2kW Convector Heater with Timer INSTRUCTION MANUAL

This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.
Important – Please read these instructions carefully before first using product and retain for future reference.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

“Read all instruction before use” and save for future reference.
WARNING:- In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

  1. Do not use the heater unless the feet are correctly attached (for portable status).

  2. Ensure that the outlet socket voltage into which the heater is plugged is in accordance with the indicated voltage on the product rating label of the heater and the socket is earthed.

  3. Keep the power cord away from the hot body of the heater.

  4. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

  5. WARNING : In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater

  6. The meaning of figure in marking is”DONOT COVER”

  7. Indoor use only.

  8. Do not place the heater on carpets having a very deep pile.

  9. Always ensure that the heater is placed on a firm level surface.

  10. Do not place the heater close to curtains or furniture in order to avoid afire hazard.

  11. WARNING: heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.

  12. The Heater can’t be mounted on the wall.

  13. Do not insert any object through the heat outlet or air grilles of the heater.

  14. Do not use the heater in areas where flammable liquids are stored or where flammable fumes may be present.

  15. Always unplug the heater when moving it from one location to another.

  16. WARNING : If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

  17. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge ONLY IF they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  18. Children shall not play with the appliance, cleaning and user mainte- nance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  19. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

  20. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervi- sion and instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
    Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

  21. CAUTION : some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

  22. WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

  23. This product should not be used if it has been dropped, or if there are visible signs of damage

  24. Never attempt repairs yourself. Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Improper repairs may place the user at serious risk and will invalidate the guarantee. Take the appliance to a qualified repair agent.

  25. CAUTION : Do not allow cleaning robots to operate in the same room without supervision.

  26. To avoid any risk of overloading your plug socket, the use of an extension lead with this appliance is not recommended.

  27. Never overload an extension lead by plugging in appliances that together will exceed the maximum current rating stated for the extension lead.
    This could cause the plug in the wall socket to overheat and possibly cause a fire.

  28. If using an extension lead, check the current rating of the lead before plugging appliances into it and do not exceed the maximum rating.

  29. Do not use this heater if it has been dropped.

  30. Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the heater.

  31. Use this heater on a horizontal and stable surface.

  32. WARNING: Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

  33. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or any other flammable material a minimum distance of 1 m from the air outlet.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION

Fitting the Feet
NOTE:
Before using the heater, the feet must be fitted to the unit,

  1. Carefully turn the unit upside down.
    Use the Screws C to fix the Feet B onto the Heater A. Take care to ensure that they are located correctly in the bottom ends of the Heater side moldings. See fig. 1.

WARNING:
Position the Heater carefully.
It must not be in front of or below a power socket. It must not be below a shelf, curtains or any other obstruction. Only Fit 2 screws to each foot (diagonally) in the positions shown by the black circles as shown here.

OPERATION

NOTE:
It is normal when the heater is turned on for the first time or when turned on after having not been used for a long period of time it may emit some odour.
This will disapper when the heater has been ON for a short while.

  1. Choose a suitable location for the heater, taking into account the safely instructions.
  2. Insert the plug of the heater into a suitable mains socket.
  3. Turn the Thermostat Knob fully in a clockwise direction to the maximum setting. See fig. 6.
  4. If not using the Timer, make sure the Timer slide switch is set to the “I” position. 7’;’;
  5. Turn On the heating elements by means of the rocker switches on the side panel.When the heating elements are ON the switches will illuminate. See fig. 6.

For your safety, the heater has a safety) tilt switch in the base which switches the heater off if it is knocked over. For the heater to work it must be standing on a firm and level surface.

GENERAL FEATURES

  1. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the one shown on the product rating plate.
  2. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, switches should be set to off position.
  3. Never pull on the cord when disconnecting the plug from the mains.
  4. The convector should be placed at least a 1.5 metres distance from baths, showers, laundries, etc.
  5. This appliance does not produce electro-magnetic interference.
  6. CAUTION: – Do not use this appliance near a bath, shower or swimming pool.

USING THE TIMER

  1. Set the timerby turning the disc so that the pointer on the timeris the same as the local time. For example at 10:00 AM (10 o’clock) set the disc to the number 10.
  2. Position the slide switch to the clock position ( ).
  3. Set the periods oftime that you wantthe heaterto work each day by pulling the red teeth outward. Each tooth represents 15 minutes.
  4. Tocancel the set time, move the teeth back to the central position. If the heater isrequired torun continuously, set the slide switch on the timer to the position indicated by (1).
  5. To override the timer action slide the switch to either (0) for heat off or (1) for heat on. The clock timer will continue to run but will no longer control the heater.

OPERATION with TIMER in ‘I’ (ON) position

  • Make sure HEATER switches are also in an ON position for the appliance to warm up and set the THERMOSTAT dial to the desired temperature level. (NOTE at MINIMUM ‘Frostguard’ setting the unit will only function when the ambient room temperature drops below around 7 degrees centigrade)
  • With heater switches in the OFF position the unit will not warm up, even when the TIMER is in the ‘I’ (ON) position

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the Heater
– Always unplug the heater from the wall socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
Clean the outside of the heater by wiping with a damp cloth and buff with a dry cloth.
Do not use any detergents or abrasives and donot allow any water to enter the heater.
Storing the heater
– When the heater is not used for long periods of time it should be protected from dust and stored in a clean dry place.
