Introduction

Thank you for choosing an Atlantic Aura Vase or Fountain Bowl for your landscape project. Constructed of solid brass, Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls have a natural patina finish that will evolve over time but never peel or flake. Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls are designed to be used with specific reservoirs that simplify installation but may be adapted for use anywhere in the landscape, with a variety of water sources, in both standalone and cascading applications.

Prior to Operation and Installation

Caution:

  • DO NOT operate this product under any conditions other than those for which it is specified. Failure to observe these precautions can lead to product failure or other problems
  • Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls are designed for use in fresh water Fountain, Formal Spillway and Pond-free applications.

Note:
Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls with Spillways are designed to produce a vertical water sheer with very little projection. The spillway lip should protrude at least 4” over the catch basin.

Installation

Atlantic Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls may be used with a variety of different reservoirs, including Fountain Basins, Flexible Fountain Basins and the Eco- Rise System. Regardless of the choice of reservoir system, follow installation instructions to ensure that Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls will be installed on a level, stable surface, with provisions made for 1″ – 1½” inlet plumbing entering from below.

Select and Install Reservoir
Determine where and how your Vase(s) and/or Bowl(s) will be displayed. Follow the installation instructions included with the basins.

Provide Clearance for Plumbing
Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls are plumbed from below and will require at least 2½” of clearance for the supply line. Provisions will have to be made to accommodate the pipe and fittings while supporting the Vase, Bowl or Pedestal. Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls can be elevated on Eco-Blox and Fountain Basins using the Atlantic ECORISE12, providing the necessary clearance and making the plumbing easier to install. If the Eco-Rise is not used, Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls may be elevated using landscape blocks set side by side with a space between for the supply line. After installation soil, gravel or mulch may be used to conceal the blocks and supply line.

Plumbing Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls

Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls feature dual inlets in the base of the bowl, one at center, one off center. The center inlet is typically used for incoming water flow. Minimum 1” I.D tubing is required for optimal water flow. With the empty feature upside down, attach a 1½” male threaded fitting of your choice to the 1½” female threaded inlet using thread sealant or silicone on the threads. Thread the fitting into the inlet by hand until tight and finish off with a half turn from a wrench. Connect the supply line from the pump to the fitting on the bottom of the bowl. Set the Vase or Bowl right side up on the base of your choice, adjust the supply line as needed and check for level. Shim as needed to ensure Bowl or Vase is level in all directions.

Installation of CSEAL15 Cord Seal Fitting Aura Vase
If a light inside the Vase is desired, the Cord Seal Fitting (CSF) allows the light cord to pass out of the Aura Vase (or any other basin) through the unused 1½” female threaded inlet, underwater, without leakage. The CSF installs inside any 1½” Sch40 female socket, so the first step is to install the 1½” Sch40 PVC male thread adapter that is included with the CSF. The male thread adapter installs inside the bowl from the top of the Vase. Follow the instructions included with the Cord Seal Fitting to complete installation.

Fitting – Fountain Bowl
If a light inside the Bowl is desired, the Cord Seal Fitting (CSF) allows the light cord to pass out of the Bowl (or any other basin) through the unused 1½” female threaded inlet, underwater, without leakage. The CSF installs inside any 1½” Sch40 female socket, so the first step is to install the 1½” Sch40 PVC male thread adapter that is included with the CSF. The male thread adapter can be installed either inside the Bowl or underneath if ample clearance is provided. Follow the instructions included with the Cord Seal Fitting to complete installation.

Maintenance

Atlantic Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls have a natural patina finish that will evolve over time but never peel or flake. The patina needs no maintenance, however, periodic cleaning with a detergent and a soft cloth may be required.

Winterization
Aura Vases and Fountain Bowls must be drained and protected to prevent freeze damage in winter months. Turn off the pump and remove the standpipe so the bowl can drain. Remove the pump and store it indoors for the winter. Ensure that the supply line is fully drained and plug the opening so water will not refill the plumbing. Remaining water in the bowl should be removed and the Vase covered to prevent any rainwater or melting snow from re-filling the bowl. Winterize your Basin in accordance with best practices.

The warranty is void if this product is used under any condition other than those for which it is specified. This warranty excludes labor / costs of labor for removal or installation of any product.
