Risk of Fire and Flammable Materials

This symbol alerts you to flammable materials that can ignite and cause a fire if you do not take care.

  • The Appliances containing isobutane refrigerant (R600A) (Refer Refrigerant type on spec label at the rear of refrigerator) which is combustible. When transporting and installing the appliance, care should be taken to ensure that no parts of the refrigerating circuit are damaged. spec label
  • If a leak is detected, avoid any naked flames or potential sources of ignition and air the room in which the appliance is standing for several minutes. In order to avoid the creation of a flammable gas air mixture if a leak in the refrigerating circuit occurs, the size of the room in which the appliance is used should correspond to the amount of refrigerant used. The room must be 1m2in size for every 8g of R600a refrigerant inside the appliance. You can identify the amount of refrigerant from label specification at back of appliance

Do not modify Power Cord length. Do not use any extension board & multiple socket outlet. Also Do not share the same power socket outlet with other appliances
Otherwise it will cause electrical shock or fire due to heat generation.

Do not use a damaged or an unspecified power cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a power cord available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
It will cause electrical shock or fire.

Plug in the power socket properly. It should not be loose or inserted half.
Otherwise, it will cause electric shock or fire due to heat generation or electrical shock.

In order to prevent possible electric shock, customer must ensure proper earthing in 3-pin power socket outlet. If you have doubts on whether the appliance in property earthed or the grounding instructions are not completely understood. consul a authorized service center
In the event of an electric short circuit, earthing reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. Improper use of the earthing plug can result in an electric shock.

Do not install the refrigerator a humid, oily or dusty location, or in a location exposed to direct sunlight or to rain splashes.

Opening and closing the door of the refrigerator vigorously may cause the stored food in the refrigerator basket to fall by shock and hurt the foot, so take precautions.

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

Remove water or dust from the power plug and insert it with the ends of the pins securely connected,

Do not splash water on your refrigerator,

  • It may cause short circuit.

Install the refrigerator on a solid and level floor.

  • Installation on an unstable place may cause injury by the refrigerator falling down while opening or closing the door.

Empty the door basket completely before taking it out.

  • Items may fall during removal of basket and cause injury.

While moving the refrigerator, keep the power cord carefully so as not damage it.

  • Damaged power cord may cause electro shock, fire, malfunctioning of the appliance.

Disconnect the power plug during thunder and lighting, or if not in use for a long period of time

  • There is a danger of electric shock of fire.

Do not use the refrigerator if it has been submerged in water without having it checked by a qualified electrician.

  • After water submersion, the appliance may cause electric shock fire and malfunction.

Keep the glass shelves only as per the assembled condition otherwise the Shel stopper may not engage

  • The glass shelf may fall and cause damage. Injury.

In this appliance cyclopentane is used in insulation which require special disposal procedure. Please refer to the waste management guideline provided in this manual

  • If the refrigerant circuit is damaged, the leaking refrigerant (Isobutane a natural occurring flammable) can catch fire if it comes in contact of a naked flame.

When gas is leaked, do not touch the refrigerator or the outlet and ventilate the room immediately

  • This appliance uses a refrigerant gas (Isobutane. amount (30-90g) is combustible. When the gas is leaked due to severe damage during delivering installing or using the refrigerator, any spark may cause fire or bum

Do not fill shelves more than storage area.

  • The items may fall during closing and opening of door and cause damage injurie.

When any strange smell or smoke is detected from the refrigerator, disconnect the power plug immediately and contact the service center.

Location of shelves and other fittings, as supplied by the manufacturer, is for best energy efficiency.

  • Though user may alter the shelf location as per usage requirements.

 CAUTION

To reduce the risk of minor injury to persons, malfunction, or damage to the product or property when using this product. follow basic precautions, including the following.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as

    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    • bed and breakfast type environments;
    • catering and similar non-retail applications.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safely

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • If the appliance is equipped with a lock (some models only), keep the key out of reach of children

  • Ensure proper placement of Tray Fresh Room otherwise Defrost water water will drip inside the refrigerator

  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

  • Never store chemicals and explosives near the refrigerator, such as gas cylinder etc.

  • Do not touch the Backside of Refrigerator. It may become hot during normal operation.

  • Do not put hot or warm utensils directly on cold shelf and also do not use warm water for cleaning cold shelf.

  • It may break and cause injury

  • Do not keep cooking oils in the refrigerator or freezer. Follow the oil manufacturer’s instructions for storing it cooking oils may solidify in the refrigerator and may turn non-usable.

  • Once the frozen food is thawed, it may not be suitable for re-freezing. Follow the instructions of the frozen food manufacturer as mentioned on the packaging.

  • Do not hit the glass with sharp objects or high force. The glass may break and cause injury or damage

  • Do not let the free length of cord lie on the floor. The it in loop  it may get damaged or crushed by heavy objects

  • Do not place glass containers, bottles or cans (especially those containing carbonated drinks) in the freezer compartment, shelves or ice bin that will be exposed to temperatures below freezing Do not store glass bottles in Freezer, glass can shatter when the content is freeze and cause injury.

  • Do not open the door or use with children nearby. They may get injured by door / shelves.

  • Your refrigerator contains liquid (refrigerant, lubricant) made of recyclable materials. All these materials must be sent recycling waste disposal site as they can be reused after a specific recycling process.

  • Remove accumulated defrost water regularly from tray drip by using objects such as sponge to avoid breeding of Mosquitos & prevent the occurrence of diseases like dengue, malaria etc. While removing the water from tray drip please do it gently as it may generate stress on joint which may result in gas leakage.

Cleaning

  • When cleaning the inside or outside of the appliance, do not wipe it with a rough brush, toothpaste, or flammable materials. Do not use cleaning agents containing flammable substances.

  • This may cause discoloration or damage to the appliance.

  • Flammable substances: alcohol (ethanol, methanol, isopropyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, etc.), thinner, bleach, benzene, flammable liquid, abrasive, etc

During Vacations

  • During average length vacations, you will probably find it best to leave the refrigerator in operation. Place freezable items in freezer for longer life. When you plan to be away for an extended period, remove all food, disconnect the power cord, clean the interior thoroughly, and leave each door OPEN to prevent odour formation. To operate again, let the refrigerator run for 6-8 hrs. for stabilization.

shifting

  • While shifting the refrigerator, two people should carry it for its safety. Fasten the door with tape or lock to prevent opening of the refrigerator.

  • Always remove Gasket when discarding Refrigerator

Dimensions and Clearances

  • Too small of a distance from adjacent items may result in degradation of freezing capability and increased electricity costs. Allow over 50mm clearance from each adjacent wall when installing the appliance.

Installation

Refrigerator Levelling of should be located properly in ventilated area. refrigerator should be done with front legs. Refrigerator should be levelled with front to back inclination for base.

  • In case of Base stand model leveling of refrigerator should be done with front leg of Base Stand

  • In selected models only.

After installing the appliance connect the power plug of appliance into a 3-pin power socket outlet with proper earthing and polarity of Plug Live and Neutral pin should match with pairing socket.

Ambient Temperature

  • The appliance is designed to operate within a limited range of ambient temperatures, depending on the climate zone. Do not use the appliance at a temperature exceeding the limit. The internal temperatures could be affected by the location of the appliance, the ambient temperature, the frequency of door opening and so on.
  • Performance may vary outside specified Ambient Temperature Range

The climate class can be found on the rating label.• Australia, India, Kenya

Note: The appliances rated from SN to T are intended to be used at an ambient temperature between 10°C and 43°C.

Identification of Control

For the best efficiency of refrigerator, push the defrost knob. after every 3 days/ Ice level reaches defrost indicator.

Specially designed knob gives you facility to control temperature inside Refrigerator.

Operating Procedure

DEFROSTING GUIDE AND CAUTION

  1. Defrost Guide natural Frost and its Effect on Refrigerator

a) Natural Frost and its Effect on Refrigerator

  • The frost and ice accumulate due to the regular opening and closing of the door, causing humid in the air to enter the refrigerator and come in contact with the freezer
  • The frost accumulated on the freezer parts prevents proper cooling of the fresh food compartment as the accumulated ice acts as an insulator for the cooling process.

(b) Defrosting

  • Defrosting is the process of removing excess frost and ice from freezer components to maintain proper
  • Defrosting process improves the operating efficiency of the refrigerator and hence the energy consumption.

c) Starting. During & After Defrost

  • This appliance comes with a semi-automatic defrosting provision.
  • Users can start the defrosting process by pressing the defrost button.
  • For Display model Users can start the defrosting process by pressing and holding the defrost button display for 3 seconds.
  • During the defrost process, the compressor will not operate so as the ice and frost could melt.
  • Defrosted water will flows to Tray Fresh Room and small water may dropping other place. In this case, swipe or remove water with dried Dishcloths
  • Once the defrosting is complete, the refrigerator cooling will restart automatically.
  • For the best efficiency of refrigerator, Push the defrost knob after every 3 days/Ice level reaches defrost indicator.

Caution

  • Before defrosting user shall ensure that no Ices, ice cream or Frozen foods are stored in the freezer, as it may melt or thaw.
  • Not defrosting the refrigerator periodically may
    • Deteriorate the operating efficiency of the refrigerator
    • Food items stored in the fresh food compartment and vegetable compartment may get stale due to the rise in temperature of these compartments
  • Do not use sharp tools to remove ice tray, otherwise you may puncture the evaporator/Freezer resulting gas leakage thus non performance of refrigerator
  • ICE MAKING
    Fill ice trays with water, place in freeze Box. To remove ice cube, gently twist Ice

OPEARTING PROCEDURE OF DISPLAY

Fridge
Press Fridge button to control the Refrigerator temperature

Express Cool
This feature is provided for fast cooling and quick ice making. To activate this mode, press & hold ‘Express Cool’ for 3 seconds. In this function, the compressor operate at maximum cooling capacity to quickly lower the refrigerator temperature. It shuts off automatically once optimum temperature is achieved. In case of power cut the refrigerator will come out of Express Cool’ mode. Fridge Express Cook

B) Defrost

Press the defrost button in case of excess ice and hold for 3 seconds, For best performance of refrigerator, press defrost button every three days “Lock Smart Connect

C) Lock

Lock feature is provided to lock the display controls. Hold the lock button for 3 seconds to activate the function. To Deactivate again press for 3 seconds

Smart Connect

Auto Smart Connect feature implies that the appliance is capable of automatically switching to backup power sources in absence of regular power source. LED light on means Backup Power source is in use.

Minimum Requirement for Smart Connect UPS/Inverter should be in ON condition having minimum 600VA capacity along with minimum 120Ah capacity battery connected with the refrigerator’s power supply socket.

  1. While using this feature, the refrigerator will work on basic energy requirement as required by the product.
  2. The results of the Smart Connect feature may vary depending on the number of appliances that are running on inverter.
  3. For optimum running of refrigerator during Smart Connect Mode, it is recommended to switch off the other appliances which are not in USE
  4. It is recommended to confirm the quality of food items before consumption.

Lamp / LED Replacement

NOTE

  • Not all appliance bulbs will fit your refrigerator. Be sure to replace the bulb with one of the same size, shape and wattage. Refer Lamp enclosure for wattage
  • Unplug the power cord from the outlet
  • Remove the lamp cover by pulling outside
    • Make sure the bulbs are cool to touch.
    • Care should be taken while removing/ fixing lamp as the glass may crack/break & CAUTION cause injury
  • Remove the lamp by turning it counter clockwise.
  • Put new lamp and tighten it by turning it clockwise
  • Make sure the bulb is properly tightened.
  • Put the cover lamp back and push it gently with your thumb till a click sound appears.
  • LED replacement must be done by LG service engineer only

How to get good results

  • When storing the food, cover it with vinyl wrap or store in a container with a lid. this prevents moisture from evaporating and helps food to keep it taste and nutrients,

  • Don’t keep hot milk or hot food in your refrigerator. This will result in an increased temperature and increase in power consumption.

  • Do not leave refrigerator open for long time. Don’t open the refrigerator door too often, hot air will enter and increase the temperature.

  • Never overload your refrigerator or cover the shelves with paper or plastic sheets as it will reduce its efficiency.

  • Close the door properly, make sure that there is no gap between the gasket and the cabinet of your LG refrigerator.

  • Wipe excessive moisture on food or place it inside containers or plastic net bags. This will help in retaining its freshness for a longer period of time.

  • Feel free to call your LG Customer Information Centre (CIC)/ Branch/LG Representative in case your refrigerator has suffered a damage in transit LG Customer Information Centre.

  • It is recommended to use Voltage Stabilizer (0,5kVA) if power fluctuations are frequent and out of specified voltage range (135-290V)*. Stabilizer usage helps in increasing the refrigerator life. For inverter models specified voltage range is 90V-310V

  • If there are chill compartments in the appliance, do not store vegetables and fruits with higher moisture compartments as they may freeze due to the lower temperature. content in the chill compartments as they may freeze due to the lower temperature.

  • In the event of a blackout, call the electricity company and ask how long it is going to last

  • Check the condition of food before consuming

  • if you are leaving the appliance turned off for an extended (more than or equal to 3 days) period of time, remove all food and unplug the power cord. Clean the interior, and leave the doors slightly ajar to prevent

Disposal of your old appliance (as per e-waste Rules)4

    b. The blowing agent cyclopantane is highly flammable liquid and vapour Harmful to aquatic life. Contact with liquid may cause cold burns/frostbites. Repeated exposure causes skin dryness.

Formation of droplets on the underside of the Chiller tray| Hot and humid climate| During the monsoon, when the humidity in the atmosphere reaches around 90%, water droplets may form around the sides of the refrigerator cabinet, especially the top portion. This moisture should be wiped off periodically. Contact our serviceman to check the door seal or proper and uniform contact with the cabinet.
 Smell and odour| Improper covering and wrapping of food| In hot and humid weather the moist air rushes inside whenever the refrigerator door is opened. This results in excess frosting on the Evaporator and condensation on the Chiller tray bottom. Avoid too frequent door openings.
7. Noise| Normal cut-off/ cut-in noise| Wrap and cover food stuffs properly. Place caps on bottles and other liquid stores. If the smell persists, defrost the refrigerator, remove all foodstuffs, clean the refrigerator thoroughly and wipe it dry before restarting.
8. Noise from Freezer| Hissing noise from Freezer| Whenever refrigerator starts & stop there is noise of Thermostat cut-off/ cut-in & Compressor start/stop. This is a normal phenomenon. This is normal gas expansion noise
 Bulb does not glow| Bulb fused| Bulb is not covered under warranty LG Service Engineer will replace this on cost basis.

9 YEAR ADDITIONAL WARRANTY ON COMPRESSOR

The 9 year warranty on Compressor will continue even after Compressor only. Gas/ Gas charging will be Inoperative. During the additional suction line, overload the expiry of 1 year period from the date of purchase. This warranty covers charge to customer. Gas charging is included only when compressor is defective & warranty period, it does not cover any part such as PCB assembly, condenser, freezer, capillary, protector, relay, thermostat etc.. Standard visiting charges will be applicable within the municipal limit of town where LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. (LGEIL) has its Authorized Service centre, Service outside municipal limit will attract to and fro travailing, other incidental expenses in addition to visiting charges, as prevailing from time to time. During the warranty period, only the parts replaced or repaired shall be free of cost, but service charges shall always be payable

  1. Common TERMS & CONDITIONS applicable for warranties as mentioned above: 1. The warranty is confined to the first purchaser of the Refrigerator only & is non-transferable.
  2. Repairs & replacements will be carried out through the Authorized Service Centres of LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd. (hereinafter referred as LG or LGEIL), Customer may place their service call through the LG customer care or through the dealer from whom the product has been purchased. In case the customer shifts the place of residence during warranty period, it is advised to contact our helpline.
  3.  Repair under warranty shall be carried out by an authorized service personnel only. The details of centralized helplines are attached.
  4. For units installed beyond municipal limits of the jurisdiction of company’s Authorized Service Centre, it is responsibility of the purchaser to contact the nearest authorized service centre and bring the unit to the authorized service at its own cost and risk. All expense incurred in collecting the units or parts thereof from the company’s authorized service centre, as well as expenses incurred with deputing of service personnel/technician toward conveyance and other incidentals etc. will be borne by the customer. Local charges for transportation and handling charges may vary from location to location. Customers are advised to verify before. In case the customer desires to bring the unit on its own to the Authorized Service Centre, the same shall be at its own risks & consequences.
  5. The concerned authorized service centre will advise the customer whether to effect the repairs at site or at the authorized service centre
  6.  Call registered with the centralized helpline/Authorized service centre, wherein only cleaning of the unit/parts in the unit due to dust accumulation on portions of the units are not to be considered as defects
  7. In case of repairs or replacement of any parts of the unit, this warranty will thereafter continue and remain in force only for the unexpired period of the warranty. LGEIL may use parts that are new or refurbished and equivalent to new in performance and reliability. Replacement of parts would be purely at the discretion of LGEIL alone. In case the replacement of the entire unit is being made, (subject to the sole discretion of LGEIL), the same model shail be replaced and in the event such model has been discontinued, it shall be replaced with the model price equivalent at the time of purchase.
  8. In case of any damage to the product/customer abuse/repairs by un-authorized personnel’s/misuse detected/ by the Authorized Service Centre personnel, the warranty conditions are not applicable and repairs will be done subject to availability of parts and on a chargeable basis only.
  9. This warranty shall not cover any consequential or resulting liability, damage or loss to property or life arising directly or indirectly out of any defect being noticed in the equipment during warranty period Refrigerator. The company’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repair or providing replacement of defective parts only under the warranty period.
  10. The company or its Authorized Service Centre reserves the right to retain any part/s or component replaced its discretion, in the event of defect being noticed in the equipment during warranty period.
  11. While the company will make every effort to carry out repairs at the earliest, it however is made expressly clear that the company is under no obligation to do so in a specified period of time.
  12. In the event of any unforeseen circumstance, and spares not being available, the company’s prevailing depreciation rules may apply on the purchaser to accept as a commercial solution in lieu of repairs.
  13.  If any coloured internal or external components are replaced, there will be commitment to ensure that the shades match with the original or other components. The replaced shades, patterns, tints may vary from the customer’s unit due to continuous usage of the unit. Any matching components changed at customer’s request will be chargeable basis except the component which actually needed.
  14. Free Installation or Demo of the product, can be availed only once & within 3 months from the date of purchase.
  15. Any extended warranty offered by LGEIL has to be supported by relevant proof.
  16. Warranty shall expire after the warranty period as mentioned above even if the Refrigerator may not be in use for any time during the warranty period for any reason.
  17. Only courts in state of Delhi and places where LGEIL has its branch office shall have the jurisdiction for settling any claims, disputes arising under the warranty.
  18. Warranty is not applicable in any of the following cases where:

a ) the warranty card is not completed properly at the time of purchase, b ) the completed warranty card is not presented to authorized service personnel at the time of service of the product, c ) the product is not operated according to instructions given in the Operating Instruction Booklet/Owner’s Manual, d ) the product is used for commercial purposes, e ) the product has failed under certain conditions like water logging, flood, fire, misuse etc., f ) defects/malfunction are caused by improper or reckless use, which shall be determined by the company personnel, g ) any repair work is carried out by persons other than authorized service personnel, h ) defect/malfunction are caused which are beyond control like lightening, abnormal voltage, Acts of God, virus etc., i ) any issue is caused by usage of 3rd party product like voltage stabilizer, power outlet socket, MCB, extension board etc., j ) defects/malfunction caused while in transit to service centre or purchaser’s residence, k ) defects caused by rodents bite or by pests and vermin ants/Insects/animals/birds etc., I ) the serial number is deleted, defected or altered, m ) damage is caused to the product or any part’s due to transportation or shifting, n ) use of knife or sharp instrument is used to remove the ice trays or Ice from the freezer or to remove the frost mechanically and as a result Compressor, Evaporator, Condensers, capillary, suction line & other related items get spoiled, o ) any accessory external to the equipment are supplied by dealer or LG, p ) any issue of Wi-Fi connectivity or compatibility with other products or software’s is there, q) any loss of data.
