BODYBREW® COLD EXTRACTION COFFEE BLENDS

COLD EXTRACTION COFFEE BLENDS CUSTOMIZED FOR YOUR BOD® SYSTEM
The BOD® was designed to make cold extraction easy, and our cold extraction coee blends have been customized for your BOD® system. Each 8 oz. bag is pre- ground and pre-measured to the exact size needed to fill the BOD® stainless filter. NO grinding, and NO measuring of coee or water required, making brewing and re-brewing a cinch. Each bag produces 24 oz. of coee extract per brew cycle that makes 8-12 servings of iced or hot coee.

RIDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS COFFEE™
We taste tested dozens of coee varieties before developing our cold extraction coee blends. Made with 100% Arabica beans, and ground “Extra Coarse”, using a state of the art “roller grinder” that produces a uniform coee grind ideal for cold extraction which maximizes flavor and yield without sediment.

SAVE MONEY AND MAKE COLD BREW COFFEE AT HOME FOR JUST .36 CENTS PER SERVING
Why buy cold brew at the store or your local coee shop for $2 – $6 per serving when you can make better tasting cold brew at home that’s customized for your BOD® system for just .36 cents per serving? You can even RE-BREW our blends a second time with great flavor! The BOD® Cold Extraction Coee System was optimized for re-brewing coee grounds producing an extra 3-5 extra cups of great tasting coee, stretching your coee dollar.

*Serving size based on a ratio of 2 oz. of coee extract per 8 oz. serving. This yields 24 servings of coee per lb. Re-Brewing yields an extra 6 cups of coee per lb for a total of 30 servings.

BREW TIPS

Should I Brew In The Refrigerator Or At Room Temperature?
You’ll get a much better extraction and the best coee flavor by brewing at room temperature. There’s no need to brew in the refrigerator and will only slow down the extraction process and produce less flavorful coee.

Brew Cycle
Many people find it convenient to start a brew cycle the night before or the morning of their last serving, depending on desired brew cycle time. Once brewed, coee extract can be stored in the fridge for 2 weeks. After brewing, you can enjoy delicious coee that’s fast and convenient. If you like your coee stronger, brew it longer! If you prefer your coee really bold, brew for up to 72 hours. We recommend 18-24 hours for optimal flavor. What’s your brew number? See our website for more information, www.BodyBrew.com.

Second Brew Cycle, RE-BREW:
The BOD® Cold Brew Coee System was optimized for re-brewing coee grounds. In fact, many people who try re-brewing make it a habit. Whether it’s increasing your coee yield or saving you money, it all makes perfect sense. RE-BREW is stronger but not as concentrated as the first brew cycle if you like it very strong can either be consumed straight, or diluted. See RE-BREW for more information.

Coee Extract
The BOD® Cold Brew Coee System produces a convenient and delicious coee extract for making hot or iced
coee on demand. It’s so smooth and rich you may even love it black or find yourself using less cream and sugar.

Serving Size Information
For an average 8 oz. cup of coee, add 2-3 oz. of coee extract to 6 oz. of hot water. This is an average and can be made stronger or milder according to your personal preference.

Mid Brew Flip
Turning the BOD® upside down midway through the brew cycle agitates the coee grounds which we have found makes a richer and bolder coee. Just flip the BOD® over for a few seconds and then flip it back to the brew cycle position to experience coee with a taste profile that some people rave about.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Does Coee Made With The BOD® Taste?

Smooth, rich and never bitter. You won’t ever go back to overheated, burnt tasting, hot brewed coee.

What Kind Of Coee Drinks Can Be Made With The BOD®?

The BOD® makes a coee extract that can be used to customize and create virtually any kind of hot or iced coee drink according to your individual tastes. Cappuccinos, espresso style drinks, gourmet iced coee drinks, desserts, and more. Add the amount of coee extract to your personal taste, and your coee drink will be ready in seconds.

Why Not Just Use A French Press To Cold Brew Coee?

This is a question we asked ourselves. We hired a third party laboratory to get an answer to this very question. Lab tests showed that the levels of oily compounds called Diterpines (Cafestol in particular) remained virtually the same regardless of whether coee was hot brewed in a French press or cold brewed in a French press. Researchers believe it’s the pressing of the coee grounds that pushes out the oily compounds into the coee. The BOD® coee system has low levels of Diterpines (Cafestol and Kahweol), by using cold brew infusion, rather than pressing.

How Strong Is Coee Made With The BOD®?

As strong as you want it to be, you can even drink it straight. The BOD® makes a coee extract that gets stronger the longer you brew it. If you like stronger coee, brew it longer, 18 hours or more. After brewing, the coee extract can be adjusted to your individual taste by adding more/less water to dilute. If you prefer stronger coee, simply add more coee extract. If you like it milder, add less extract.

How Convenient Is The BOD® Coee Maker?

The brew process takes 12-24 hours. However, after it’s done brewing the coee extract is very easy to use and allows you to make virtually any coee drink in seconds. BodyBrew® also oers various companion accessories to easily take your coee extract with you wherever life takes you.

How Much Coee Does My BOD™ Use In Each Brew Cycle?

The BOD® was designed to use ½ pound (8 oz.) of ground coee per brew cycle. This is also approximately 3 ¼ cups measuring by volume. This will make 8-12 servings, depending on how much coee extract you use. The BOD® does use more coee than hot brewing, however most think the taste and health benefits are worth it. Unlike drip coee, there is no wasted coee. People usually drink all of their coee extract and with the BOD®, you can re-brew the coee grounds a second time and get an additional three 8 oz. servings per brew cycle.

How Many Cups Of Coee Will I Get Per Pound With The BOD®?

That depends. Assuming you use the recommended 2 oz. of coee extract per serving, you will get 24, eight ounce cups per pound of coee. If you RE-BREW, you’ll get an additional 6 cups per pound of coee. Under this example, your system will yield 30 cups of coee per pound of coee. If you pay $10.00 per pound for coee, this comes to just .33 cents per serving!

How Much Coee Extract and How Many Servings Of Coee Can Be Made?

The BOD® coee system will make approximately 24 oz of coee extract per brew cycle. That amount of coee will make about 8-12 cups, (8 oz. each) per brew cycle. However, the number of servings depends on how much coee you use for each serving. If you use more coee extract, you’ll have fewer servings. If you use less coee extract, you’ll get more servings.

What Is The BOD® Coee System Made Out Of?

We chose the highest quality materials to make the BOD®. We partnered with Eastman® to use their leading edge, proprietary plastic called Tritan™. Its dishwasher durable, stain resistant and BPA/BPS/PVC and phthlate free with not estrogen or androgen activity. The filter is made out of high quality stainless steel that’s made to last for years.

Does The BOD® Cold-Brewed Coee System Make Coee With Less Acid?

The BOD® produces a coee extract that is naturally low in total acids and tannic acid compared to drip coee.

Is Acid Bad For Me?

Some types of acid, like tannic acid in coee can stain teeth and accelerate acid wear and may also cause stomach upset.

What Kind Of Grind Should I Use In My BOD®?

We recommend a “coarse grind”. Finer ground coee is not recommended because the coee grind sediment can end up in your coee cup.

Are The Easy Pour Twist Caps Leak Proof?

No. The easy pour twist caps were designed for pouring, decanting, and upright storage only and are not leak proof.

How Long Will The Coee Extract Stay Fresh In The Refrigerator?

Up to 3 weeks but for optimal flavor and freshness 1-2 weeks is best.

What if there are dry grounds at the end of my brew cycle?

At the beginning of your brew cycle simply flip the BOD® over for a few seconds and then flip it back to the brew cycle position. This maximizes the saturation of the coee grounds, and also helps to prevent any dry grounds at the
end of your brew cycle.

Can I Use The BOD® To Cold Brew Tea?

Yes, just add 1/6 pound of loose tea, including herbal tea, into the stainless filter and fill brew chamber with cold water. Cold brew for 12 hours, flip the BOD® System over to drain and pour into the extract chamber for storage.
When you want to make a glass of tea, hot or cold, just add 2 oz. of tea concentrate to 7 oz. of water to taste.

Is It Better To Use Gourmet Or Specialty Coee In The BOD® System?

The BOD® makes any coee taste better. Even cheaper or lower quality coee can taste great. Feel free to use your favorite coee or experiment with dierent roasts. Artificially flavored coee can produce strange after tastes due to the chemical process or flavors used to create those type of coees, we recommend non-flavored coee. For more convenience, no grinding and no measuring, you can order our special BodyBrew cold brew blend, made specifically for cold brewing in the BOD®. Go to www.BodyBrew.com for more details.

Why Not Just Buy Cold Brew Coee Extract At The Store?

The main reason is cost, the other reason is freshness. It’s estimated that cold brewed coee at the store costs up to 75%* more than coee made with the BOD® cold brew system. Costs vary based on store and brand. Buying already bottled cold brew online can also be very costly due to shipping water weight.

Why Not Just Buy Low-Acid Coffee?

The low-acid coee blends currently on the market that we have tested, taste watery and bland. Many companies also add additives to reduce the acid and this can impact the taste. With the BOD®, you control what coee you brew with and we recommend keeping it au naturel!

How Should I Care For My BOD® Coee System?

We recommend hand washing with a soft cloth or sponge. Periodically, you should scrub the stainless steel filter to keep it free from debris to maximize its filtering ability. The BOD™ is dishwasher durable and can be washed on the top shelf. Just make sure to remove the timer before washing.

What Does BPA Free Mean?

BPA is a chemical called Bisphenol A which is found in numerous plastic consumer products. The chemical BPA has raised health concerns because it appears to mimic the eects of estrogen, interfering with hormone levels and cell signaling systems. Previous studies have shown that people exposed to high levels of BPA also have a greater risk of developing certain types of cancer. The BOD® is made from Tritan™ plastic by Eastman® which is free from the chemical BPA.

How Many Cups Per Pound Does The BOD® Yield Compared To Hot Brew?

Initially, the BOD® uses more coee than hot brewing but when you consider that there is no coee waste and you can brew the grounds twice, there could actually be a net gain in coee savings, depending on the hot brew method your comparing to and how much coee extract you use. For example, if you use a drip coee maker, coee waste is common and estimated to be approximately 30% due to coee becoming stale and bitter or simply making too much.

Traditional Drip Brewing
Yield: 34 Cups Per Pound
Estimated Waste: 10.2 Cups (30%)
Re-Brew: None
Net: 23.8 Cups

The BOD®Coee System
Yield: 24 Cups Per Pound
Waste: None
Re-Brew: 6 Cups
Net: 30 Cups

SAFETY WARNING

WARNING: IF YOU ROAST YOUR OWN BEANS, BE AWARE OF OFF-GASSING:
Gases can form from freshly roasted beans which can build up pressure during the brew process and may cause the product to leak or even burst under pressure. The unit with the Extract Chamber attached is air tight and the gases from the fresh roasted grounds have nowhere to go. To prevent this, do not seal the product o with the Extract Chamber when brewing. Instead attach the Brew Chamber Cap to the Brew Chamber and leave in the open position when brewing to prevent any buildup of gases. This only applies to freshly roasted beans.

When you are done brewing, you can remove the cap and re-attach the Extract Chamber and flip the unit over to decant your coee extract. This simple step will allow for brewing the freshest coee without concern for leaking or bursting.
