DEAR CUSTOMER

Thank You for purchasing a CENTEK brand product. We guarantee flawless function of this item, provided the guidelines of its operation are observed.
PURPOSE OF THE APPLIANCE: for making coffee from ground coffee beans.
This device is intended for use in domestic and similar conditions, in particular:

  • in kitchen areas for staff in shops, offices and other industrial conditions;
  • on agricultural farms;
  • clients in hotels, motels and other residential infrastructure;
  • in private boarding houses.

SECURITY MEASURES

The following requirements should be strictly observed in order to avoid situations hazardous for human life and health, as well as premature failures of the appliance:

  1. Please read this manual carefully before putting the device into operation. Keep these instructions, the cash receipt and the packaging of the device.
  2. Improper handling of the coffee maker can lead to its breakdown, cause material damage and harm the health of the user.
  3. To avoid electric shock and damage to the device, use only those accessories that are included in the delivery package.
  4. Before turning on the coffee maker, make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the operating voltage of the appliance.
  5. Place the coffee maker on a dry, flat surface. Do not place it on hot surfaces or near heat sources (electric stove, etc.), as well as near curtains or under hanging shelves.
  6. To avoid burns, do not touch the hot surfaces of the coffee maker.
  7. The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or sensory abilities or lack of life experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed to use the device by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to prevent playing with the device.
  8. Do not turn on the coffee maker without water.
  9. Use only cold water to make coffee.
  10. Turn on the coffee maker only when the coffee cup is installed.
  11. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
  12. If the appliance is not in use, always disconnect it from the mains.
  13. Do not immerse the appliance and the power cord in water or other liquids.
  14. Make sure that the power cord does not touch sharp edges and hot surfaces.
  15. When disconnecting the appliance from the mains, grasp the plug of the power cord, and do not pull the power cord.
  16. Before preparing each new portion of coffee, turn off the coffee maker for at least 5 minutes to cool it.
  17. Do not use the glass for other purposes, do not put it on gas, electric stoves and in microwave ovens.
  18. If the power cord is damaged, its replacement must be carried out by the manufacturer, the service department or similar qualified personnel to avoid danger.
  19. Special conditions for transportation (transportation), sale: no.
  20. Do not allow moisture to get on the power cord, plug and electrical contacts!
  21. Use of the device not in accordance with the instructions may result in injury!
  22. The surface of the heating element remains hot after use.
  23. If you wish to transfer the device to another person for use, please transfer it together with this instruction.

WARNING! Do not open the filling hole during use!
Do not submerge the appliance in water.

    Appliance Description

SCOPE OF SUPPLY

  • Coffee maker – 1 pc.
  • Cleaning brush – 1 pc.
  • User Manual – 1 pc.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

INITIAL PREPARATIONS

  • Carefully remove the appliance and its accessories from the box. Remove all packaging materials and advertising stickers.
  • By all means retain all warning stickers, instruction stickers (if any) and the serial number plate on the appliance’s housing!
  • After transportation and storage at low temperatures it is advisable to keep the appliance at room temperature for at least 2 hours before turning it on.
  • Fully unwind the power cord. Wipe the housing of the appliance with a damp cloth.
  • Wash all removable parts with warm water and let them dry completely before connecting the appliance to power supply.
  • It is necessary to fully clean the appliance before operating it for the first time in accordance with the MAINTENANCE section.

PREPARATIONS FOR USE

  • Place the appliance on a hard, smooth, level surface.
  • Install the drip tray under the dosing unit.
  • Extract the removable water tank from the appliance’s housing; fill it with water so that the level does not exceed the MAX mark.

ATTENTION!

  • Do not fill the water tank with hot water!

  • Do not fill water into the tank when it is installed in the coffee maker; always remove it before filling.

  • Remove the bean container lid, fill it with coffee beans. Do not overfill the container with beans, do not compress them too much.
    NOTE : use only coffee beans suitable for automatic coffee machines. Do not use caramelized coffee, green coffee, flavored coffee or coffee with additives and other types of coffee beans not suitable for automatic coffee machines.

  • Reinstall the coffee grinder container lid.

  • Connect the appliance to power supply.

OPERATION

NOTE :

  • Every time the appliance is turned on it will perform a cleaning cycle to prepare for operation.
  • Coffee will drip instead of flowing at the beginning (2 to 3 seconds after brewing start) and at the end (6 to 8 seconds before brewing completion) of the making process, this is normal.

TURNING ON AND PREHEATING

  1. Connect the power cord to the appliance, plug it into a wall socket and press the power button (I/0) on the back panel of the appliance.

  2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button (16) until the button’s indicator starts blinking; the appliance will perform a self-check.
    NOTE : in case of a malfunction please refer to the Troubleshooting Table.

  3. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening. The height of the coffee discharge outlet is adjustable from 85 to 115 mm.

  4. The CLEANING button indicator (17) will light continuously and the ON/OFF button indicator (16) will blink, whereupon the appliance will switch to the preheating and automatic cleaning mode.

  5. Upon completion of the coffee brewer unit preheating the indicators of buttons 22, 23, 24 and 25 will light continuously and the appliance can be operated in normal mode.

  6. During the steam boiler preheating the indicators of buttons 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 are blinking, which means that the appliance cannot be operated. Upon completion of the boiler preheating the function indicators will light continuously and the appliance can be operated in normal mode.

  7. Upon completion of all preheating stages all function indicators will light continuously and the appliance will switch to standby mode.

MAKING ESPRESSO

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.
  2. Check and ensure that the mixer plug (7) is securely closed.
  3. Press and hold the ESPRESSO button (24), the appliance will start making the beverage. The button indicator will light continuously during the coffee making process.
  4. After making a single cup the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.
  5. To cancel the current function press and hold the ESPRESSO button (24).

MAKING DOUBLE ESPRESSO

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.

  2. Check and ensure that the mixer plug (7) is securely closed.

  3. Press and hold the DOUBLE ESPRESSO button (23), the appliance will start making the beverage. The button indicator will light continuously during the coffee making process.
    NOTE : a double espresso is made by performing two single espresso making cycles into a single cup, therefore please do not remove the cup while the coffee making is in progress.

  4. After making a double espresso the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.

  5. To cancel the current function press and hold the DOUBLE ESPRESSO button (23) once again.

MAKING AMERICANO

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.
  2. Check and ensure that the mixer plug (7) is securely closed.
  3. Press and hold the AMERICANO button (22), the appliance will start making the beverage. The button indicator will light continuously during the coffee making process.
  4. After making a cup of Americano the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.
  5. To cancel the current function press and hold the AMERICANO button (22) once again.

MAKING CAPPUCCINO

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.

  2. Fill the milk tank with a desired quantity of cold milk.
    NOTE :
    – The recommended milk temperature is 5 to 10 ⁰С, the fat content should be at least 3 %.
    – The milk quantity should not exceed the MAX mark on the milk tank.

  3. Remove the milk supply tube (5) from the tank lid. Insert the tube into the opening at the side of the removable mixer (7) (to do so you will have to open the valve on the mixer).

  4. Press and hold the CAPPUCCINO button (21), the appliance will start making the beverage. The button indicator will light continuously during the coffee making process.

  5. After making a cup of cappuccino the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.

  6. To cancel the current function press and hold the CAPPUCCINO button (21) once again.

NOTE :

  • After each use, if there is still milk in the milk tank, you may store the tank in a refrigerator; however the milk supply tube and the mixes should be cleaned without delay.
  • It is recommended to use a high cup so that the foamed milk would not be splashed around.

MAKING LATTE

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.

  2. Fill the milk tank with a desired quantity of cold milk.

  3. Remove the milk supply tube (5) from the tank lid. Insert the tube into the opening at the side of the removable mixer (7) (to do so you will have to open the valve on the mixer).

  4. Press and hold the LATTE button (20), the appliance will start making the beverage.
    The button indicator will light continuously during the coffee making process.

  5. After making a cup of latte the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.

  6. To cancel the current function press and hold the LATTE button (20) once again.

HOT WATER

  1. Place a vessel under the coffee discharge opening.
    NOTE : the water vessel should have a minimum capacity of 120 ml.

  2. Check and ensure that the mixer valve (7) is securely closed.

  3. Press and hold the HOT WATER button (19), the appliance will start discharging hot water.

  4. After making a cup of hot water the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.

  5. To cancel the current function press and hold the HOT WATER button (19) once again.

NOTE : do not touch the water vessel with your hands during hot water making. Please be careful not to scald yourself, as some hot steam will still come out of the coffee discharge outlet after making hot water

FOAM
NOTE : upon completion of the FOAM function the boiler overheat protection function will be activated; at this time, if you should wish to activate the HOT WATER function, you will have to turn the appliance off for approx. 3 to 5 minutes; after that the HOT WATER activation will become available again.

  1. Place a vessel for the milk foam under the coffee discharge opening.
    NOTE : the foamed milk cup should have a minimum capacity of 160 ml.

  2. Fill the milk tank with a desired quantity of cold milk.
    NOTE :
    – The recommended milk temperature is 5 to 10 ⁰С, the fat content should be at least 3 %.
    – The milk quantity should not exceed the MAX mark on the milk tank.

  3. Press and hold the FOAM button (18), the appliance will start the manual foam making function.

  4. After making the foam the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.

  5. Press and hold the FOAM button (18) again to cancel the current operation.

CLEANING

  1. Prepare a jug of water.
  2. Remove the milk supply tube (5) from the milk tank (6). Insert the tube into the opening at the side of the removable mixer (7) (to do so you will have to open the valve on the mixer).
  3. Place an empty vessel under the coffee discharge opening.
  4. Press and hold the CLEANING button (17), the appliance will start the manual cleaning function. Water will start to drip from the coffee outlet. Thus residual milk will be expelled from the milk supply tube and the mixer.
  5. Upon completion of the cleaning the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.
  6. Press and hold the FOAM button (18) again to cancel the current operation.

EMPTYING THE COFFEE BEAN CONTAINER

NOTE : this function is used for discarding the beans from the bean container (1). Please use the bean dump function carefully to avoid creating waste.

  1. Press and hold the BEAN DUMP button (25), the appliance will start emptying the container. During this time the button indicator will light continuously; all other function indicators will turn off.
  2. Remove the cake container (14) and empty it.
  3. Upon completion of the operation the appliance will automatically switch to standby mode.
  4. Press and hold the BEAN DUMP button (25) again to cancel the current operation.

NOTE : the bean dump function lasts 15 seconds. If a substantial amount of coffee beans still remains in the container (1), repeat the operation described above.

SLEEP MODE

  • When the appliance is in sleep mode, press and hold the ON/OFF button (16); the appliance will perform a self-check, preheating, automatic cleaning and return to standby mode.
  • When the appliance is in standby mode, press and hold the ON/OFF button (16); the appliance will switch to sleep mode. All indicators will turn off and all functions will become unavailable.
  • In standby mode, if the appliance has at least once been used to make coffee, press and hold the OM/OFF button (16); the appliance will perform an automatic cleaning and then switch to sleep mode. All indicators will turn off and all functions will become unavailable.
  • The appliance will switch to sleep mode when no functions are performed within 28 minutes. All indicators will turn off and all functions will become unavailable.

NOTE :

  • When the appliance is turned off, the automatic cleaning function can be activated by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button (16).
  • For detailed information refer to the TURNING ON AND PREHEATING section.

COFFEE AND MILK OUTPUT QUANTITY SETTINGS

  1. SETTING THE COFFEE OUTPUT QUANTITY
    After the coffee starts flowing out of the appliance press and hold the selected function button for 2 seconds; an audio signal will be emitted and the indicator of the selected button will blink; the appliance will switch to the coffee output quantity setting mode. As soon as the quantity of coffee in the cup reaches the desired level, release the function button; the appliance will stop operating and the newly set quantity will be stored.
    Coffee output quantity adjustment ranges:
    – Espresso: 30 to 100 ml
    – Double espresso: 60 to 200 ml
    – Americano: 110 to 180 ml

  2. SETTING THE MILK OUTPUT QUANTITY
    After the milk starts flowing out of the appliance press and hold the selected function button for 2 seconds; an audio signal will be emitted and the indicator of the selected button will blink; the appliance will switch to the milk output quantity setting mode. As soon as the quantity of milk in the cup reaches the desired level, release the function button; the appliance will stop operating and the newly set quantity will be stored. The milk output quantity setting function is only available for the CAPPUCCINO and LATTE functions.
    Milk output quantity adjustment ranges:
    – Cappuccino: coffee: 30 to 100 ml + milk: 10 to 40 seconds
    – Latte: coffee: 30 to 100 ml + milk: 10 to 40 seconds

  3. RESTORING THE FACTORY SETTINGS
    Simultaneously press and hold the ESPRESSO (24) and DOUBLE ESPRESSO (23) buttons for 2 seconds; all parameters will be restored to factory defaults.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

ATTENTION!
Always disconnect the appliance from power supply and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning. Never submerge the appliance, its power cord and power plug in water or any other liquid to avoid electric shock. Please disconnect the appliance from power supply each time after use.

  1. Wipe the outer surface of the appliance with a soft damp cloth to remove stains; do not use abrasive detergents, as these may scratch the surface. Do not use alcohol-based detergents or solvents.
  2. Drops of moisture may condense in the area above the drip tray or the table top during coffee making. To prevent splashing of the moisture wipe the area with a clean dry cloth after each use of the appliance.
  3. The brewer unit, water tank, milk tank, drip tray, drip tray grille, cake container and door should not be placed into a dishwasher for cleaning.
  4. Drain the water from the drip tray, as well as the grounds from the cake container and thoroughly clean them.
  5. Clean the parts according to the description below.

Remove the internal grinding disk turning it counterclockwise.
Clean the grinding disk with the cleaning brush and drop the ground coffee into the gap.
Clean the grinding chamber with the cleaning brush.
Do not reinstall the grinding disk and turn the grind regulator handle to the operating position. Press the coffee grinder button.
Allow the grinder to work for a while to expel the residue powder from the grinding chamber (please repeat steps 3 and 4 if there  is still coffee powder left inside).
Turn  the  grind  f  ineness regulator counterclockwise.
Reinstall the grinding disk turning it clockwise. Turn the grind regulator handle clockwise. The cleaning is now completed.
Powder dosing channel| Check once a week| Method 1:

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the BEAN DUMP (25) and ESPRESSO (24) buttons for 2 seconds, the button  indicator will flash and  the  door will unlock.
  2. Open the door and loosen the ground coffee in the channel with a toothpick; close the door when the coffee starts to drop down.
  3. Simultaneously press and hold the BEAN DUMP

(25) and ESPRESSO (24) buttons once again; the indicators will go out and the door will lock. Method 2:

  1. If some coffee beans remain in the bean container (1), press and hold the BEAN DUMP  button (25); the appliance will continue operating until the ground coffee blocking the dosing channel is used up; the appliance will then return to normal operating mode.

NOTE: if, during appliance operation, the coffee grind becomes finer or the output coffee batches become smaller after brewing, please check the dosing channel for blockage; the dosing channel should be cleaned once a week.

Brewer unit| Check once a week| Clean coffee residue from around the brewer unit base using a brush.

  1. When the appliance is off, press and hold the CLEANING button (17) for 5 seconds to clean the blind corner of the brewer unit.
  2. After the function is activated the brewer unit will move downwards.
  3. After opening  the brewer  unit door (the appliance is in safety mode) you can clean the blind corner of the brewer unit.
  4. After cleaning close the brewer door.
  5. Press and hold the CLEANING button (17) for 5 seconds to exit the cleaning mode.

MINERAL DEPOSIT REMOVAL
The appliance requires scale removal when the indicators of the HOT WATER (19) and CLEANING (17) buttons blink simultaneously.

  1. Fill the water tank with water and scale removal agent to the MAX mark (water to scale removal agent ratio should be 4:1, see scale removal product manual for details. Please use a domestic scale removal product). You may also use citric acid for scale removal; in this case the water to citric acid ratio should be 100:3.
  2. Place a vessel on the drip tray.
  3. Simultaneously press the HOT WATER (19) and CLEANING (17) buttons; the appliance will start the scale removal procedure.
  4. The whole scale removal procedure will last approx. 10 minutes. The indicators of buttons 15 to 22 will slowly blink from left to right.
  5. Upon completion of the scale removal procedure the indicators of the HOT WATER (19) and CLEANING (17) buttons will stop blinking.

NOTE : the coffee making cycle counter will be reset and restarted upon completion of scale removal. The next scale removal warning will appear after the total coffee making cycle count reaches 500.

TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE

Low coffee beans indicator (А) lights continuously.| No coffee beans in the coffee bean container.| Fill coffee beans into the coffee bean container, then start the appliance to make coffee, whereupon the low coffee beans warning can be cancelled.
Cake container indicator (Е) lights continuously.| Cake container overfilled.|

  • Remove the cake container and internal drip tray for cleaning; the indicator light will go out in 2 seconds.
  • Please contact the customer service department if the problem cannot be solved.

Brewer unit cleaning indicator (С) lights continuously.| Brewer unit contaminated.|

  • Remove the brewer unit for cleaning; the indicator light will go out in 2 seconds.
  • Please contact the customer service department if the problem cannot be solved.

ESPRESSO button indicator (22) and error indicator (D) blink simultaneously.| Grinder motor malfunction.|

  • Turn the appliance off and restart it.
  • Please contact the customer service department if the problem cannot be solved.

Low coffee beans indicator (А) and error indicator (D) blink simultaneously.| This means that the appliance has performed 16 coffee grinding cycles continuously, the time of each cycle is less than 5 minutes. After that the system will have to cool down for 5 minutes, during which no functions will be available.|

  • The appliance will stop for 5 minutes. You may also turn the appliance off and then restart it.
  • Please contact the customer service department if the problem cannot be solved.

HOT WATER indicator
(17) and error indicator
(D) blink simultaneously.| Flowmeter signal failure, water supply malfunction.|

  • Fill the water tank with water.
  • Please contact the customer service department if the problem cannot be solved.

LATTE button indicator

The foam is not thick enough.| Coffee grind  too coarse.| Turn grind fineness regulator clockwise to select the desired grind.

Coffee flows out slowly or drips out.| Coffee is ground too finely.| Turn grind fineness regulator counterclockwise to  select a suitable grind.
Coffee does not flowout from the outlet opening.| Coffee outlet opening blocked.| Clear the coffee outlet opening with a toothpick.
The appliance cannot be activated.| Power plug not connected to electric socket.| Connect the power plug to an electric socket.
Power supply unavailable.| Restore/reconnect to power supply.

Cake container indicator (Е) or brewer unit cleaning indicator (С) light is on.| Cake containers or brewery contaminated.| Always empty the cake container and clean the brewer unit when the appliance is on. Reinstall them after waiting for 3 seconds.
Cake container is not full but the appliance warns to empty the cake container or clean the brewer unit.| The counter will not reset after the cake container is emptied or brewer unit cleaned.| Always wait for 3 seconds after reinstalling the cake container or brewer unit for the counter to reset. Always empty the cake container and clean the brewer unit when the appliance is on. The counter will not  reset if the cake container is emptied or brewer unit cleaned while the appliance is turned off.
The appliance grinds coffee beans but no coffee flows out.| Coffee supply channel blocked (caused by: poorly fried beans, high oil content in the beans).|

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the BEAN DUMP button (25) and ESPRESSO button (24) for 2 seconds; the gate in the brewer  unit compartment will open, the indicators of buttons 24 and 25 will start blinking.
  2. Open the brewer unit compartment lid (12), loosenthe ground coffee in the supply channel with the cleaning brush, then close the lid when the ground coffee drops through.
  3. Then simultaneously press and hold the BEAN DUMP button (25) and ESPRESSO button (24) once again; the button indicators will go out and the gate will automatically close.

Appliance making a loud noise.| Noise during operation is normal.| If the appliance starts to emit an unusual noise, lubricate the brewer unit and contact the customer service department.

DISPOSAL

CERTIFICATION DATA, GUARANTEE

The service life of this item is 5 years since the date of sale to the end user, provided the item will be used in strict accordance with the present manual and the applicable technical standards. Upon expiry of the service life please contact the nearest authorized service centre for suggestions as to further operation of the appliance. The manufacturing date of the appliance is integrated into the serial number (digits 2 and 3 – year, digits 4 and 5 – month of manufacture). DEAR CONSUMER!
The guarantee period for all appliances amounts to 12 months from the date of sale to the end consumer. With this Warranty Card the Manufacturer confirms the proper condition of the appliance and undertakes to repair, free of charge, all defects caused by the Manufacturer’s default.

GUARANTEE MAINTENANCE TERMS

  1. The guarantee shall be valid if the following documentation conditions are observed:
    • The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.
    The Manufacturer reserves the right to reject guarantee maintenance if the buyer fails to provide the abovementioned documents or if the information contained therein is incomplete, illegible or ambiguous.

  2. The guarantee shall be valid if the following operation conditions are observed:
    • the appliance is used in strict accordance with the present manual;
    • the safety rules and requirements are observed.

  3. The guarantee does not apply to regular maintenance, cleaning, installation and setup of the appliance at the owner’s location.

  4. The guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
    • mechanical damage;
    • normal wear of the appliance;
    • non-observance of operation requirements or erroneous actions on the part of the user;
    • improper installation or transportation;
    • natural disasters (lightning, fire, flood, etc.), as well as any other causes beyond the Manufacturer’s or Seller’s control;
    • ingress of foreign objects, liquids or insects into the inside of the appliance;
    • repairs or modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons;
    • use of the appliance for commercial purposes (loads exceeding normal domestic application), connection of the appliance to utility and telecommunication networks incompliant with national technical standards;
    • failure of the following accessories, if replacement of these is allowed by design and does not involve disassembly of the appliance:
    a) remote control units, rechargeable batteries, replaceable batteries (power cells), external power supply units and chargers;
    b) consumables and accessories (packaging, covers, slings, carry bags, mesh screens, blades, flasks, plates, supports, grilles, spits, hoses, tubes, brushes, nozzles, dust collectors, filters, smell absorbers);
    • for battery-powered appliances – operation with inappropriate or depleted batteries;
    • for rechargeable battery-powered appliances – any damage caused by improper battery charging and recharging.

  5. The present guarantee is provided by the Manufacturer in addition to the consumer rights determined by the applicable legislation and does not limit these rights in any way.

  6. The Manufacturer shall not be made liable for possible damage, directly or indirectly inflicted by CENTEK brand products on people, domestic animals, the consumer’s or third persons’ property if such damage is inflicted as the result of non-observance of appliance installation and operation requirements, deliberate or negligent actions (omission) by the consumer or third persons, as well as of force majeure circumstances.

  7. Service centers will only accept appliances in a clean state (there should be no food residues, dust and other contamination on the appliance).
