WARNING: This tip restraint must be attached to a wall stud using the 50mm screw (J) enclosed.

  • Attach one bracket (H) securely to the back top wood panel of the mantel using the 16mm screw (K) through the smaller hole of the bracket. It is highly recommended to pre-drill a 1/16″ hole into the wood mantel to prevent splitting.
  • Position the other bracket (H) on the wall over a wall stud 2 inches below the bracket secured to the back of the mantel. Attach to the wall stud using the 50mm screw (J) through the smaller hole of the bracket.
  • Place the mantel into position so both brackets are in line vertically.
  • Lace the end of the restraint strap (I) through the larger hole in each bracket. Bring both ends together and slide the flat end through the locking end. Pull it through until all slack is removed.
  • Confirm that the strap is securely laced and locked.
