Preparation

A. POWER SOURCE: DC POWER

Plug the power cable to the power jack and plug the power adapter into a suitable power outlet.

B. Loading Paper

  1. Place paper holders into position. (fig.1)
  2. Install the paper roll on the holders.
  3. Insert the paper end into the printer slot. (fig.2)
  4. Press the [arrowup]key to feed the paper to an adequate length.

C. REPLACING THE INK ROLLER

If the printing becomes faint, the ink roller may need to be replaced.

  1. Turn the power off.
  2. Remove the printer cover. (fig. 3)
  3. Remove the old ink roller by pulling it up. (fig. 4)
INSERT BATTERIES
  1. Remove the battery door from the back.
  2. lnsert4 pieces UM-3 (AA)/ 1.SV batteries (Not included). Please make sure with the correct polarity (+/-) of the batteries.
  3. Reattach the battery door.
  4. Install the new ink roller IR-40T in the compartment and gently press it down until it snaps into place. Place the printer cover back on the unit.

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard  (Carbon zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium) batteries.

DATE AND TIME FUNCTION

  • Used to switch between calendar or clock mode
  • Used to set the date and time in calendar & clock mode
  • Used to switch between AM or PM at clock mode time setting
  • Used to switch between 12 or 24 hours at clock mode time setting
  • Used to select date format between “YYYY/MM/DD”, “DD/MM/YYYY” or “MM/DD/YYYY” in the calendar

Date format:

While displaying the date, depressing the % key allows changing the date format mode from YYYY-MM-DD to MM-DD-YYYYor DD-MM-YYYY.

  • The default date format is YYYY-MM-DD.

NOTE: The entered tax rate, time and calendar will be lost if the AC adaptor is disconnected from the AC power source.

Electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge may cause the display to malfunction or the contents of the memory to be lost or altered. Should this occur, use the tip of a ballpoint pen (or similar sharp object) to press the [RESET] button at the back of the calculator. After resetting, be sure to set the calendar, clock and tax rate again.
