SAFETY

This operating manual has been designed to facilitate the use of your BV Series Chillers with maximum efficiency over the years. In all of the manufacturing processes “environmentally-friendly” technologies are used as well as materials and refrigerants that are not harmful to nature. Please read this manual carefully before you start operating your BV Series Chiller in order to ensure maximum efficiency from this product that has been manufactured to serve you over the years.

Caution: Cabinet utilizes flammable refrigerant R290/R600a.

This gas may inflame under certain conditions. You must follow the rules below in order to obtain normal operating conditions.

  • WARNING: Keep the front of all fans inside or outside the refrigerator in a manner to prevent clogging.
  • WARNING: Clean all obstructions clogging all vent holes located in the device case or in the body of embedded devices.
  • WARNING: Do not use any mechanical device or other mechanisms apart from those recommended by the manufacturer for speeding up the defrosting process.
  • WARNING: Do not damage the cooling circuit.
  • WARNING: Do not use electrical apparatus in food storage part of the device.
  • WARNING: Device must be installed only by authorized persons in order to reduce inflammableness hazard.

Do not interfere the product outside authorized service due to maintenance, repair, or any other reason. Pull out the plug and leave the device to natural defrost against possible frosting and snowing. Prefer original components for all parts that require replacement on the product.

ASSEMBLING BV SERIES CHILLERS/ THE INITIAL START UP
As an initial step, please carefully read this manual thoroughly in order to ensure maximum efficiency from your BV Series Chiller and prevent user defects. Detect the BV Series Chillers immediately on delivery for any damage. In case of any damage, contact with your authorized dealer within 24 hours. Attention: It requires a lapse of minimum 2 hours after any transportation before you start operating your cabinet. If the BV Series Chiller has remained in an environment, the temperature of which was below 0 °C for a long period, allow for the compressor temperature to reach beyond +5 °C before re-operating the BV Series Chillers

Removing the Pallet
Your BV Series Chiller has been delivered on a wooden pallet, fixed to the body at four corners. Please carry out the following to detach the pallet before the body is set in its final operating location:

  • Cut the 4 cable ties fixing to pallet to the BV Series Chiller chassis by the means of a hand tool
  • Carefully detach the pallet from the body base.

Positioning the BV Series Chillers

  • Air circulation at the rear is required for the BV Series Chiller operate efficiently.
  • Move the BV Series Chiller backwards to place it properly.
  • Allow minimum 10 cm of space from the sides and the rear in order to ensure proper air circulation. Leave the top of the BV Series Chiller free.

Levelling the BV Series Chillers

  • When the BV Series Chiller is slightly lifted up on the forklift, loosen the adjustable legs so as to reach the desired level of height above the floor.
  • Gently place down the BV Series Chiller on the floor and check for levelling with a spirit level. If the BV Series Chiller tilts, readjust the adjustable legs.
  • Upon perfect levelling, set the BV Series Chiller in its final operating position.
  • Your BV Series Chiller is now ready to operate.

Mounting the Shelves
There are shelves and shelf supports shipped inside the BV Series Chiller. Carry out the following to mount the shelves.

  • Pilasters are numbered to provide height adjustment between the shelves in line with the product requirements. Place the shelf supports into corresponding notches on the pilasters. For an easy placement, use a pair of pincers to grip the support ends.
  • Lay down the shelves on the BV Series Chiller floor. (Make sure that the right-angled (90°) side is at the rear).
  • Hold the uppermost shelf; tilt one side and place on the hooks on the corresponding supports.
  • Do the same for the remaining shelves and mount them all.

OPERATING BV SERIES CHILLERS

Clean your BV Series Chiller before operating it. Avoid blocking air circulation inside the BV Series Chiller, when loading the BV Series Chiller with food products. Otherwise, undesired and extensive temperature variances may occur between the top and bottom compartments of the BV Series Chiller.

WARNING :
Your cabinet can have a LED illumination. If you face any problem with LED illumination, never try to repair it yourself. Inform an authorized service.

Defrosting
Your BV Series Chiller is devised with an automatic defrosting system regulated by the thermostat. Defrost water accumulates in the channel underneath the evaporator; it is then carried to the drip tray by the help of a hose where it evaporates. After defrosting, clean the body and make sure to wipe it out leaving no moist inside. Plug the body again and reload the BV Series Chiller after one hour.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING BV SERIES CHILLERS

To ensure higher efficiency, your BV Series Chiller must be regularly cleaned. Never use any cleaning agent that contains alcohol, scouring powder or powerful solvents. Always remove the plug from the main socket before cleaning the BV Series Chiller. Add two teaspoons of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) in 1 litre water and use this mixture to clean the BV Series Chiller. Clean the outer part with a wet cloth and then wipe it out. Attention: Never use any hot water, electrical heater, sharp tools or similar things as they may harm the BV Series Chiller. Cleaning/maintaining of your BV Series Chiller condenser must be done at least two times in a year by an authorized service.

Holidays /Stop Using For A While: Do not unplug your BV Series Chiller if you are going on a holiday or stop using it for a short time. If you are going on a holiday or stop using the body for a long time, unplug the BV Series Chiller and empty it. After defrosting, clean the BV Series Chiller and wipe it out with a cloth. Leave the door open to prevent odour in the BV Series Chiller.

Transporting your BV Series Chiller: Before relocating the body, unplug it from the mains socket, defrost it, wipe the interior walls and floor with a damp cloth, place the plastic blockings between the glass door and the body and carry it in the normal position as it is used.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • If the BV Series Chiller does not function;
    • Check if the BV Series Chiller is properly plugged in the mains socket
    • Check if there is an electric current to the mains socket
    • Check if there is power failure.
  • If the BV Series Chiller operates more frequently than desired;
    • Check if the door is opened very frequently or left open for a long time
    • Check if the thermostat is set to chill more than desired
    • Check if the compressor compartment is properly ventilated or compressor compartment needs cleaning.
  • If the BV Series Chiller is not cool enough;
    • Check if the door is opened very frequently or left open for a long time
    • Check if the internal air circulation is interrupted by overloading
    • Cleaning/maintaining of condenser might not done.
  • If there is odour in the BV Series Chiller;
    • Check if odorous foodstuff is stored in uncovered containers
    • Check if the inside is properly cleaned

After checking the above-mentioned points and carrying out the recommendations, if your BV Series Chiller still functions unsatisfactorily, contact the nearest authorized service centre, informing your complaints as well as the model and serial number of your BV Series Chiller.

PROPER DISPOSAL/DESTRUCTION OF THE REFRIGERATOR

  • It is encouraged that the cabinet be refurbished if practical.
  • Plan and risk assess the decommissioning process.
  • Isolate the case electrically.
  • Removal of the case is to be in the reverse order of installation listed previously.
  • Metal components are removed and recycled, remaining by commercial waste management.
  • While disposing of this refrigerator or others, remove the doors, door rubbers and door handles/latch in order to prevent small children and animals from staying locked inside.
  • Keep shelves in their place in order to prevent children from getting inside easily.
  • Attention: R600a/R290 is used as the cooling unit, contact with your local authorities for safe destruction of this product.
  • Attention: Expansion gas (C-Pentane) is used in the insulation system of the BV Series Chiller and will require the cabinet to be disposed of in accordance with local authority guidelines. This product contains insulation purging gas.
