Before using it the first time
Allow the lamp to charge for at least 8 hours in full sunlight with the ON/OFF switch in the ON position. The ON/OFF switch is located under the solar panel. Once the batteries are fully charged, set the ON/OFF switch to ON. If the lamp does not turn on after dark refer to the Maintenance section.

Find an ideal Place for Solar Light.
Place the solar light in an area where it will receive direct sunlight for at least 8 hours per day. The number of hours the light will illuminate is directly proportional to the hours of sunlight it receives. If the light is placed in a shaded area, it will not be able to fully charge and its illumination time will be limited. Do not place the light near another outdoor lighting like a porch or streetlights. These may fool the sensor and keep the light from coming on, or cause it to turn off automatically
Please note that the battery does not operate the windmill sails, these will only rotate with wind power.

First-time use
There is a button on the battery compartment (located on the Top of the light). Press the button into the “ON” position to start the automatic system.

When the environment turns dark, the solar light will automatically illuminate. The light will only work if there is enough power stored in the battery.

Precautions

  1. Please note, that the light is designed to activate when there is little ambient light. If there are strong light sources nearby, the LED light may be very dim or not work at all.
  2. Although the battery has been charged by the manufacturer, the electricity level may have declined by the time you receive it. Please charge it for a full day to realize maximum performance.
  3. The surface of the solar panel must be kept clean. If it is obscured it will influence the efficiency of charging.

Troubleshooting

If the light does not work please check the following:

  1. Make sure the power switch is in the “ON” position.
  2. Check the battery to make sure that it has secure contact with the terminals.
  3. Ensure that the solar light is placed in a sunny location and not in a shady area. The solar panel faces toward the sun.

Replacing Battery

If the light stops working after it has been used for a long time (about 18 months), the battery may be beyond its lifespan. Please open the cover of the battery compartment to replace the rechargeable battery.

Care and Maintenance Recommendations

  1. Clean the solar panel with a soft sponge every couple of weeks.
  2.  Make sure all connectors are still tight and no water getting in.
  3. During the winter if you can bring it inside and give it a good clean ready for next year?
