Product Information
The Aqara Hub E1 is a smart home device that allows you to connect and control various Aqara child devices. It supports Zigbee connectivity and does not support Thread. The hub has a Wi-Fi relay function that extends the signal coverage for other Wi-Fi-applicable devices. It does not have a built-in loudspeaker or buzzer for local audio alarms. The hub also has a Preventing accidental deletion feature to prevent network disconnection due to misoperation.
Product Usage Instructions
To connect the Aqara Hub E1 with the Aqara Home app, follow these steps:
- Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi.
- In the app, select Accessories > + > Aqara Hub E1.
- Long press the reset button on the hub for 10 seconds until the indicator blinks yellow.
- Follow the instructions in the app to complete the pairing process.
To troubleshoot if the Aqara Hub E1 fails to pair with the app, follow these steps:
- Keep your phone close to the hub and ensure the hub is blinking yellow.
- Connect the hub to a 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi and switch off the 5GHz if your router transmits on both bands.
- Ensure there are no special characters in the Wi-Fi name and disable the forbid sending mDNS to wireless clients setting if using a business router.
- Try connecting with another Wi-Fi network or creating a Wi-Fi hotspot with your phone to test for weak Wi-Fi signals.
- Long press the reset button on the Aqara Hub E1 until the yellow light blinks to confirm the app prompt for connection.
- If multiple attempts fail, restart your phone to clear the memory cache.
The maximum communication distance between the Aqara child devices and the Aqara Hub E1 is 7-10 meters (275-393 inches) when separated by a wall. When separated by multiple walls, it is recommended to connect the devices as close as possible to ensure reliable communication. The recommended distance between the router and the Aqara Hub E1 is no more than 10 meters (393 inches) without any obstacles.
To enable the Wi-Fi relay function of the Aqara Hub E1:
- Open the app and go to Settings – Wi-Fi Relay.
- The hub will generate new WLAN hotspots after being connected to the home wireless router, enlarging the signal coverage for other Wi-Fi-applicable devices.
- The default hotspot name and password can be changed by users.
Please note that the Aqara Hub E1 does not have a built-in loudspeaker or buzzer, so it does not support local audio alarms. It also has a Preventing accidental deletion feature to avoid network disconnection due to misoperation. If you need to unbind the device, it can only be done through the app when the device is connected to the network normally.

I have connected the E1 hub to the Aqara Home app, but why I can’t discover the Aqara devices in Alexa?
- Please note, you will not see the E1 Hub in Alexa as the hub E1 doesn’t have the night light as Aqara hub M1S, the hub function of the hub E1 supports Alexa, which means you will see compatible child devices that you have paired with the E1 Hub.
- The compatible Alexa devices are Aqara Door and Window Sensor, Aqara motion sensor, Temperature and Humidity Sensor, Smart Plug (US), Aqara Wall Switch, Roller Shade Driver E1, and Motion Sensor P1.
I have connected the E1 hub to the Aqara Home app, but why I can’t find the Aqara devices in Google?
- Please note, you will not see the E1 Hub in Google as the hub E1 doesn’t have the night light as Aqara hub M1S, the hub function of the hub E1 supports Google, which means you will see compatible child devices that you have paired with the Hub E1.
- The compatible Google devices are Aqara Door and Window sensor, Aqara Temperature and Humidity sensor, Aqara smart plug, Aqara Wall Switch.
