H INSTALLATION OF REFRIGERATOR
STEP 1: GUIDELINES FOR SELECTING INSTALLATION SITE

  • Install the appliance in a dry and well ventilated room.

Solid and level floor

  • Unleveled floor will cause vibration and noise while operating the refrigerator.
  • The Refrigerator should not be installed on the floor covered with carpet.
  • Adjust the refrigerator leveling legs as per the floor to prevent issues like door misalignment, refrigerator malfunctioning.

Shady and humid place

  •  Avoid placing the refrigerator to direct sunlight, near to heat source such as gas stove etc. as it can weaken the refrigerator cooling performance.
  • Avoid placing the refrigerator close to a sink and near a water source that can cause rust and corrosion.
  • Avoid locations where moisture can cause electrical problems.
  • Avoid placing the refrigerator just beneath the ceiling fan as it can cause frost formation inside the freezer.

The space required for installing the appliance is shown below. (unit: mm)
More than 100 mm from left, right, back sides and 250 mm from top is required for good ventilation. Insufficient space causes noise due to vibration, weakening of refrigerating cooling and waste of electricity.

TEMPERATURE CONTROLS

OPERATIONS

  1. TEMPERATURE SETTINGIFB 695 Refrigerator Direct Cool - Temp ControlWhen you require Fast ice or when large quantities of foods are to be stored inside, rotate the temperature control knob provided in the freezer to Summer (5-6) setting. When quantity of foods stored in refrigerator are low, rotate the  temperature control knob provided in the freezer to Winter (1-2) setting. To account for the various factors that can influence the refrigerator temperature such as the position, ambient temperature, frequency of door openings, relative  humidity, temperature at which food is stored etc, change the settings accordingly with temperature control knob. Setting the temperature lower than the requirement is not recommended as it increases energy consumed by the  refrigerator
    ECO MODE:
This mode saves power consumption and also called as Vacation Mode.
Recommended not to use this mode in case of high usage condition or in Summer.
    SUPER COOL:
This mode is used to cool the items faster in Refrigerator compartment, also you can say party Mode.
Recommended not to use this mode for 6 hours max. in case of Refrigerator compartment has load.

  2. DEFROSTING Frost formation happens inside the freezer due to the condensation of surrounding moist air on the cold surfaces of freezer. Accumulation of excess frost acts as an insulator thus reducing the cooling efficiency of refrigerator. Before  defrosting, it is necessary to remove all the stored food items from the freezer as well as the chiller which is placed below the freezer area. Frost thickness should not exceed red color defrost indicator cap in freezer. Push the button  given on the center of the temperature control knob to initiate defrosting. Once initiated the frost will melt and changes into water which will then flow through designed path and gets collected on the defrost water tray provided at  the back of refrigerator. Refrigerator will automatically start after completing defrosting process. It is advisable to perform defrosting after every three days. During hot & humid conditions you may increase the frequency of  defrosting to reduce the frost content in freezer. Over accumulation of frost can lead to spillage of water from defrost water tray to ground/floor after defrosting. Strictly avoid the usage of any form of sharp edged tools such as knife,  screw driver etc to scrape of frost present in the freezer as it can damage the evaporator circuit and hence the cooling process.

  3. ICE MAKINGIFB 695 Refrigerator Direct Cool - ICE MAKINGGently fill the cubes to the top level in the given Ice tray with water. Open the Freezer door and place the Ice tray inside the freezer

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Before calling for service, check for the following observations and their potential reasons And suggestions to try out:

Symptoms Solution

Refrigerator does not work
properly/does not get cold enough| • Check the refrigerator is plugged and switched ON power supply
• Check that the refrigerator is placed in such a way that there are proper clearances on the side and top surfaces as mentioned above.
• Check if the refrigerator is exposed to direct sunlight or is in close proximity to Gas range / Stove/ OTG or any heat source.
• Check whether the temperature setting is at “Winter” condition, if it is then change setting back to “Monsoon / Summer” condition
depending on your requirement.
• Check the air gaps behind the glass shelves are blocked due to excess storage inside the refrigerator.
• Check if the refrigerator loaded with hot food.
• Check if the door is kept opened.
Food freezes in the refrigerator
compartment| • Check whether the temperature setting is at “Summer” condition, if it is then change settings back to “Winter / Monsoon” based on weather
condition and your requirement.
• Check the placement of high liquid containing food ( curries) near coldest area of the compartment.
Moisture formation outside the
refrigerator| • Ensure that the refrigerator is not placed directly beneath ceiling fan.
• Moisture can be formed during the rainy season or through continuous hot and humid days. Wipe out the surface with a dry cloth.
Moisture formation inside the
refrigerator| • Make sure that doors are not left open for long time If possible, reduce the frequency of back to back door openings which will increase the chances of moisture entry inside the refrigerator
• Avoid placing moist food inside the refrigerator without lid
Refrigerator sounds noisy| • Ensure adequate spacing behind refrigerator with the walls of room in which it is placed.
• Make sure that the floor is fi rm and refrigerator is levelled properly on it.
Sounds like water fl owing in the
refrigerator/ freezer section| • This sound is due to the Refrigerant R600a gas flow and it happens when compressor starts and stops which is part of normal operation of Refrigerator
