WATER HEATER KEY PARTS & FEATURES

TANK : Tank is used to store water. Primarily, these tanks are made in two different materials as under:

• GLASSLINECOATEDTANK : Made of mild steel with glass line coating on the inside of the tank to prevent corrosion. Suitable for both soft and hard water.
• STAINLESS STEEL (SSJ TANKS : Made of 55304 grade stainless steel, designed to be corrosion free with long life.

INSULATION : It is used to keep the water inside the tank hot for a longer period of time. Different materials like the glass wool or puf are used for insulation.
INDICATORS : Indicators are used to indicate Power and heating of water heater respectively.

SAFETY SYSTEMS

Safety devices may vary depending on the models requirements & specifications:

a. PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE (PRVJ: This safety device is used to control or limit the pressure inside the tank.
b. THERMOSTAT & THERMAL CUT OUT: Thermostat and Thermal Cut-out are primary and secondary temperature control devices, respectively.
Thermostat is primarily an auto-temperature control device which controls the temperature within a set temperature range.
Thermal cut-out is secondary backup device which operates in the case of failure of the Thermostat & it is manually resettable.
This also helps to prevent dry-heating of the element in case your water heater is operated without water.

CAUTION : Above safety devices are pre-set at particular parameter and should not be tampered with. Any tampering with the setting can be Hazardous. Warranty will Void if the Factory setting is tampered.

INSTALLATION

• The installation must be carried out by the qualified service personnel, as per the provided instructions and in compliance to the local authority regulations.
• Unit should be installed as near as possible to the service point, in order to reduce the heat loss in the pipes. To facilitate maintenance, allow a minimum distance of 250mm between the water heater top and ceiling and 250mm between the water heater bottom and ground for easy access.
• It is recommended to use only Hindware authorised accessories to mount the water heater.

PIPE CONNECTION

• All piping parts are with thread size of BSP-1/2″
• All water supply pipes must be thoroughly cleaned before connection.
• Connect the hot water pipe to the outlet pipe (marked red).
• Do not over-tight the safety valve and other joints as it may cause them damage.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

• The water heater should be connected and powered only by single-phase220-240 V AC/SOHz main supply.
• The earthing conductor must be connected to earth or lead the earth wire to the terminal provided, indicated by the symbol.
• This connectivity is absolutely necessary for safety reasons.
• All wiring-connections must be checked by the qualified electrician & must confirm to local requirements.
• The water heater must be connected to the electric supply that should be out of reach from the person using the water heater.

NOTE : All plumbing connections must be completed before making the electrical connections. Fill the tank with water and open the hot water tap to let water exit until all the air inside the tank is flushed out.
Power supply should only be switched ON once the water flows out from the outlet pipe. In case of Dry heating of Element, warranty on the heating element would be void.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

• Check all piping connections for leakage before turning ON the water heater.
• Make sure that the tank is filled with water while the water heater is operational, otherwise it may damage the heating element.
• The water heater needs to be operational for a certain time period to reach desired temperature.

IMPORTANT : If steam or boiling water emerges continuously from a supply tap or a drain valve, switch off the electricity to the water heater and contact customer care.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

• If the power cord is damaged. It must be replaced by an authorised service agent in order to avoid any accident and electric shock.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION : Before removing the plastic cover, make sure the power is turned off to avoid any risk of injury or electric shock

• All maintenance operations must be carried out by the qualified personnel only.
• Before contacting the customer service make sure that the suspected failure is not caused by a temporary lack of water or malfunctioning of the power plug or socket.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY

Hintastica Private Limited., warrants “Instant Water Heater” to the customer against manufacturing defects arising out of faulty or defective materials or workmanship only for the period as mentioned in the Scope of Warranty table from the date of Purchase against the Valid Tax Invoice & Duly Stamped Warranty Card.

We will correct, free of charge, any defects in Product or workmanship within the warranty period from the date of purchase subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. This warranty is confined to first purchaser of the product only.
2. The customer is requested to preserve & present the original invoice along with stamped warranty card for necessary warranty verification as and when required.
3. Warranty shall be valid only for the period as specified in the Scope of Warranty table, irrespective of whether the product has been in use or not for any reason whatsoever or the product has been moved from one place to another.
4. Warranty period includes time taken for Repair, replacements, transit time, breakdowns etc.
5. Parts of the product repaired or replaced under the terms of this warranty are further warranted only for the remaining period of the original warranty period.
6. Surface coating, plastic parts, washer, rubbers, springs, any external accessory to the product and normal wear and tear of parts shall not be covered under this warranty. All such parts shall be repaired/replaced on actual part cost along with applicable taxes.
7. Repair or replacement of spares will be carried out through the Hintastica’s Authorized Service Centres only.
8. It shall be the absolute discretion of Hintastica to affect the repairs or replacement of parts whether at the site of installation or at any authorized service centre.
9. In the event of repairs/replacement of specific parts on which warranty is more than the product comprehensive warranty, the specific parts will be repaired/replaced free of cost but the customer need to pay the service charges along with spare costs to the technician.
10. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, and spares not available, the company’s prevailing depreciation rules will be binding on the purchaser to accept as commercial solution in lieu of repairs, replacement or refund.

PARTS AND SERVICE WARRANTY

1. During warranty period, Hindware will provide free of charge repair/replacement of functional spare parts.
2. During comprehensive warranty period, no service/repair charge will be applicable.

WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

1. Rust formation on outer casting, corrosion of tank if the product is connected to hard water supply.
2. Corrosion of heating coil, inlet, outlet pipes and assembly plate if the system is connected to hard water supply.
3. Repair of the scale formation if the system is connected to hard water supply.
4. Cleaning of scale deposits inside the tank, if the system is connected to hard water supply.

THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID IN CASE OF THE FOLLOWING EVENTS

1. If the product is not installed or used as per the instructions given in the User Manual supplied with the product.
2. If any repair work is carried out by a person other than Hintastica’s Authorized Service Centers.
3. If any Spare Part is used other than recommended Original Company’s Spares.
4. If any damage is caused by accident, mishandling, tampering with installation, improper electric circuit outside the product or on account of incorrect power supply.
5. Defect in the product or any parts is due to the causes beyond control like lightning, acts of God, abnormal water supply/pressure or while in transit from dealer’s outlet to purchaser’s residence.
6. If the Serial No. of the product or any part thereof is deleted, defaced, damaged, altered, obliterated or tampered with or removal for any reason whatsoever.
7. If the Purchase Tax Invoice is not available & Warranty Card is not completely filled and signed on the purchase of the product.

CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY FOR ALTERNATIVE PRODUCT OFFERED IN REPLACEMENT
There may be instances where Hintastica no longer carries Spare Parts or Products that have been brought to us for necessary repair or replacement have been deemed as “Outdated” by Hinstastica, even though they may be covered under the applicable warranty terms. Under such circumstances Hintastica shall provide alternative products that offer similar functionality and of similar value to the product subject to the following conditions:

1. The company’s prevailing depreciation rules will be binding on the purchaser to accept as commercial solution in lieu of repairs, replacement or refund.
2. When Spare Part(s) is/ are no longer available, all the other components or parts that make the product complete must be submitted for replacement, even though these parts may or may not be in working condition.
3. The alternative product provided by the company would be more or less of similar functionality and no extra payment will be required from the customer.
