LG-LD-KG-KD 024-300S Packaged Gas Units
Product Information
- The E2023 Packaged Gas Units are gas piping kits used on LG/LD/KG/KD 024-300S Packaged Gas Units. The kit includes various components such as nipples, elbows, unions, valves, tees, caps, grommets, and street elbows.
- The operating pressure for natural gas units must be a minimum of 4.5 w.c. (1.19kPa) for 024 through 072 units and 4.7 w.c. (1.17kPa) for 090 through 300S units. The maximum operating pressure is 10.5 w.c. (2.60kPa).
- For LP/propane gas units, the operating pressure at the unit gas connection must be a minimum of 11 w.c. (2.74kPa) and a maximum of 13.0 w.c. (3.24kPa).
- The compounds used on threaded joints of gas piping must be resistant to the action of liquified petroleum gases.
- Installation and service of the gas piping kit must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier to avoid property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before starting, ensure that all power and gas supply to the unit are turned off.
- Refer to Table 1 for the appropriate gas unit and kit combination.
- Follow the installation instructions provided with the unit for pressure and leak testing gas piping and unit start-up.
Gas Piping Installation
- Before connecting piping, check with the gas company or local authorities for code requirements.
- Consider the length of the run from the gas meter when determining the pipe size for a maximum pressure drop of 0.5 w.c. (.12kPa). Do not use a supply pipe smaller than the unit gas connection.
LG/LD 036-072 Gas Piping (Figure 1)
- Follow the piping layout shown in Figure 1.
KG/KD 024-072 Gas Piping (Figure 2)
- Follow the piping layout shown in Figure 2.
LG/LD 156-300S Gas Piping (Figure 3)
- Follow the piping layout shown in Figure 3.
LG/LD 090-150 Gas Piping (Figure 4)
- Follow the piping layout shown in Figure 4.
- Note: Some components may be factory-installed in LG/LD units.
Refer to the appropriate figure and table for the specific gas unit and kit combination.

Installation
Before connecting piping, check with gas company or authorities having jurisdiction for local code requirements. When installing gas supply piping, length of run from gas meter must be considered in determining pipe size for 0.5” w.c. (.12kPa) maximum pressure drop. Do not use supply pipe smaller than unit gas connection.
For natural gas units, operating pressure at the unit gas connection must be a minimum of 4.5” w.c. (1.19kPa) for 024 through 072 units and 4.7” w.c. (1.17kPa) for 090 through 300S units. Operating pressure maximum must be 10.5” (2.60kPa) w.c.
WARNING
Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can
cause property damage, personal injury or loss of life. Installation and
service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas
supplier
- For LP/propane gas units, operating pressure at the unit gas connection must be a minimum of 11” w.c. (2.74kPa) and a maximum of 13.0” w.c. (3.24kPa).
- Compounds used on threaded joints of gas piping shall be resistant to the action of liquified petroleum gases.
- Make sure all power and gas supply to unit are off.
- Complete gas piping as shown in appropriate figure indicated in table 1.
- Use installation instruction provided with unit for pressure and leak testing gas piping and unit start-up.
