Rules of Metal Detection

  1. Regulations for using metal detectors vary internationally. Be sure to check the local rules and laws before you start.
  2. Respect private property and do not enter without the owner’s permission.
  3. Never destroy historical or archaeological objects.
  4. If you are not sure whether you have found an object, contact a museum or historical society near you.
  5. Be sure to fill in all holes and try not to leave any damage.
  6. Remove and dispose of any rubbish and litter found.

Operation

  1. Your metal detector comes completely assembled. You only need to install the battery (not included) in the metal detector.
  2. To adjust the length, turn the locking ring located on the shaft of the metal detector counterclockwise.
  3. Adjust to desired length and position the coil to be flat to the ground while in use.
  4. Turn the locking ring clockwise to lock the length of the shaft to the desired position.
  5. To adjust the length of the metal detector to a smaller unit, loosen the locking rings and position the head close to the handle.
Using your metal detector

Before powering on the device position the metal detector so the search coil is away from any metal objects. Then turn the unit on by moving the toggle on the device away from you. You will see a green light showing the power is turned on. Your unit is self-calibrated and needs no further adjustment. Your metal detector is ready to be used in the most sensitive detection setting.

To search for metal objects, swing the metal detector back and forth slowly while keeping the search coil level and approx. 2 cm above the ground. When your metal detector locates a metal object it will start to emit a tone. The more solid and louder the tone, the stronger the signal, which indicates how close the object is to the coil. Your unit also has a signal light that will illuminate when the signal strength is strong. By using both the signal light and the signal tone you will be able to discover many amazing things just below ground.

  • During the search, the LCD display shows [ ]. When the detector finds a metallic object, the red LED lights up. A beep sounds and [ ] appears on the LCD display.
  • When the LCD shows [ ], you need to change the battery.

Playfully explore the world with your metal detector:
With the metal detector, you can uncover what metal objects are hidden underground. Whether on the beach or in your garden – interesting discoveries can be made in many places. And it’s very easy to use. Go straight on a discovery tour!

When to use your metal detector:
A great time to go metal detecting is right after a heavy rain when the ground is soft. Wet ground conducts electricity better than dry ground, so you will have a better chance of locating buried objects than you would walking on dry ground.
This metal detector’s detection coil is water resistant, and it can be used in shallow water after rain. However, it is recommended that you do not submerge the unit for extended time periods.

Places to search:

  1. The beach is a great place to start because you get a few competing signals on a sandy beach and it will be easier to dig there.
  2. At the homes of your relatives–especially those who live in older homes.
  3. Your own front and backyards.

CAUTION:
Please note that this metal detector is not designed for any military or disarming use.

Notes on Cleaning

  • Before cleaning the device, disconnect it from the power supply (remove batteries)!
  • Only use a dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. To avoid damaging the electronics, do not use any cleaning fluid.
  • Protect the device from dust and moisture.
  • Remove the batteries from the unit if it is not used for a longer time.
