Intended Use

When the mother is breastfeeding or pumping on one side, the Medela Silicone Breast Milk Collector can help to collect the leaking breast milk on the other side.

Important safety information/Residual Risk/Warnings

  • Inspect before each use. Throw away at the first signs of damage or weakness.
  • This is a single-user product. Use by more than one user without adequate cleaning may present a health risk and should be avoided.
  • When using the silicone leak-proof stopper, make sure that it is inserted tightly in order to prevent milk from leaking.
  • During use, make sure that the Silicone Breast Milk Collector does not press on the milk ducts of the nipple. By firstly ensuring the nipple is centered into the shield when applying to the breast.
  • The Silicone Breast Milk Collector may lose suction and separate from the breast on occasion due to capacity, skin humidity, etc.
  • Keep the product and accessories away from babies and children.
  • The product and its package are not toys, so do not allow babies and children to play with them.
  • The lanyard is solely designed and intended to be worn by adults. Do not place it around babies’/children’s necks.
  • Never leave a baby or child unattended with the lanyard.
  • Do not let the baby chew on the product or its accessories.

How to Use

  1. Whenever using the Silicone Breast Milk Collector ensure the lanyard is attached and worn around the neck to prevent accidental spills during use.
  2. Squeeze in the center of the collection bottle. Firmly place the shield against your breast and areola, with your nipple centered to form an airtight seal. You can then start breastfeeding or pumping.
  3. Once the Silicone Breast Milk Collector is full or when you have stopped pumping/feeding, hold on to the collector and gently squeeze the shield to remove it from your breast.
  4. To ensure breast milk doesn’t spill insert the stopper before placing it down.
  5. When you are finished, place the collector on the table and push down a little to create suction on the base, which will firmly stick it to the table surface, making sure it does not fall over.
  6. When you want to move the collector, break the seal on the table surface gently lifting up the tab on the suction base while holding onto the collector with the other hand.
  7. When you need to store breast milk for a short time, place the cap on top, and store it at room temperature or in the refrigerator. When you need to store it for a longer period, pour your breast milk into a Medela storage bag or bottle. For information on storing your breast milk, visit www.medela.com.
