The RS-485 Adapter Type EKA 206 is a product manufactured by Danfoss. It is designed to facilitate communication between devices using the RS-485 protocol. Product Usage Instructions

  1. Start by fixing the RS-485 adapter securely in place.

  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the compatible controller.
  4. Ensure proper Modbus wiring for communication.
  5. Observe the LED indicators on the adapter during operation. The green LED indicates power, the yellow LED indicates data reception (Rx), and the orange LED indicates data transmission (Tx).
  6. Take note of the warning regarding power consumption.
  7. Make sure to operate the adapter within the specified temperature range.
  8. Refer to the list of compatible controllers for proper usage.
  9. Check the certifications and approvals obtained by the adapter.

Warning

  • Installation of the adapter must be done with the controller turned off.
  • Make sure the adapter is installed away from heat sources, direct sunlight, dripping water, and dusty environments.
  • In case of installation in a cold room, do not mount the adapter in the food compartment.
  • The interface cable to connect the adapter to the controller must be ordered separately.
  • Make sure cables are always free of tension and tied by other means to the cabinet.
  • It is important that the installation of the Modbus data communication cable is carried out correctly, at a sufficient distance from high-voltage cables.
