WARNINGS
Read, understand, and follow these instructions to ensure safe operation. Failure to observe these warnings can result in risk of fire, electric shock, serious injury, and/or property damage.

  • DO NOT use the product if it is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified equipment may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire or risk of injury.
  • DO NOT subject to excessive vibration, impacts, or drops. The housing may not show signs of damage, but internal components may have been compromised. It is advisable to replace the unit if any such severe events occur
  • DO NOT expose to open flame, heat sources, equipment that produces heat, or extremes in environmental temperature.
  • DO NOT attempt to repair the solar panel. There are no user-serviceable parts.
  • DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids. Avoid spilling liquids into any ports or openings on the device.
  • DO NOT let solid foreign objects, such as dirt or job site debris, get into any ports or openings on the device.
  • DO NOT route power cables through areas where they can be stepped on or pinched by other objects.
  • DO NOT attempt to insert other USB connector types into USB-A port. NOT intended for use with plug types or adapters not listed on the product label.
  • STOP use immediately if any wires become loose or electronic components are exposed.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING: Be sure the solar panel is disconnected from all power sources and devices. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the solar panel surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. If necessary, dampen a clean cloth with a mix of mild
soap and water to clean the solar panel surface.
NOTE – Scratching the solar panel surface will impact the performance of the panel.
STORAGE: Store in cool temperatures and mild humidity. Avoid storing the device in direct sunlight while not in use (see GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS). Leaving the device in a vehicle or other confined spaces in extremely hot temperatures can lead to a decrease in service life, overheating, or fire. Extremely cold temperatures below the specified storage range can also harm the performance and service life of the device. Keep away from corrosive chemicals and gases. After taking the device out of storage, inspect visually to make sure the device and all accessories look satisfactory. Allow the device to return to ambient conditions before using.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO USE: Unfold the panel and align to the sun. It is recommended to prop the kickstand of the first panel before unfolding the next panel. Prop that panel before unfolding the next panel again. Ensure that no part of the panel is in the shade. Connect the output cable (APP® Compatible Connector) to the charging port of the portable power station and begin charging.
USB CHARGING: The solar panel has the capability to supply regulated 5V output through the USB-A port. Connect your device that charges via USB-A (5V) to the USB-A Port.
SOLAR PANEL PLACEMENT: Place the solar panel flat on the ground, or utilizing the kickstand(s) on the reverse side, raise the panel to point toward the sun for improved solar charging capability.
NOTE – The solar panel will generate the optimal power output when the panel is directly facing the sun.
The power output module has four power output indicators 9 that may be used to help position the panel to deliver optimal power. The panels are in an optimal position when the four indicators are illuminated. It is only possible to illuminate all four
indicators when the device is connected to a load capable of drawing more than 150W of continuous power.
NOTE – Regardless of panel positioning, if a load draws less than 50W (including no load), only one indicator will illuminate. If a load draws from 51W-100W of continuous power, only two indicators will illuminate.

CHAINING: Connecting additional Klein Tools solar panels (Cat. No. 29251 200W, 29250 60W) is allowable using the input port (APP® compatible connector). If pairing a Cat. No. 29250 60W panel with a Cat. No. 29251 200W panel, it is recommended to connect the output of the 60W panel to the input of the 200W panel to get maximum power out of the pair. The input connector is unregulated, allowing a direct pass-through of power from the additional solar panel to the output port.
NOTE – If connecting to a non-Klein Tools system through the MC4 adapter kit (29215 – Sold separately), confirm first that the inputs and outputs of the other system are within spec of the solar panel.
