**** Read this document and the accompanying operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. 4.1 General
-
The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
-
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses. -
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
-
Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
-
Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
4.2 Installation
- Verify that the delivery content is complete before assembling the product. Do not assemble the product if the delivery content is not complete.
- Before beginning the installation process, check whether there are appropriate mounting options for a mount on the back of your TV.
- Selecting an unsuitable installation location can lead to personal or material damage!
- Proceed with care when assembling and installing the product! The product has some sharp edges. There is a risk of injury!
- Carry out only the work on the mount that is necessary to install it (or to change its location). Never dismantle the mount and never attempt to convert it or to repair it in any way. Some mounts contain highly pre-stressed metal springs. Dismantling such a mount in the wrong way could cause you severe injury!
- It is usually necessary to remove the TV’s base before mounting the TV. Please consult the operating instructions for your TV.
- Lay the TV flat with its screen side down onto a soft, clean pad or cloth, so that there is no pressure on the screen and the screen does not get scratched. Protect valuable furniture surfaces during installation by using a suitable pad or cloth.
- When fixing the mount to the back of the TV, make certain you use the correct screws. Not only must these be of the correct thread type for the TV, but they must also not be too long; otherwise, they will damage the TV.
- The screws must not be too short, however, since otherwise the connection will not be secure.
- The screws must be screwed into the threaded fixture holes on the TV with at least 5 full 360° turns. The correct screws are usually supplied together with the mount or with the TV. Occasionally, however (depending on the TV type), other screws are required; these can be purchased from specialist retailers.
- Do not use any force when tightening the screws; otherwise, the TV may be destroyed, leading to loss of warranty/guarantee!
- If you have any doubt about the correct length of the screws required, we recommend that you contact the TV manufacturer or an appropriate specialist.
- Depending on the size and design of the TV and mount concerned, it is sensible for a second person to help with the installation. This person can hold the TV still, for example, while you are attaching the TV to the mount.
- Apply your full concentration when carrying out the installation, because if the TV and/or mount were to fall, this could cause expensive damage to the equipment and there is the potential danger of personal injury!
- Lay all the TV’s cables in such a way that they do not get jammed or kinked in the mount.
- Check all the screw fittings from time to time. Adjusting the position of the TV and/or the mount and moving them can sometimes cause the screws to become loose over time.
4.3 Use
- Do not exert any force when moving/adjusting the TV and/or mount, as this could damage the TV.
- When moving/adjusting, do not press on the TV’s screen!
- Do not overload the mount. Pay attention to the details provided by the manufacturer for the maximum TV weight and/or its size.
- Do not use the mount to support yourself or to hold onto.
- Do not fix any objects to the mount other than the TV for which it was intended.
- TV sets generate heat. Risk of fire! Take appropriate precautions with regard to heat dissipation and fire prevention. Certain surfaces can be damaged or discoloured because of heat dissipation. Take appropriate protective measures.
- If you are in any doubt, do not carry out the installation yourself; ask a qualified person to do it for you.
Wall and Ceiling Mounted
- Mounting is permissible only where the wall/ceiling concerned is of the correct type and condition. Lightweight partition walls or those made from gypsum boards are normally unsuitable. However, specialist retailers do sometimes stock special dowel fittings for such installation locations. If you are in doubt, ask a specialist before installation.
- Depending on the base wall material (e.g. concrete), suitable fittings must be used (screws, dowels, etc.); these are not normally supplied with the mount!
- Due to the weight of the TV, mount, and lever action involved, ensure that screws are fixed securely.
- Plan the installation location carefully so the mount with the TV fixed to it will be situated at the correct height/position when you have finished.
- Use a spirit level to assist with mounting to the wall correctly.
- Make certain when drilling and tightening screws that no cables or pipes are damaged. Inadvertently drilling through electric cables causes the life-threatening danger of an electric shock! Pay special attention to your safety when using electric tools (e.g. a drill).
- Make certain when mounting the product on a wall/ceiling that nobody is situated in the area underneath the mount and/or TV.
Cleaning and care
- Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
NOTICE! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the product.
