Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed.

Check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds with that of the local network before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply.

Children aged from 8 years and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge can use this appliance, only if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Unless they are older than 8 and supervised, children should not perform cleaning or user maintenance. This appliance is not a toy.

This appliance contains no user serviceable parts. If the power supply cord, plug or any part of the appliance is malfunctioning or if it has been dropped or damaged, only a qualified electrician should carry out repairs. Improper repairs may place the user at risk of harm.

Keep the appliance and its power supply cord out of reach of children.

Keep the appliance and its power supply cord away from heat or sharp edges that could cause damage.

Keep the power supply cord away from any parts of the appliance that may become hot during use.

Keep the appliance away from other heat emitting appliances.

Do not touch any sections of the appliance that may become hot or the heating components of the appliance, as this could cause injury.

Always unplug the appliance after use and before any cleaning or user maintenance.

Always ensure that the appliance has cooled fully after use before performing any cleaning or maintenance or storing away.

Always use the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface, at a height that is comfortable for the user.

Use of an extension cord with the appliance is not recommended.

This appliance should not be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system, other than that supplied with this appliance.

This appliance is intended for domestic use only. It should not be used for commercial purposes.

The outer surface of the appliance may get hot during operation.

CAUTION:

Hot Surface – Do not touch the hot section or heating components of the appliance. Take care not to pour water on the heating element. WARNING: Keep the appliance away from flammable materials.

Care and Maintenance

Switch off and unplug the Popcorn Maker from the mains power supply and allow to cool fully before performing any cleaning or user maintenance.

STEP l : Wash the top cover and measuring cup in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

STEP 2: Wipe the Popcorn Maker with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.

Never immerse the Popcorn Maker in water or any other liquid. Do not use harsh or abrasive detergents or scourers to clean the Popcorn Maker, as this could cause damage.

NOTE: The Popcorn Maker is not suitable for use in a dishwasher. Always clean the Popcorn Maker before, and immediately after use.

Instructions for Use

Before First Use

Before using the Popcorn Maker for the first time, wipe it down with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.

Do not immerse the Popcorn Maker in water or any other liquid.

NOTE: When using the Popcorn Maker for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the Popcorn Maker.

Using the Popcorn Maker

STEP l: Place the Popcorn Maker onto a flat stable surface, at a height that is comfortable for the user.

STEP 2: Put one measuring cup full of popcorn kernels into the aluminium heat chamber through the popcorn inlet.

STEP 3: Do not use more than one measuring cup of popcorn at a time, as this will overfill the Popcorn Maker and could result in damage.
STEP 4: Secure the measuring cup onto the top cover to prevent losing any popcorn as it cooks.
STEP 5: Place a large bowl underneath the spout, taking care that the edge of the bowl touches the Popcorn Maker.
STEP 6: Plug in and switch on the Popcorn Maker at the mains power supply. Turnon  the Popcorn Maker using the on/off switch. It will take approx. three minutes for all of the popcorn kernels to pop.
STEP 7: When all of the popcorn is made, turn off the Popcorn Maker using the on/off switch and unplug it from the mains power supply. Allow the Popcorn Maker to cool for approx. l 0-12 minutes before using it again.

WARNING:

Some popcorn kernels may not expand or puff properly and may escape from the popcorn outlet during operation. Exercise caution and avoid immediate contact with the popcorn kernels, as they will be very hot.

Storage

Check that the Popcorn Maker is cool, clean and dry before storing in a cool, dry place.

Never wrap the power supply cord tightly around the Popcorn Maker; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tbsp of smooth peanut butter
l tbsp of butter

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Melt the butter and the peanut butter in a pan over a low heat. Stir constantly.
Pour the mixture over the popcorn; stir well and serve immediately

Baked Fruity Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels 2 tbsps of butter
tbsp of glazed red cherries or other 3 tbsps of golden syrup
dried fruit chopper ¼ tbsp of baking soda
l tbsp of chopped pecans ¼ tbsp of vanilla extract
l tbsp of brown sugar

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Combine the popcorn with cherries/dried fruit and pecans, and place in an 8-10 inch baking tray.
In a pan mix the sugar butter and golden syrup and stir over a low heat until it melts and the mixture begins to bubble.
Stir continuously on a low heat for a further 5 minutes. Remove and stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract.
Pour the mixture over popcorn on the baking tray.
Bake at 130 degrees for 15 minutes then remove from the oven and stir popcorn mixture again.
Bake for a further 5-10 minutes.
Allow the popcorn to cool before cutting it into squares.

Blueberry Oat Popcorn Bars

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels 50 g uncooked oats
50 g of coarsely chopped 50 g marshmallows
dry-roasted peanuts 2 tbsps butter
50 g dried blueberries l tbsp honey

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Add peanuts, berries and oats to the popcorn and stir.
In a pan melt marshmallows butter and honey over a low heat.
Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and mix until all popcorn is covered.
Grease an 8-l 0 inch pan with butter and press the popcorn mixture into the pan.
Refrigerate until it has set for approx. l hour.
Cut the mixture into bars.

Chocolate Chilli Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels ½ tbsp of milk powder
l tbsp of icing sugar A pinch of chilli powder (mild)
l tbsp cocoa powder Cooking oil spray

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
In a bowl combine icing sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder and chilli powder.
Lightly spray the popcorn with the cooking oil spray.
Sprinkle on the chocolate/chilli mix and stir well before serving.

Marmite Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tbsp Marmite
l tbsp butter

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Melt a tablespoon of butter in a pan on a low heat.
When butter is almost melted add a tsp of marmite.
After mixing well, pour the mixture over the popcorn and serve immediately.

Yoghurt Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels 2 tablespoons honey
500 g plain A handful of dried fruit
(preferably greek-style) yoghurt (seeds and nuts optional)

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
In a bowl combine yoghurt, honey, dried fruit and popcorn.
Pour over popcorn before serving in individual bowls – ideal for breakfast.

Parmesan Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tbsp of Italian herb seasoning
2 tablespoons of grated Cooking oil spray
parmesan cheese

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Place grated parmesan cheese in a bowl and mix in Italian herb seasoning.
Spray the popcorn lightly with cooking oil spray.
Mix with the parmesan and seasoning to coat evenly, and serve immediately.

Apple and Cinnamon Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tbsp of cinnamon powder
2 tablespoons of chopped dried apples ¼ tbsp of nutmeg
2 tablespoons of pecan halves 2 tbsps of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of pecan halves ¼ tbsp of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of butter

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.

In a pan melt the butter on a low heat.

Add cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg and vanilla to melted butter and stir for one minute.

Add chopped dried apples and chopped pecan halves.

Add popcorn to the pan stir well and stir immediately.

Toasted Berry Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tsp ground ginger or cardamom
2 cups barley flakes 2 tsp vanilla
l /4 cup oat bran l/4 tsp salt
l /2 cup honey l /3 cup dried blueberries
3 tbsp light olive oil l /3 cup dried cranberries
l tsp ground cinnamon

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Preheat oven to 120 ·c.
Line a baking tray with foil.
Mix popcorn, barley flakes, oat branin a large bowl.
Mix honey, oil, spices, vanilla, and salt in a measuring cup and blend well.
Pour over popcorn mixture.
Pour mixture onto baking tray.
Bake about 40 minutes or until crisp, stirring occasionally.
Stir in blueberries and cranberries and allow to cool before serving.

Asian Sesame Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels l tsp soy sauce
l cup sesame sticks l tsp honey
l cup cashews l tsp grated orange rind
3 tbsp butter or margarine l /2 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Place the popcorn, sesame sticks and cashews in large bowl.
Melt butter in small pan.
Add soy sauce, honey, orange rind and 5-spice powder.
Pour over popcorn and toss lightly.

Pumpkin Spice Popcorn

Ingredients

l (9 ounce) bag microwave popcorn l tbsp pumpkin pie spice
2 tablespoons sugar

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Sprinkle the pumpkin spice mixture over hot popcorn and shake up to
distribute evenly.

Natural Nutty Popcorn

Ingredients

50 g popcorn kernels 50 g popcorn kernels
l tablespoon of sunflower seeds l tablespoon butter
l tablespoon of almonds finely ground l tablespoon butter
l tablespoon of walnuts or hazelnuts

Method

Pop the popcorn as per the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Popcorn Maker’, and place the popcorn into a bowl.
Finely grind sunflower seeds and nuts in a food processor or blender.
Melt the butter in a pan.
Pour the melted butter over popcorn and add salt.
Sprinkle ground nuts over popcorn, toss to mix and coat evenly.

Connection To The Mains

Please check that the voltage indicated on the product corresponds with your supply voltage.

As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as follows:

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

Blue Neutral (N)

Brown Live (L)

Green/Yellow Earth( )

The wire coloured BLUE is the NEUTRAL and must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured BLACK.

The wire coloured BROWN is the LIVE wire and must be connected to the terminal marked Lor coloured RED.

The wire coloured GREEN/YELLOW must be connected to the terminal marked withthe letter E or marked ·
On no account must either the BROWN or the BLUE wire be connected to the EARTH terminal (
).

Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.

The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted and conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved.

If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you.

Non-Rewireable Mains Plug

If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating).

If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you. If you need to remove the plug, DISCONNECT IT FROM THE MAINS, then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of an electric shock.
