Product Information
The CLARKE 36 Drum Fan, model no. CAM36C, is a high-quality fandesigned for indoor use. It is equipped with front and rear grillsfor safety and has a powerful motor that provides efficient cooling. The fan operates on 230VAC 50Hz power supply and should not be connected to any other power source to avoid damage. It is recommended to connect the fan to a Residual Current Device (RCD) for added safety.
The fan comes with a non-rewireable plug and should be connected to an appropriate socket. If the plug needs to be changed, it should be done following the provided wiring instructions. The power cable has specific wire colors (Green and Yellow for Earth, Blue for Neutral, and Brown for Live) that need to be correctly connected to the corresponding terminals of the plug. It is important to note that the fan should not be used in dusty environments or areas containing chemical fumes. It should not be used as an extractor fan or connected to a duct system. Product Usage Instructions
- Before using the fan, thoroughly read the manual and follow all instructions.
- Ensure that the voltage of your electricity supply matches the rating indicated on the fan’s rating plate (230VAC 50Hz).
- If the plug needs to be changed, follow the wiring instructions provided:
- If the wire colors in the power cable do not correspond with the markings on the plug terminals, proceed as follows:
- Connect the Green and Yellow wire to the Earth terminal.
- Fit a 3 Amp fuse.
- Connect the Blue wire to the Neutral terminal.
- Connect the Brown wire to the Live terminal.
- Ensure that the outer sheath of the cable is firmly held by the clamp.
- Always make sure the front and rear grills are in place before operating the fan.
- Avoid using the fan in dusty environments or areas with chemical fumes.
- Do not use the fan as an extractor fan or connect it to a duct system.
- Avoid using the fan in areas of high humidity or water vapor, such as bathrooms.
- Do not cover the fan with clothing or any material that restricts airflow.
- If you have any doubts or need repairs, consult a qualified electrician. Do not attempt repairs yourself.

In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service.
GUARANTEE
- This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be required as proof of purchase.
- This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be returned to us without prior permission. This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.

Through purchase of this product, the customer is taking on the obligation to deal with the WEEE in accordance with the WEEE regulations in relation to the treatment, recycling & recovery and environmentally sound disposal of the WEEE. In effect, this means that this product must not be disposed of with general household waste. It must be disposed of according to the laws governing Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) at a recognised disposal facility.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
WARNING: READ THESE ELECTRICAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE CONNECTING THE PRODUCT TO THE MAINS SUPPLY.
Before switching the product on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. This product is designed to operate on 230VAC 50Hz. Connecting it to any other power source may cause damage.
This product may be fitted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change the fuse in the plug, the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover becomes lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a suitable replacement is obtained. If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or due to damage, it should be cut off and a replacement fitted, following the wiring instructions shown below. The old plug must be disposed of safely, as insertion into a mains socket could cause an electrical hazard.
If the colours of the wires in the power cable of this product do not correspond with the markings on the terminals of your plug, proceed as follows.
- The Blue wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked N or coloured Black.
- The Brown wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked L or coloured Red.
- The Yellow and Green wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked E or or coloured Green.
Plug must be BS1363/A approved
- We strongly recommend that this machine is connected to the mains supply via a Residual Current Device (RCD)
- If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt any repairs yourself.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- ALWAYS read the manual before use.
- ONLY suitable for indoor use.
- DO NOT operate without the front and rear grills in place.
- AVOID using in dusty environments.
- DO NOT use in environments containing chemical fumes etc.
- DO NOT use as an extractor fan.
- DO NOT use in areas of high humidity/water vapour, i.e. bathrooms etc.
- DO NOT connect the fan to duct system.
- DO NOT cover the fan with clothing or any material that will restrict free airflow through the fan.
- NEVER touch the blades with your hand or any loose object.
- ALWAYS unplug the fan before moving it or performing maintenance.
- DO NOT touch the fan when your hands are wet.
- ONLY qualified electricians should disassemble, repair or rebuild the fan.
- ALWAYS unplug the fan when it is not in use.
- NEVER unplug the fan by holding the cable. Unplug by holding the plug.
- NEVER use the fan if the cable or plug are damaged.
- NEVER use the fan close to fires.
- DO NOT use this fan with any solid-state speed control device to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
ASSEMBLY
FAN CRADLE ASSEMBLY
- Insert the axle through the axle brackets on the outside of the fan frame.
- Align the holes in the brackets to the screw holes in the axle and secure using the washers and hex bolts and a cross headed screwdriver.
- Slide each wheel over the ends of the axle and secure using the washers and hex bolts using a 14mm spanner.
OPERATION
FAN OPERATION
- Always operate the fan in an upright position, following all instructions and recommendations listed in this manual.
FAN LOCATION
- Place the fan in the area of the room that will provide proper fan cooling.
FAN CONNECTION
- Plug the fan directly into a 230v AC, 50Hz wall outlet.
- Be sure the plug fits tightly into the outlet. A loose connection may cause overheating and damage to the plug or fan.
TURNING FAN ON
- Place the fan on a stable level surface. Plug the fan into a correctly grounded outlet.
- To start the fan, turn the switch from the ‘0’ position (OFF) to the desired fan speed.
- Low: 960 rpm
- High: 1090 rpm
TURNING FAN OFF
- To turn the fan OFF, turn the switch from the current fan speed setting to the ‘0’ position. Remove the plug from the wall outlet.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Warning: NEVER OPERATE THE FAN WITH THE FRONT GUARD REMOVED. DO NOT USE THE FAN IF IT HAS MALFUNCTIONED OR BECOME DAMAGED IN ANY WAY.
CLEANING
If the fan has been operating for long periods in a very dusty environment, the blades and motor assembly may eventually require cleaning.
- Disconnect the power cable from the power supply.
- Unscrew the front guard and lift it away carefully.
- Wipe the fan blades with dry cloth and remove any dust from the motor assembly with a soft paintbrush, vacuum cleaner or jet of compressed air.
- NEVER use polish or any corrosive liquid that will damage the surface finish.
- Replace the guard securely before use.
- Periodic grille cleaning with a vacuum will prevent dust build up.
MAINTENANCE
- Have any repairs carried out by a suitably qualified person.
- The motor bearings are permanently sealed for life and do not require any additional lubrication.
STORAGE
- Keep the original carton for storage of the fan. Coil and tie the power cable to avoid damage during storage.
