Product Usage Instructions

Assembling the Vertical Supports – Option 1 Assembly

  1. Insert the M5 x 35 mm flush mount bolts through the recessed holes on the horizontal rack tube into the vertical rack tube.
  2. Ensure the round side of the vertical support fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support.
  3. Using the torque wrench and T25 torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.
  4. Repeat the process for the second vertical mount.

Assembling the Inner Rack Rails – Option 1 Assembly

  1. The two inner rack rails are used for the thinnest configuration.
  2. Add an M5 washer to each M5 x 40 mm bolt, then thread them through the horizontal rack tube into the inner rack rail.
  3. Ensure the round side of the inner rack rail fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support.
  4. Using the small torque wrench and T25 Torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.
  5. Insert an endplug into each of the open horizontal rack ends.

Assembling the Outer Rack Rails – Option 2 Assembly

  1. For the widest and most open configuration, use the two outer rack rails.
  2. Slide the outer rail pin into the open end of the horizontal rack tube so the holes are aligned.
  3. Insert the male and female bolts through the horizontal rack tube and outer rack rail tube.
  4. Using the small torque wrench, 2.5 mm hex bit, and 3 mm hex wrench, torque the bolts to 4 Nm.

Assembling the Outer and Inner Rack Rails – Option 3 Assembly

  1. The outer and inner rails can be combined to create a protective outer bar for passengers or a more versatile cargo system.
  2. Slide the outer rail pin into the open end of the horizontal rack tube so that the holes are aligned.
  3. Align the inner rack rail tube with the mounting hole.
  4. Add an M5 washer to each M5 x 40 mm bolt, then thread them through the horizontal rack tube into the inner rack rail.
  5. Ensure that the inner rack rail’s round side fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support.
  6. Using the small torque wrench and T25 Torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.

Installing the Rail Mount Brackets

  1. Install a T-nut into the lower rack rail of the rear rack.
  2. Place the corresponding rack tube slider against the rail, aligned with the T-nut.

Rack Configurations

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-3

  • Option 1:  Narrow, passenger configuration
  • Option 2: Wide, cargo side bag configuration
  • Option 3:  Combo, versatile configuration

Assemble the Vertical Supports

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-4

  • Insert the M5 x 35 mm flush mount bolts (A) through the recessed holes on the horizontal rack tube (B) into the vertical rack tube (C).
  • Ensure the round side (D) of the vertical support fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support.
  • Using the Torque wrench and T25 torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.
  • Repeat the process for the second vertical mount.

Option 1: Assembly

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-5

The two inner rack rails (A) are used for the thinnest configuration, which is ideal for carrying small passengers.

  • Add an M5 washer (B) to each M5 x 40 mm bolt (C), then thread them through the horizontal rack tube (D) into the inner rack rail (A). Ensure the round side of the inner rack rail fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support.
  • Using the small torque wrench and T25 Torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.
  • Insert an endplug (x4) (E) into each of the open horizontal rack ends.

Option 2: Assembly

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-6

For the widest and most open configuration, use the two outer rack rails (A). This configuration is ideal for larger passengers and for use with the Cargo side bag.

  • Slide the outer rail pin into the open end of the horizontal rack tube so the holes are aligned.
  • Insert the male (B) and female bolts (C) through the horizontal rack tube (D) and outer rack rail tube (A), then using the small torque wrench and a 2.5 mm hex bit and a 3 mm hex wrench, torque the bolts to 4 Nm.

Option 3: Assembly

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-7

The outer (A) and inner (B) rails can be combined to create a protective outer bar for passengers or a more versatile cargo system.

  • Slide the outer rail pin into the open end of the horizontal rack tube so that the holes are aligned. Then, align the inner rail rack tube with the mounting hole.
  • Add an M5 washer (C) to each M5 x 40 mm bolt (D), then thread them through the horizontal rack tube (E) into the inner rack rail, ensuring that the inner rack rail’s round side fits flush against the outer surface of the horizontal support. Then, using the small torque wrench and T25 Torx bit, torque the bolts to 6 Nm.

Installation

Install the rail mount brackets

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-8

  • Install a T-nut (A) into the lower rack rail of the rear rack.
  • Place the corresponding rack tube slider (B) against the rail, aligned with the holes on the T-nut.
  • Add an M5 washer (C) to each M5 x 14 mm bolt (D), then thread them through the tube slider mounting holes into the corresponding hole in the T-nut and lightly tighten the bolts.
  • All four sliders should not be tightened to the rear rack rail at this stage, as they must slide back and forth for easier cargo rail installation.

The tube sliders are left and right-specific. The taller side faces up, and the arm faces toward the center of the rack.

Install the rail

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-9

  • Slide each vertical rack tube into the corresponding tube slider.
  • Smooth insertion may require moving the sliders along the rack channel to get the correct spacing.
  • With all four vertical tubes in place, gently push the cargo rail down to the lowest position. The forward tubes should align with the cutouts on the wheel cover.
  • Using the torque wrench and 4 mm hex bit, torque all the tube slider bolts to 6 Nm.

Adjust the rail height

AG-2023-Globe-Adjustable-Cargo-Rail-fig-10

  • Pull the rail up or down until the holes in the tube slider align with one of the three sets of holes in the vertical tube, then insert the quick pins (A) and wrap the curved arm around the tube and over the pin to lock it in place (B).

The vertical tube offers three positions:

  • 1: Lowest: Ideal for attaching the Cargo Side Bags.
  • 2: Middle: Provides support for cargo or a low handle position for passengers.
  • 3: Highest: Passenger support and attachment of the fully expanded Cargo Side Bag.

Warning

  • All vertical tubes also offer three M5 threaded holes to attach accessories such as bottle cages.
  • If the cargo rail does not slide smoothly into the tube sliders, loosen the rear tube slider bolts then slide the rail up to a middle pin setting, and re-tighten all bolts. Misaligned tube sliders will increase friction and wear on the vertical tubes.

Safety information

  • WARNING: The Adjustable Cargo Rail is not designed to have a load placed directly on it, such as a large platform. It is intended only for passenger handholds or supporting the Globe Cargo Bags.
