SDI-2000 Portable Silt Density Index Test

Product Information

The product described in the user manual is a Portable SDI Test
Assembly for testing the Silt Density Index (SDI). The model number
of this assembly is SDI-2000. It comes completely assembled in a

Product Usage Instructions

Assemble the Portable SDI Test Assembly by connecting the
Filter Holder, Pressure Gauge, Pressure Regulator, Ball Valve,
Graduated Cylinder, Thermometer, Tubing, and Filter Tweezers as
instructed in the user manual.
If the source water is less than 30 psi, attach the optional
Booster Pump using the provided Pump Assembly Kit. Choose the
appropriate Booster Pump model based on the voltage requirements
(SDI-PU: 115-120VAC, 60Hz / SDI-PE: 230VAC, 50Hz / SDI-PJ: 100VAC,
50-60Hz).
For SDI testing, use the Filters for SDI Testing (SDI-045) with
a micron size of 0.45 and a diameter of 47 mm. These filters come
in a package of 100.
If using the Portable Automatic SDI Testers (Y-SIMPLESDI),
connect the Power Supply and Battery Charger to the tester. Use the
Special Tweezers provided to handle the membranes during
testing.
If necessary, use the 50 micron pre-filter included in the
Y-SIMPLESDI kit for additional filtration before conducting the SDI
test.

442 Natural WaterTM Standard Solution is NIST Traceable and is used in calibrating many test instruments. It is the best choice when measuring boiler and cooling water samples, city water supply, lakes, wells, etc. “442” refers to the combination of salts mixed with deionized water to comprise this standard: 40% sodium sulfate, 40% sodium bicarbonate, 20% sodium chloride. A combination of standard salts is necessary since natural water salt type and concentration can vary greatly by location.
