Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before using your PACTO folding bike, carefully read the service and user manual provided.

  2. Maintenance: – A compact folding bike has several hinge points that need to be properly adjusted and regularly cleaned and lubricated. – Keep the folding bike clean and regularly clean it with water. When using a high-pressure cleaner, keep the nozzle at
    least 30cm away from bearing parts. – Clean and lubricate the chain and other moving parts of the folding bike regularly. – Use a rust inhibitor to keep the steel parts rust-free. – Check the tire pressure regularly to prevent excessive tire wear and improve comfort while riding.

  3. Weight Limit: The maximum weight your PACTO folding bike can carry is 110kg, including the rider and luggage.

  4. Adjustments: – Do not set the seatpost higher than indicated, and tighten the seatpost quick release securely. – Do not set the handlebar stem higher than indicated, and tighten the handlebar stem quick release securely.

Folding Instructions

  • To fold the bike: – Step 1: Stand on the left side of the bike and fold the kickstand.
  • Step 2: Open the top quick release on the handlebar and rotate it so that the brake levers are parallel to the handlebar stem.
  • Step 3: Open the handlebar lock, fold down the handlebar, and ensure that it is positioned just below the front axle of the bike.
  • Step 4: Lower the seatpost and secure the seatpost clamp.
  • Step 5: Fold the pedals and position the left crank at 8 o’clock.
  • Step 6: Open the frame lock and fold the frame until the magnet clicks between the fork and frame.

To unfold the bike

Step 1: Unfold the frame and close the frame lock so that it is securely locked.

Maintenance and Repairs:
It is recommended to have adjustments, maintenance, and repairs performed by a trusted two-wheeler specialist or PACTO dealer. Regular maintenance should be done at least once a year, or as needed based on usage.

Warranty:
The warranty terms are provided in the user manual. Parts subject to wear, such as the chain, gears, brake pads, and tires, are not covered unless there is a construction or material defect. The warranty is non-transferable and can only be claimed by the original owner. Labor and transportation costs are not directly covered under the warranty and any warranty claims should be submitted to the supplier in advance. Note: Do not use a folding bike that is not properly unfolded or if the frame and handlebar stem locks are not securely locked.

Details

Have your new PACTO fully checked by an authorised bike specialist before you start riding.

  • A compact folding bike has several latches and hinges which need to be adjusted properly and need cleaning and lubrication regularly.
  • The maximum weight your PACTO may carry is 110kg. This is the total weight of the rider plus luggage.
  • Do not adjust your seat post any higher than the maximum adjustment mark and make sure the seatpost clamp has been tightened properly.
  • Do not adjust your stem any higher than the maximum adjustment mark and make sure the handlepost clamp has been tightened properly.
  • Check the air pressure of the tires regularly. This avoids premature wear of the tyre and you will notice it cycles a lot better.
  • Keep the chain and other moving parts of your folding bike clean and lubricate these parts regularly.
  • Keep your bike proper and clean it regularly with water. In case of using a high pressure cleaner make sure you keep a minimum distance of 30cm from parts with bearings to avoid water penetrating the hub or bottom bracket. Lubricate moving parts immediately after cleaning the bike and use an anti-rust spray for protection of the steel parts.

Folding instructions

Note: Never ride your folding bike when it is not completely unfolded and when the frame and handlepost latch have not been double locked!

How to fold:

  • Step 1. Take position at the left side of the bicycle and fold the kickstand upwards.
  • Step 2. Open the Quick Release on top of the stem and turn the handlebar until the brake levers are in parallel position with the stem.
  • Step 3. Open de handlepost latch, fold it and make sure the stem is adjusted so the location of the handlebar ends up just a little below the front hub of the bicycle.
  • Step 4. Lower the seatpost and close the seatpost clamp.
  • Step 5. Fold the pedals and make sure the left crank points ‘8 o’clock’.
  • Step 6. Open the frame latch and fold the frame until the magnet between frame and fork secure the bike.

How to unfold:

  • Step 1. Unfold the frame and close the frame latch lever so the double lock can be closed. Step 2. Unfold the pedals.
  • Step 3. Open the seatpost clamp and pull the seatpost up until the right position. Close the seatpost clamp.
  • Step 4. Put the stem in upwards position, close the handlepost latch lever so the double lock can be closed.
  • Step 5. Adjust the stem up to the preferred position.
  • Step 6. Open the Quick Release on top of the stem and turn the handlebar until the brake levers are in the right position.
    A quick overview to keep it in mind:
  • Fold – handlebar / saddle / pedals / frame
  • Unfold – frame / pedals / saddle / handlebar

Maintenance

It is highly recommended to bring your bike to an authorised dealer for adjustments, maintenance and reparations. Regularly maintenance is very important. The frequency depends of course on the use but a minimum of once a year is highly recommended.

Warranty terms

  • PACTO guarantees its bicycles being free from construction and/or material defects, and provides a 1-year warranty on all genuine parts. PACTO provides a 5-year warranty on frame.
  • No warranty is given on parts open to normal wear and tear such as chain, sprockets, brake shoes, tyres unless it concerns a construction and/or material defect.
  • This warranty is non-transferrable and gives only rights to the original purchaser of the bike.
  • This warranty guarantees only the replacing of a defect part and/or reparation of the broken part. If warranty is given it does not automatically provides rights to any consequential damages.
  • This warranty excludes defects caused by/or in cases of: commercial use, an accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, original parts which have not been replaced by original PACTO parts, changes which have been made on frame or fork, incorrect assembling and adjustment of parts and incorrect maintenance or any defects as a result of this.
  • This warranty covers the reparation of the defect part and/or a substitute from the same quality. Wage costs for dismantling and assembly of parts and/or transport costs of the bicycle are not automatically covered by this warranty. Therefor a warranty case always needs to be claimed from the supplier before any reparation or replacement of a defect part.
  • When offering a claim under these warranty conditions, the receipt of purchase as well as the bike or defect component must be handed over to the dealer. The claim must be made via the dealer where the bike was purchased and within a max time period of 2 weeks after the defect appeared. This to avoid extra damage.
  • Acceptance of a warranty claim by PACTO does not automatically mean that PACTO also accepts liability for any damages suffered. The liability of PACTO will never exceed what is described in these warranty terms. Any further liability of PACTO for consequential damage is explicitly excluded.
