Operating Instructions

THIS STEAMER IS FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY (for commercial use. Steamer recommends our commercial steamer model Stratus No.2 Professional Steamer.)

Preparations

Remove the water container by pulling it in the opposite direction from the nozzle and lift it out from the steamer. Carefully loosen (do not remove) the rubber plug on top of the water container and fill the container with water. Close the water container with the rubber plug and put it back in position in the steamer. Please note that the water quality is extremely important for the long -term performance of your steamer. For more info about water quality, see the paragraph Water and Water quality below.

Water and Water Quality

Water quality is a true science of its own. The most important aspect for a steamer is that the water is as clean and pure as possible: all in order to minimize the risk of getting residues left in the steamer’s heating device.
We strongly recommend:

  • First and last and always, use bottled or filtered water, i.e. water meant for drinking (this will radically prolong the lifetime of your steamer)

  • Steamer’s Steam Water

  • Distilled water

  • Deionized water, such as battery water
We recommend (with some words of advice):

  • The steamer runs well on regular tap water if you live in an area with soft water.
(Hard water contains a higher amount of limestone and minerals which eventually may compromise the quality of your steamer.

  • Unscented Ironing water
    We DO NOT recommend:

  • Don’t use scented and perfumed steaming water, it will clog the steamer and eventually make it stop working properly

  • Never use other fluids than water

Using Your Cirrus No.1 Steamer

  1. Turn on the steamer by putting the plug into a power outlet and wait 25-30 seconds until the red light turns off. This indicates that the steam has reached the right temperature for use.

  2. While steaming. if the red light goes on, wait a few seconds without pressing the button.
The steam needs to reach the right temperature again.

  3. When using the device for the first time. test steaming first on on old cloth as there might still be dry powder sediment left in the steamer from the manufacturing process.

  4. Steam your preferred garment by hanging it on a hanger and move the nozzle over the fabric at the same time as you press the steam button to spray steam on to the garment.
Point the steamer so the steam jets away from you. Do not use the steamer for more than 30 minutes continuously. If you wish to use your steamer for more than 30 minutes. let it cool off for one hour in between uses.

  5. Always unplug the steamer from the power outlet when not in use. Do also empty the water container after use. Steamer does not take any responsibility for wet damaged surfaces. bags or other possessions.

How To Steam Your Garments

(And How to Use the Extra Tools)

Steaming your clothes is not difficult. but you will find your own way. Here ore some tips:

  1. Hang your garment properly on a separate hanger.
  2. Move the steam over the fabric. It may take a few swipes for the creases to disappear completely.
  3. Try steaming from the inside to reach difficult areas.
  4. For sensitive fabrics such as silk and wool. we recommend that you u attach the fabric brush onto the steam head (included in the package).
WARNING: Be extra careful when you attach the fabric brush, to avoid getting burned. Always unplug the steamer and let it cool down before you attach the brush.
