Introduction
Effective and ideal tool for locating camera inspection systems. sondes and
any utilities that emit 512hz frequency.
The ANYSUN CR512R is an effective locator that helps inspect sewers and
drainage. Although the ANYSUN CR512R pairs perfectly with other ANYSUN
inspection system. it will still work with other manufacturer’s camera or
sonde system that emits 512hz frequency. Before using on your first job, make
sure you understand how the system works.
The CR512R is designed to be intuitive and require minimum of training for
effective use of the instrument. The controls and the information display area
are large and easy to understand. Yet they include everything necessary to
control the locator.
The following sections will take you through all the steps necessary to use
your equipment We strongly recommend that you pay close attention to the
section ‘Getting to know your tools’, and come back to it whenever you are
confused about the responses you are seeing on actual locating jobs.
Please note: These instructions should be considered guidehnes. Every locating
job presents unique challenges, and although most will yield to “textbook*
procedures as described here, many will require a creative approach. We
strongly advise that you farrikarize yourself with the fundamentals of analog
locating described in the getting to know your tools’ section. Armed with this
knowledge will grant you the ability to solve any issues when searching for
pipes.

GENERAL LAYOUT
- ON/OFF, Signal Sensitivity Knob — Turn knob to turn ON/OFF. When starting off set sensitivity to max and slowly turn knob counter-clockwise to reduce sensitivity to have a more accurate reading.
- Near/Far Switch — Controls overall sensitivity. The “Far” position is recommended when starting to locate the sonde. As you approach the transmitter and the meter goes to the right at “6” and you can’t reduce the sensitivity any further, switch to “Near” to pinpoint its precise location.
- Peak Signal Indicator — Indicates the strength of the peak signal (to the right) and the null signal (to the left), make sure you can know the signal is strang or weak.
- Speaker — The receiver will emit a continuous beep when it receives a signal, and an intermittent beep when it does not receive a signal, depending on the transmitter use case.
- Signal Indicator — Green light will light up when a signal (512Hz) is received from the transmitter. You can find the transmission with accuracy and without worry of false spike or voids that can complicate the location process. (Only when the 512Hz signal from the transmitter is received will the light come on, which can effectively exclude interference signals).
- Battery Indicator — Shows the status of the battery level.
Getting to Know your Tools
- Your CRS12R locator supports the detection of any standard 512 Hz sonde or camera in the market.
- This type of sonde or camera is usually attached to devices that are sant through non-matallic sawer-lines or water pipes. The emittad magnetic field easily passes through the walls of such pipes.
- When the signals being tracked by the locator is produced by the sonde or camera, there are some differenc- es in the way the receiver is used when compared with normal cable or pipe tracing.
- Due to the nature and strength of the sonde signal, it is necassary to have some idea of where the sonde is located. This is usually not much of a problem, since the sonde is “guided” by a davice under contro! of the work crew, often with a camera attached to it.
How to Operate the 512hz Locator
The monitor in the sewer camera shows what is wrong with your sewer tunnels
clearly when we push the sewer camera head into the pipeline. But we still
can’t pinpoint the problematic location.
With this 512hz locator, this problem is solved.
-
Step 1; Power ON the locator and mark if any other transmission is being transmitted and mark to avoid any misleading signals.
-
Step 2: Tum on the sewer camera system with camera probe on and transmitting §12 frequency.
-
Step 3: Keep the locator parallel to the ground and locator at hip waist length, then set locator to FAR MODE (Detect Distance: 23 feet) as well as set the signal Sensitivity Knob all the way to the right.
-
Step 4: Walk around and pay attention to the Peak Signal Indicator to ensure it’s to the right at “6” and when the transmission is picked up the Green LED light will light up “Signal indictor’.
-
Step 5: Walk around and adjust the sensitivity knob counter-clockwise to reduce the sensitivity and continue to observe that the indictor light is green to ensure you are within line of the sonde and that peak signal is at “6”.
-
Step 6: Change from FAR MODE to NEAR MODE (Detecting Distance: 13 feet) when the sensitivity knob cannot be turned counter-clockwise anymore and the peak signal is still within range. And set the signal Sensitivity Knob all the way to the right.
-
Step 7: Walk around and adjust the sensitivity knob counter-clockwise to reduce the sensitivity and continue to observe that the indictor light is green to ensure you are within line of the sonde and that peak signal is at “6”.
-
Step 8: The sensitivity knob is around the left and the green LED light is still lit and the peak signal indicator is all the way to the right at “6”, Congratulations, you are right around the sonde and located the transmission.
Q&A
Q: The locator doesn’t work
A: Please check the battery and ensure battery is above 75%. check the
inspection system to ensure it’s powered on and providing power to the camera
probe with the sonde.
