PRODUCT FEATURES

Apple Stem
Press down on the Apple StemApple Stem to make the top half of the apple spin and create a new set of four Sorting SlotsSorting Slots. Find the corresponding Shape BlockShape Block for each slot and insert the block into the matching slot.

10 Unique Blocks
Unique Shape Blocks Shape Blocks feature a friendly fruit character and fruit name.

Storage Door
Open the Storage DoorStorage Door to release the blocks. All 10 blocks can be stored inside the Spin & Change Apple Shape SorterSpin & Change Apple Shape Sorter™.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.

Ways to Play

Below are ideas to inspire play.

Label and Find
Teach little ones how to describe objects and recognize an object’s unique characteristics by having them find and insert blocks based on different descriptors, for example: Can you find the block with a yellow banana on it? Can you find a block that is blue? Can you find a block with a curve, like this [show a block with a curve]?
Use Spatial Language
Help little ones develop spatial reasoning skills and spatial vocabulary by using words and phrases to describe where the blocks are in relation to the sorter and other blocks, for example: You put the blueberry block inin the apple sorter! Let’s take all the blocks outout. Can you turn that block so the pointy part goes upup?
Compare Shapes
With 10 unique shapes, little ones can look at two or more blocks and observe their similarities and differences. Point out the sides, curves, and corners of each block to bring their attention to the attributes of different shapes.
Encourage Imagination
Encourage little ones to think creatively by turning shape sorting into a pretend-play game. For example, pretend the shape sorter is a blender and insert the fruit blocks to make a smoothie. Press the stem to blend it up and add in more fruit blocks.
