The Chord OD-50 is an effect pedal designed to give your instrument a new sound dimension. It provides an overdrive effect that emulates an over-driven amplifier, resulting in an aggressive, thrashy, and distorted character to the guitar tone. The sound produced is hard-edged and compressed, making it ideal for various genres of rock music.
The OD-50 pedal comes with the following controls and connections
- Optional 9V DC jack power input
- Effect on/off indicator
- Gain – adjusts the amount of drive/distortion
- 6.3mm jack output – to amplifier
- Tone – adjusts the tonal character of the effect
- Level – adjusts the output level of the effect
- 6.3mm jack input – from guitar
- Effect on/off footswitch
The pedal is powered by a 9V battery, which needs to be connected to the
battery clip inside the underside battery compartment. To access the battery
compartment, carefully remove the plastic cover by squeezing its clip and
levering outwards. Once the battery is fitted, clip the plastic cover back
into place.
An optional external power source can also be used with the OD-50. It requires
a 9V DC adaptor with a centre-negative polarity. It is recommended to use an
adaptor with a rating of 100mA or higher.
When not in use, it is advisable to unplug the guitar input jack to preserve
the battery. If the pedal is not being used for an extended period, it is
recommended to remove the 9V battery.
- Disposal: The Crossed Wheelie Bin symbol on the product indicates that it is classified as Electrical or Electronic equipment and should not be disposed of with other household or commercial waste. Please follow your local council guidelines for proper disposal.

Product Usage Instructions
- Connect the OD-50 pedal to your guitar by plugging the 6.3mm jack input into your guitar’s output jack.
- Connect the 6.3mm jack output of the pedal to your amplifier.
- To power the pedal using the included 9V battery, open the underside battery compartment by carefully removing the plastic cover. Connect the battery to the battery clip, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment by clipping the plastic cover back into place.
- Alternatively, you can power the pedal using an optional 9V DC adaptor. Ensure that the adaptor has a centre-negative polarity and a rating of 100mA or higher. Connect the adaptor to the optional 9V DC jack power input.
- Before turning on the effect, adjust the Gain control to set the desired amount of drive/distortion. Increasing the Gain will result in more distortion.
- To adjust the tonal character of the effect, use the Tone control. This can help tame the edgy sound or make it cut through the mix for solos.
- The Level control adjusts the output level of the effect. If increasing the Gain causes a significant increase in volume, you can balance it by backing off the Level control.
- The Effect on/off footswitch allows you to toggle the effect on or off as desired.
- When not in use, it is recommended to unplug the guitar input jack to preserve the battery. If the pedal will not be used for a long period, it is advisable to remove the 9V battery.
