The pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied with the barbecue must be used. Replacement pressure regulators and hose assemblies must be those specified by the barbecue manufacturer.
When connecting the hose and regulator assembly to the gas cylinder, take care to avoid unnecessary twisting of the flexible hose.
After the assembly has been secured, tur on the gas and check for leaks by brushing a soap and water solution over all connections.
If you are unable to correct the leak by tightening the connections, turn off the gas and contact the supplier immediately.
Always ensure the barbecue is kept away from flammable materials and the gas cylinder clear of any heat source, When changing over from an empty gas cylinder to a full one make sure this procedure is carried out in a well ventilated location, preferably  outside, away from people and away from any sources of ignition; such as naked flames, pilot flames, electric heaters/equipment.

Gas Cylinder Use & Safety
This is a low pressure barbecue and must only be used with the hose and regulator supplied. ‘The gas cylinder should be filled by a reputable gas supplier and visually inspected and re qualified at each filling.
Always keep cylinder in an upright position. Always close the cylinder valve when the appliance is not in use. Do not subject gas cylinder to excessive heat.
NEVER STORE YOUR GAS CYLINDER INDOORS.
Cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well ventilated area out of reach of children, and must not be stored in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

For Optimum Performance Prior to travel:
Pre-cool the portable fridge at home on 230-240V mains power for 24 hours before use in a vehicle.
Products to be stored in the portable fridge should also be pre-cooled, or frozen if possible.

Travelling:
When in a vehicle operate the fridge from 12V DC only.
The fridge MUST NOT be operated on bottled gas when in a vehicle.
At Destination:
Set up appliance on level ground (bubble must be within inner red circle), connect to gas supply and operate according to the following instructions.
For best results in warm weather keep unit shaded from direct sun.
Minimise lilting the lid in very hot conditions.
Ensure there is sufficient space around the contents in the fridge for circulation of cold air.

Mains – 230-240V AC

  1. Plug in the 230-240V mains power lead to a power outlet and switch on.
  2. Tum the power knob to the plug symbol. Turn the 230-240V control knob to MAX position.
  3. After four hours, check the temperature of the fridges content, f too cold tur the control knob slightly anti-clockwise to set to the desired temperature.
  4. This setting may need to be adjusted if the ambient temperature changes or if the fridge lid is opened frequently.
  5. To turn off, turn the 230-240V control knob fully anti-clockwise, turn off switch at power outlet and remove plug.

Vehicle Battery Power – 12V DC

  1. Insert the two pin plug on the 12V lead into the 12V socket at the rear of the fridge and insert the DC plug into the vehicles 12V socket.
  2. Tum the power knob to the battery symbol. There is a fuse on the DC plug head to prevent the overloading of power.
  3. The fridge will operate at its maximum cooling; therefore there is no temperature regulation when operating on 12V,
  4. To turn off, remove DC plug from socket.

IMPORTANT: We recommend the fridge only be operated when the vehicles motor is running.
Operating the fridge with the vehicles motor not running will acidly decrease the battery charge level, which may result in the inability to start the vehicle.

LPG
The electronic ignition requires 1x AAA battery. Unscrew the battery cover on the back of the fridge and insert battery.
DO NOT turn control knob the other power sources (AC, DC ) when you have gas connected.
Hose must not be longer than 1m.

Connection:

  • Connect the gas hose to the rear of the fridge and the regulator to the gas cylinder.
  • Position the gas cylinder so that the hose is not kinked or stretched and turn on the valve.
  • Check all gas connections for leaks using a soap solution. NEVER use a flame for this purpose.

Lighting:

  1. Turn the power knob to the flame symbol.
  2. Tur temp knob to max.
  3. Press and hold down the ignition knob for 45 to 90 seconds to allow the gas to charge the system. You should hear a continuous ticking noise. Continue this process until the pilot light is present.
  4. Continue to hold down the ignition for 20 seconds after ignition occurs.
  5. Check burner is alight by looking through the small hole at the rear of the fridge.
  6. If burner did not light check connections and gas cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds and then repeat the above steps.

Operation:

  1. Once the gas is alight the fridge will operate at its maximum cooling; therefore there is no temperature regulation. A red needle visible in the gas indicator confirms operation.
  2. To turn off, turn control knob fully clockwise and tum off valve at gas cylinder.
  3. Disconnect gas hose before moving fridge.

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE

‘The portable fridge must be defrosted regularly for efficient operation.
If the appliance is to remain unused for a long period, disconnect, clean and leave the lid slightly open during storage to prevent unpleasant odours.
DO NOT use scouring pads, powdered cleaners, bleach or cleaners containing bleach because these products can scratch or damage the surface finishes.
When storing the fridge, remove both cords, loosely coil and store inside.
If left unused for long periods of time before use, turn upside down for 2-3 hours. this will remix the absorption system for optimal use.

DEFROSTING THE FRIDGE
Humidity can form frost in the interior of the cooling device or on the vaporizer. This reduces the cooling capacity. Defrost the device from time to time to avoid frosting.
Never use hard or pointed tools to remove ice or to loosen objects which have frozen in place.

To defrost the cooler, follow these steps below:

  1. Take out all contents out of the fridge.
  2. Turn off the fridge.
  3. Leave the cover slightly open until defrosted.
  4. Dry the inside of the fridge before returning contents.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. The fridge will not operate on 12V?

A. Does the battery have sufficient charge, also check the vehicles fuse for the accessory outlet.

Q. The fridge will not operate on Gas?

A. Check that the gas bottle is not empty. Check for leaks at all connections and re-light the burner.

Q. The fridge is difficult to light when the gas bottle is connected or changed?

A. When the gas botle s disconnected the gas lines fill with air, once the gas bottle is reconnected it may take some time to purge the air from the system. Try holding the gas control valve down for 30-40 seconds before turning and lighting.

Q. The fridge is not very cold?

A. Check that the fridge is on a level surface, has good ventilation and is not overloaded. Make sure the fridge is not in direct sunlight.

Q. What s the difference between a domestic fridge and this absorption fridge?

A. Absorption has no compressor, so is silent. Absorption takes longer to cool. Itis best to use pre-cooled food and to pre-cool absorption fridge for 24 hours before use. Absorption fridges only cool to between 20-25 below the ambient temperature. It will take minimum 12 hours to achieve this. Do not use in extremely low ambient temperatures on 12V DC as there is no thermostat to regulate the temperature.
