Using Your Appliance
Please read the operating instructions carefully before using your appliance

After Use

- Keep this unit clean. Do not allow objects to enter the ventilation opening as this may cause electric shock, or damage to the unit. Switch off the unit and then remove the plug from the socket when not in use or before cleaning.
- Check all inlets and outlets regularly for accumulated dust.
- Disconnect the unit from mains outlet when it is not in use, or before relocating or cleaning it.
- Switch off and remove the plug from the socket before leaving the appliance unattended and before changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of the appliance.
- When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry place. Children should not have access to stored appliances.

- Install the unit on flat and hard floor to diminish vibration or noise.

- Ensure that the unit is switched off after use.
- Do not immerse cables, plugs or any part of the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Operate the unit only at the voltage specified.

Electrical safety

Extension cables & class 1 product
- A 3 core cable must be used as your tool is earthed and of class 1 construction.
- Up to 30m (100 ft) can be used without loss of power.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised BLACK+DECKER Service Centre in order to avoid a hazard.

About the Controls

Turning the Unit On or Off
- Note : To avoid damage, place the unit in an upright position for at least 24 hours before first use
- Note : Always ensure the water tank is empty and in position before turning the unit on.
- Note : During the operation, keep doors and windows closed to save energy.
- Insert the DC end of the power adapter into the appliance. Insert the AC plug into the mains socket.
- Once switched on at the socket a sound prompt will be audible, indicating that the appliance is in stand-by mode.
- Press the ON/OFF key to start the unit. The display window will illuminate, and the unit will start to operate, with corresponding indicator lights displayed.
- Press the ON/OFF key again, the digital display screen and icons will go off and all functions of the machine will stop working. A sound prompt will be audible.
- CAUTION : Turn the unit off, unplug and empty the water tank before moving it.
- CAUTION : DO NOT move the unit whilst it is operating.
- Note : DO NOT plug in/ unplug the machine to switch it on and off. Use the ON/OFF key on the unit first, then plug in/unplug.
- Note : To extend the life of the appliance do not switch the machine on and off frequently.
- Note : During the operation, keep doors and windows closed to save energy and improve the efficiency of the unit.

Temperature Display
The current environment temperature is displayed.
Humidity Display
The current environment humidity is displayed.
Ionizer Icon
- When the ionizer icon is illuminated the ionizer function of the unit is working.
- To activate the function, when the machine is ON, press and hold the “ON/OFF” button for 3 seconds.
- To deactivate the function press and hold the “ON/ OFF” button again for 3 seconds.
Dehumidifying Icon
When the dehumidifying icon is illuminated the unit is operating normally.
If the icon light is not illuminated the dehumidifying function is not
operating.
Tank Full Icon
- When the unit detects that the water tank has been full for 4 seconds the unit will stop dehumidification. The tank full icon will illuminate and an alarm will sound. The fan will continue to run for 3 minutes.
- When the unit stops pour the water out of the water tank (see section Removing the Water Tank) then replace the tank in to position. Once the tank is back in position the machine will start working again automatically.
Note: If the tank float sensor is not correctly positioned or has fallen
off, the tank full indicator light will illuminate. Check the sensor and
reposition as required.
Note: If the water tank is not correctly positioned the machine will not
operate. The tank full indicator light will remain illuminated.
Defrosting Icon
When the defrosting icon is illuminated the machine is performing its
defrosting function. Once defrosting has finished the unit will revert back to
the function it was performing before defrosting.
Note: The unit can defrost automatically.
Removing the water tank
- Remove the water tank by holding the handles at both sides of the water tank and pull out gently. Take care not to tilt the water tank during removal, to avoid water spillage.
- Empty the water, ensuring there is no water in the float.
- WARNING: DO NOT drink the water from the water tank or give it to animals.
- Note: If the water tank is removed during normal operation the unit will stop work automatically. Once the water tank is returned back to its position the unit will restart automatically.
- Note: DO NOT remove the float from the water tank. The float is required for the water tank full sensor to gauge the water level. If the float is removed the unit will not stop when the water tank is full.
Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING: Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the socket, to prevent electric shock.
- Do not immerse any part of the appliance, power cord or plug in liquids..
- Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid using detergent, spray or chemicals as these may cause damage to the appliance.
- Use only implements recommended by the manufacturer for defrosting or cleaning.
- Clean the water tank with soft cloth.
- Clean the water from inside the float. DO NOT take the float assembly apart.
- Unplug the dehumidifier if it is not to be used for a long time.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging.
Mains plug replacement
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted
- Safely dispose of the old plug.
- Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the new plug.
- Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
- If the product is class I (earthed), connect the green/yellow lead to the earth terminal.
Note! If your product is class II double insulated (only 2 wires in the
cord set), no connection is to be made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good quality plugs. Any
replacement fuse must be of the same rating as the original fuse supplied with
the product.
WARNING: The above section on mains plug replacement is for authorized service centre persons.
