Garage Door Insulation Kit – How to Measure – Instructions
We cut all the insulation panels to size, length, width, and thickness.
Essentially, you would measure the garage door sections to have the panels
slotted in behind the flanges of the garage door. Please see the below simple
steps to measure each section. Please ensure you measure each section as all
might not be the same size.
For the length of the panels, from the inside of the flanges, you measure
directly from left to right.
For the width, you would measure from up inside the top lip of each section to
the top of the bottom lip. (Not to the inside of the bottom lip – as it would
be impossible for the panels to slot in the cavity). As for the thickness, you
would measure the depth of the slot into which the panels would be slotted. We
would recommend adding 1mm onto the thickness to allow it to be snug/firm in
place when installed (This is only optional). If/When the thickness, length,
or width of the panel is slightly more and is not slotting in easily –
sandpaper can be used to sand back a couple of millimeters to suit.
