tp-link AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender
Product Information
The AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender (RE815XE) is a powerful device designed to boost your Wi-Fi signal and eliminate dead zones in your home. It supports tri-band networking and offers a wider channel width for faster and more reliable connections. With Wi-Fi 6E technology, it provides ultra-fast speeds of up to 5400 Mbps and allows for more simultaneous transmissions with its larger capacity. The dedicated 6 GHz band ensures a cleaner and congestion-free connection, while the adaptive path selection feature automatically chooses the fastest connection path to the router. Additionally, the RE815XE can be used as a Wi-Fi access point to enhance your wired network with wireless capability.
Product Usage Instructions
- To set up the AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender, follow these steps:
- Place the range extender in a central location between your Wi-Fi router and the area with poor Wi-Fi coverage.
- Connect the range extender to a power source using the provided plug.
- Wait for the LED lights on the range extender to stabilize.
- Press the WPS button on both the range extender and your Wi-Fi router to establish a secure one-touch connection. Alternatively, you can connect the range extender to your router manually using an Ethernet cable.
- Use the smart signal indicator to find the best spot to place the range extender for optimal signal strength.
- If you have a TP-Link’s OneMeshTM router, you can create a mesh network for seamless whole-home coverage by connecting it with the RE815XE. Alternatively, you can use the range extender with any Wi-Fi router to boost your Wi-Fi range.
- If you want to enhance your wired network with Wi-Fi capability, you can switch the range extender to Access Point Mode. This will allow you to create a new Wi-Fi access point.
- The RE815XE features four external antennas that provide wider signal coverage for better Wi-Fi performance.

Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE
Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual wireless data throughput and wireless
coverage per ft² are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of network
conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building
materials, obstacles, volume and density of traffic, and client location.
The product may not be compatible with routers or gateways with firmware that
has been altered, is based on open source programs, or is non-standard or
outdated. Uninterrupted Streaming is designed for devices that support the
802.11k/v standard.
Up to 4x Capacity refers to 4x increase in median throughput under dense
environment compared to 11ac wave 2 range extender.
Saving clients’ battery power requires clients to also support the 802.11ax
Wi-Fi standard. Actual power reduction may vary as a result of network
conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors. ©2023 TP-Link
