Product Usage Instructions

Changing the Brightness Settings
- Use the power button on the right side of the headlamp to turn on the white LED.
- Press the power button once for Medium brightness, twice for High brightness, and three times for Low brightness.
- Use the power button on the left side of the headlamp to turn on the red LED’s.
Adjusting the Beam:
- The FL85 can be easily adjusted from an Ultra View Flood Beam to a BULLS-EYETM Spot Beam using TWIST FOCUSTM technology.
- To focus the beam on a precise area, rotate the bezel clockwise.
- To expand the beam and enlarge the lighted area, rotate the bezel counterclockwise.
Aiming the Beam:
- The FL85 is attached to the head strap on an adjustable hinge.
- Grasp the bezel and tilt the headlamp forward until the beam is aimed in the desired direction.
Powering the Headlamp:
- The FL85 can be powered by three COAST EXTREME PERFORMANCETM AAA Alkaline Batteries or a ZITHION-XTM Rechargeable Battery (not included).
- To change the batteries, lift the clasp on the top of the headlamp and open the battery compartment.
- Remove all three batteries from the battery compartment and discard them.
- Install three new AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct orientation before closing the battery compartment.
- Note: Alkaline batteries are single-use only. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Warranty: COAST’s Lifetime Warranty covers defects in workmanship for the life of the product as long as the original purchaser owns it.
Caution: The FL85 is only compatible with AAA alkaline batteries or a ZITHION-XTM Rechargeable Battery. Do not attempt to use aftermarket rechargeable batteries to power the FL85.

HEADLAMP CONSTRUCTION

The FL85 is composed of a premium-grade resin, selected by COAST engineers speciﬁcally for its strength, chemical resistance, and durability. The headlamp is afﬁxed to a reﬂective breathable mesh head strap with silicone lining used to afﬁx to hard hats and helmets without slipping.

QUICK-RELEASE BUCKLE

The COAST ULTRA-STRAP™ is built with an integrated Quick-Release Buckle making it easy to release the headlamp, with the press of a button.

CHANGING THE BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS

The FL85 features COAST’s patented PURE BEAM™ Optic, a three-setting lighting sequence, and a night-vision-saving red LED. Use the power button on the right side of the headlamp to turn on the white LED, as well as cycle through the Medium, High, and Low settings. Press the power button once for Medium, twice for High, and three times for Low. Use the power button on the left side of the headlamp to turn on the red LED’s.

ADJUSTING THE BEAM

The FL85 was designed with TWIST FOCUS™ technology and can be easily adjusted from an Ultra View Flood Beam to a BULLS-EYE™ Spot Beam. To focus the beam on a precise area, rotate the bezel clockwise. To expand the beam and enlarge the lighted area, rotate the bezel counterclockwise.

AIMING THE BEAM

The FL85 is attached to the head strap on an adjustable hinge. To change the angle of the beam, grasp the bezel and tilt the headlamp forward until the beam is aimed in the desired direction.

POWERING THE HEADLAMP

Designed on COAST’s Alkaline-Dual Power™ platform, the FL85 can be powered by three COAST EXTREME PERFORMANCE™ AAA Alkaline Batteries or a ZITHION-X™ Rechargeable Battery (not included). To change the batteries, lift the clasp on the top of the headlamp and open the battery compartment. Remove all three batteries from the battery compartment and discard them. Install three new AAA alkaline batteries. Be sure the batteries are oriented correctly before closing the battery compartment. Alkaline batteries are single-use only. Do not mix old and new batteries.

COAST’s Lifetime Warranty stands ﬁrm behind your product, providing you the assurance that COAST knives, tools, ﬂashlights and headlamps, are warrantied against defects in workmanship for the life of the product as long as the original purchaser owns the product for a maximum of 100 years. Any problem at all? Just let us know—we’ll repair or replace your product. Proof of purchase is required to claim this warranty. Please understand this warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, nor damage resulting from misuse or neglect. The warranty also does not cover batteries and charging accessories (or damage caused by either). Batteries or damage caused by batteries (i.e. leakage) are also not included in the Warranty. Warranty ex-changes do not cover the cost of shipping and handling.
