connect this dehumidifier to an Amazon Echo device via Wi-Fi through the Smart Life app follow the below steps.

  1. Link the Amazon Alexa app to the Smart Life app:
    Step 1: Open the Amazon Alexa app.
    Step 2: Go to Skills.
    Step 3: Search for Smart Life by Tuya Inc.
    Step 4: Tap Enable.
    Step 5: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Smart Life account with the Amazon Alexa app.

  2. Pair the Amazon Alexa app to the appliance:
    Step 1: Open the Amazon Alexa app.
    Step 2: Go to Devices.
    Step 3 : Tap the “+” symbol to add a new device.
    Step 4: Tap the appliance name and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the Amazon Alexa app to the appliance.
    Step 5: e.g. Hey Alexa, turn on the dehumidifier

Google Home Set-Up:

Before connecting the appliance to a Google Home device via Wi-Fi, ensure:

  • The Smart Life app must have already been downloaded and the appliance successfully paired with the Smart Life app. The Amazon Alexa app must have already been downloaded.
  • The Google Home app must have already been downloaded.
  • A Google Home device must be paired with the Google Home app.

To connect this dehumidifier to a Google Home device, via Wi-Fi through the Smart Life app, follow the below steps.

  • Step 1: Open the Google Home app.
  • Step 2: Tap the “+” symbol.
  • Step 3: Tap Set up device.
  • Step 4: Tap Have something already set up?
  • Step 5: Search for Smart Life by Tuya Inc.
  • Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Smart Life account with and the appliance to the Google Home app.
  • Step 7: Return to the Google Home screen.
  • Step 8: Tap the room assigned to the appliance and tap the appliance’s name.
  • Step 9: Use Google Assistant to control the appliance e.g. “Hey Google, turn on the dehumidifier.”

CLEANING AND STORAGE

WARNING: ALWAYS TURN THE APPLIANCE OFF AND UNPLUG THE POWER CORD FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE HANDLING OR CLEANING IT.

CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS TO RUN INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE APPLIANCE, AS THIS COULD CREATE A FIRE AND/OR ELECTRICAL HAZARD.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS, AS THIS CAN DAMAGE THE APPLIANCE.

  • Do not attempt to clean the appliance in any other way than that detailed by the manufacturer.
  • Clean the exterior surface of the appliance by wiping it with a soft, damp cloth. Dry the appliance with a soft, clean cloth.
  • The filter should be cleaned every two weeks using a damp cloth
  • Always empty the water tank, clean and dry the appliance when not in use to prevent mould.

Cleaning the water tank:

  • Remove and empty the water tank as per the instructions above.
  • Clean the water tank with warm tap water and mild detergent (e.g. washing up liquid). Note: Do not use boiling water to clean the water tank.
  • Ensure to remove any scale or deposits that have formed inside the water tank.
  • Wipe all surfaces dry before placing the water tank back into the appliance.

Storage:

  • To store your product, we recommend using the original or a similar-sized box.
  • Store the appliance in a safe, clean and dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children when not in use.
  • The unit may need defrosting in temperatures less than 23°C – This will happen automatically and last up to 5 minutes. During this time, the dehumidifying function will stop and the defrost indicator will light up. Do not switch off while the unit is defrosting.

RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL

Waste electrical and electronic products (WEEE), batteries, accumulators, and packaging should not be disposed of with general household waste. This is to prevent possible harm to the environment and human well-being, and to help conserve our natural resources. Most electrical products with a plug, battery, or cable can be recycled. Contact your local council, household waste disposal service, or the store where you purchased the product for information regarding the collection schemes in your area.

Electrical and electronic products (WEEE) may contain personal user data, depending on the type of product. This may include app-linked products that connect to wifi. The end-user is responsible for deleting the data on the waste electrical and electronic products prior to disposal.

FL The water tank is full. Empty the water tank according to the

instructions above.
E1| The coil sensor detects an issue.| Seek a professional to check the coil sensor and related circuits.
E2| The room temperature sensor detects an issue.| Seek a professional to check the room temperature sensor and related circuits.
P1| The appliance is defrosting.| This is normal. When defrosting is complete, use the appliance as normal.
CL| The appliance is drying internally.| This is normal. When the internal drying is complete, use the appliance as normal.
LC| Child lock is active.| Activate and deactivate child lock according to the instructions above.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The dehumidifier is not collecting water. The doors or windows in the room
where the appliance is in use are open. Close all doors or windows.
The air vents are blocked. Remove any blockages.
The humidity in the room is increasing. Turn off any appliances that may be

creating steam.
The dehumidifier is not turning on.| It is not connected to power.| Check to ensure the power cord is correctly plugged in and the wall socket is turned on.
The water tank is full or in the wrong position.| Remove, empty, and replace the water tank, positioning it correctly.
The temperature of the room is unsuitable.| Use within a temperature range of 5ºC and 32ºC.
The dehumidifier is making an abnormal noise.| It has been placed on an incline.| Move it to a flat, stable surface.
The air filter is blocked.| Clean the air filter according to the above instructions.
Water is leaking from the dehumidifier.| The continuous drainage hose is loose.| Securely connect the continuous drainage hose to the port.
The drainage system is blocked.| Remove any blockages and ensure the hose is not kinked.
