  • 1-1/8 (28mm) wrench
  • Removable thread lock
  • 19mm socket
  • Small screwdriver

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Open both saddlebags and remove the side panels by pulling them off from the front first.
  2. Starting on the right side, remove the pillion step cover. Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolt on the top. Use a small screwdriver to push in the center of the two plastic rivets to release them. Use a 3mm Allen wrench to remove the small screw on the underside near the front.
  3. Repeat step 2 for the left pillion step cover.
  4. Remove the rear key access panel.
  5. Using a 5mm Allen wrench, remove the Allen screws and remove the rear fender by pulling it from the bottom.
  6. Unplug the plate light connector by pushing the release tab.
  7. On the left side, using a 12mm socket and a 6 socket extension, remove the bolt located under the pillion step cover.
  8. Replace the bolt with one of the M8 x 50mm bolts supplied. Put two flat washers on the bolt before installing it in the bike.
  9. On the left side, find the black bolt located between the bottom of the saddlebag and the top of the muffler cover. Using a 12mm socket and extension, remove the bolt and replace it with one of the fully threaded M8 x 60mm bolts supplied. Reuse the OEM washer.
  10. Repeat steps 7 through 9 on the right side of the bike.
  11. Go to the back of the bike and using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts holding the rear fender support. These two bolts will be reused.
  12. On the inside of both M8 x 60mm long bolts, place an 8mm jam nut and tighten it against the muffler nut.
  13. Place an 8mm steel washer, a rubber washer, and another steel washer on both sides.
  14. Place the left side rail from the trailer hitch kit on the new bolts. Start a washer and lock nut on each bolt but do not tighten yet.
  15. Repeat step 14 on the right side and install the right side rail from the trailer hitch kit.
  16. Assemble the receiver mount to the side rails using four M8 x 25mm bolts. Place a flat washer and lock nut on the inside of each bolt.
  17. Tighten the four M8 x 25mm bolts close to tight but so you can still adjust the position of the receiver mount. Using a small level, move the receiver mount until it is straight. Tighten the four M8 x 25mm bolts.
  18. Place the silver-colored left and right support braces. Use the supplied M6 x 16mm long bolt and lock nuts on the bottom holes and through the hitch. Do not tighten yet.

PLEASE READ THROUGH AND UNDERSTAND THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING. USE REMOVABLE THREAD LOCK ON ALL FASTENERS ESTIMATED

INSTALLATION TIME: 60 TO 90 MIN. INSTALLATION IS EASIER IF YOU REMOVE THE REAR WHEEL BUT IS NOT NECESSARY

INSTALLATION

  1. OPEN BOTH SADDLEBAGS AND REMOVE THE SIDE PANELS BY PULLING THEM OFF FROM THE FRONT FIRST. SEE FIG. 1
  2.  STARTING ON THE RIGHT SIDE REMOVE THE PILLION STEP COVER. USE A 10MM SOCKET AND REMOVE THE BOLT ON THE TOP. USE A SMALL SCREWDRIVER AND PUSH IN THE CENTER OF THE TWO PLASTIC RIVETS TO RELEASE THEM. USE A 3MM ALLEN WRENCH TO REMOVE THE SMALL SCREW ON THE UNDER SIDE NEAR THE FRONT.
  3. REPEAT STEP 2 FOR THE LEFT PILLION STEP COVER.
  4. REMOVE THE REAR KEY ACCESS PANEL SHOWN IN FIG. 3. PULL IT TOWARD YOU TO REMOVE IT.
  5. USING A 5MM ALLEN WRENCH REMOVE THE ALLEN SCREWS SHOWN IN FIG. 4. REMOVE THE REAR FENDER BY PULLING IT FROM THE BOTTOM.
  6. UNPLUG THE PLATE LIGHT CONNECTOR BY PUSHING THE RELEASE TAB SHOWN IN FIG. 5.
  7. ON THE LEFT SIDE USING A 12MM SOCKET AND A 6” EXTENSION REMOVE THE BOLT SHOWN IN FIG. 6 THAT WAS LOCATED UNDER THE PILLION STEP COVER.
  8.  REPLACE THE BOLT YOU REMOVED WITH ONE OF THE M8 X 50MM BOLTS SUPPLIED. PUT TWO FLAT WASHERS ON THE BOLT BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT IN THE BIKE. SEE FIG. 7. TIGHTEN.
  9. ON THE LEFT SIDE FIND THE BLACK BOLT SHOWN IN FIG. 8. IT IS IN BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE SADDLEBAG AND THE TOP OF THE MUFFLER COVER. USING A 12MM SOCKET AND EXTENSION REMOVE THE BOLT AND REPLACE IT WITH ONE OF THE FULLY THREADED M8 X 60MM BOLTS SUPPLIED. REUSE THE OEM WASHER AND TIGHTEN.
  10. REPEAT STEPS 7 THROUGH 9 ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BIKE.
  11. GO TO THE BACK OF THE BIKE AND USING A 10MM SOCKET REMOVE THE TWO BOLTS HOLDING THE REAR FENDER SUPPORT SHOWN IN FIG. 9. THESE TWO BOLTS WILL BE REUSED.
  12. ON THE INSIDE OF BOTH M8 X 60MM LONG BOLTS (FROM STEP 9) PLACE AN 8MM JAM NUT AND TIGHTEN IT AGAINST THE MUFFLE NUT AS SHOWN IN FIG. 10.
  13. PLACE AN 8MM STEEL WASHER THEN A RUBBER WASHER AND THEN STEEL WASHER AS SHOWN IN FIG. 10 ON BOTH SIDES.
  14. PLACE THE LEFT SIDE RAIL FROM THE TRAILER HITCH KIT ON THE NEW BOLTS YOU INSTALLED AS SHOWN IN FIG. 11. START A WASHER AND LOCK NUT ON EACH BOLT BUT DO NOT TIGHTEN YET.
  15.  REPEAT STEP 14 ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND INSTALL THE RIGHT SIDE RAIL FROM THE TRAILER HITCH KIT.
  16. ASSEMBLE THE RECEIVER MOUNT TO THE SIDE RAILS AS SHOWN IN FIG. 12. USE FOUR M8 X 25MM BOLTS AND PLACE A FLAT WASHER AND LOCK NUT ON THE INSIDE OF EACH BOLT.
  17. TIGHTEN THE FOUR M8 X25MM BOLTS CLOSE TO TIGHT BUT SO YOU CAN STILL ADJUST THE POSITION OF THE RECEIVER MOUNT. USING A SMALL LEVEL MOVE THE RECEIVER MOUNT UNTIL IT IS STRAIGHT. TIGHTEN THE FOUR M8 X 25MM BOLTS.
  18. PLACE THE SILVER COLORED LEFT AND RIGHT SUPPORT BRACES AS SHOWN IN FIG. 13. USE THE SUPPLIED M6 X 16MM LONG BOLT AND LOCK NUTS ON THE BOTTOM HOLES AND THROUGH THE HITCH AS SHOWN IN FIG. 13. DO NOT TIGHTEN.
  19. TAKE THE REAR FENDER SUPPORT YOU REMOVED AND USING A 5/16” DRILL ENLARGE THE TWO HOLES THAT THE BOLTS GO THROUGH.
  20. USING THE TWO OEM BOLTS YOU REMOVED REINSTALL THE BRACE GOING THROUGH THE TOP HOLES IN THE SUPPORT BRACES AND TIGHTEN.
  21. TIGHTEN THE TWO M6 X 16MM BOLTS AND LOCK NUTS.
  22.  INSTALL THE M8 X 14MM BOLT SUPPLIED IN THE NUT SHOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF FIG. 12. DO NOT TIGHTEN.
  23. REINSTALL THE REAR FENDER, PILLION STEP COVERS, AND SIDE PANELS.
  24. INSTALL THE BALL MOUNT AND THE BALL USING THE SUPPLIED HITCH PIN.
  25. TIGHTEN THE M8 X 14MM BOLT AS NEEDED TO KEEP THE HITCH FROM MOVING WHILE IN USE.
  26. AFTER EACH USE CHECK ALL HARDWARE TO MAKE SURE IT IS TIGHT.
