Setup

Before starting, unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and shut offcold water supply to unit by closing the feed valve. If your RO system is connected to an icemaker or other equipment, you must turn off the connection to the equipment before performing any maintenance.
Open the RO faucet to drain and decompress the system. Leave the faucet open and the cold water supply closed until the filter change is complete.

About Quick Connect Fittings

The Direct Flow Tankless RO System is equipped with Quick Connect fittings. Before connecting or disconnecting anyconnections, remove the locking clips. Replace the locking clips after the connections are complete.
To Disconnect: Push in the collet against the face of the fitting. With the collet held in this position the tube can be removed. The fitting can then be re-used.
To Connect: Push the tubing into the fitting to the pipe stop. The collet (gripper) has teeth which hold the tubing firmly in position while the ‘O’ Ring provides a permanent leak proof seal. Tug on the tubing to ensure it is secure

Filter Replacement Instructions:

  1. Using a phillips-head screwdriver, remove the three screws on the rear of the enclosure and remove the back and top sections of the enclosure. If the zip tie securing the filters together for shipping is still present, this can be removed and discarded before continuing. Take note of the flow arrow direction on each of the filters before removing them from the system
  2. Remove the sediment filter: On the fitting at the end of the filter body: remove the blue locking clip from beneath the With one hand, press the collet down toward the filter and hold it down while pulling out the elbow fitting. (Reference page 5). Repeat this process on the other end. Remove the filter from the mounting clips by holding the base of the clip in one hand and pulling with a sharp tug. Repeat for the second clip.
  3. Replace the sediment Filter: Snap the new filter into the clips, taking care to make sure flow arrow is pointing in the same direction. Remove the locking clip from beneath the collet. Press the elbow fitting in to the pipe stop. Tug on the fitting to ensure it is Replace the Locking Clip.
  4. Repeat these steps with both carbon filters to complete the filter change. (If you are not replacing the membrane or flow restrictor at this time, you may skip to step )
  5. Locate the feed end of the membrane housing (the end with only one connection). Remove the locking clip from the feed elbow fitting and disconnect the tubing. Remove the cap of the housing by twisting counterclockwise. Using pliers, pull out the old membrane from the
  6. Remove the new membrane from its bag. Insert the membrane in the housing in the same direction as the old membrane and push it firmly into the housing until it seats on the far end. Screw the housing cap back on, making sure the o-ring is positioned correctly. Reconnect the tubing and tug to make sure it is secure. Replace the locking
  7. Locate the flow restrictor mounted on the blue tube between the membrane and the drain line, taking note of the direction of the flow arrows. Remove the locking clips and press in on the collets to release the tubing. Replace with the new flow restrictor, ensuring the flow arrow is pointing toward the drain, tug to ensure a tight seal, and replace the locking
  8. Double-check all connections and prepare to restart the system. Leaving the faucet open, slowly open the feed valve and allow water to purge air from the system for several minutes. Plug in the power supply and allow the unit to flush for 5 minutes before closing the faucet. Check for leaks and reseat tubing where needed. Once proper operation is verified, reassemble the enclosure, fastening with the three screws in the

Recommended Replacement Schedule:

Our recommended replacement schedule is for relatively clean city feed water. For applications where the feed water is dirtier, the sediment filter may have to be changed more often. If your water has specific issues including excessive hardness, more frequent change-outs of all the filters may be required. Generally speaking, filters should be changed when there is a loss of performance.
