Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time
required.
This installation requires:
- Trim or removal of underbody panel
- Loosening of the canister
- Lowering of the exhaust
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure.
To help prevent damage to the product or vehicle, refer to the specified torque specifications when securing hardware during the installation process.

CONICAL TOOTHED WASHER ORIENTATION
Step 1
If present, remove the underbody panel that secures to the bumper cover by
removing seven push pins with a screw driver, six nuts with a 10mm socket and
loosen the two plastic zip nuts in the center of the panel with a 15mm socket.
Step 2
On gas models, lower the canister on the driver side as well as the exhaust by removing the two nuts and one bolt securing them using a 13mm socket. Unhook the two muffler hangers. Support both canister and exhasut while installing the hitch.
Step 3
Trim the bumper cover tab off in the center of the vehicle.
Step 4
Raise the hitch into position and loosely install the supplied hex head cap
screws (#1) and conical tooth washers (#2).
Note: On some models there will be a gap between the side plates and
frame. Use the supplied spacers as needed between the frame and side plates to
fill the gap.
Step 5
Torque all 10mm fasteners to 48 ft-lbs.
Step 6
If lowered in step 2, reinstall the canister on the driver side and raise the exhaust back into position. Rehook the hangers.
Step 7
If removed in step 1, trim the underbody panel as shown and reinstall
