Electrical safety:

Symbols in the manualCaution: to avoid accidents and injuries from electric shocks:

  • If there are people in the water, the device must not be operated. Risk of electric shock!
  • After installation, the mains plug must be freely accessible when the equipment is in operation.
  • Before operating your new pump, have a specialist check:
    • The earthing, the protective multiple earthing; the residual current circuit breaking must be compliant with the safety regulations of the energy supply company and function without fault,
    • The protection of the electri-cal plug connections from the wet.
  • If there is a risk of flooding, fi x the plug connections in an area that is safe from flooding. Risk of electric shock.
  • Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifi cations on the rating plate.
  • The electrical installation shall be according to national wiring rules.
  • Connect the appliance only toa power socket with a residual current circuit breaker of rated residual current no more than 30 mA; fuse min. 6 ampere.
  • Check the device, power connection cable and plug for damage before each use. Defective mains connection cables must not be repaired. They must be replaced wit new ones. Ensure that damage to your device is repaired by an authorised specialist.
  • Do not use the mains connection cable to pull the plug out of the socket. Protect the mains connection cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
  • Use only extension cables that are splash-proof and designed for outdoor use. Always roll out the cable drum completely before use. Check the extension cable for damage.
  • Remove the plug from the mains socket before carrying out work on the device, if there is a leak in the water system, during work breaks and when not in use.
  • Mains connection cables must not have a cross-section that is smaller than those of rubber hoses with the designation H07RN8-F. The cable length must total 10 m. The wire cross section of the extension cable must be at least 2.5 mm2 .

Operational start-up

Assembly

Fitting the lower aluminium pipe

  1. Insert the large sealing ring (15) into the adapter (11) of the pressure connection.
  2. Screw the adapter (11) to the pressure connection (21) of the pump.
  3. Clip the pipe holder (12) with the middle holder to the aluminium pipe. The mounting rail of the pipe holder (12) must point downwards.
  4. Insert one of the two medium-sized sealing rings (14) into the screw sleeve (20).
  5. Place an aluminium pipe (19) onto the adapter (11) and screw it with the screw sleeve (20).
  6. Push the pipe holder (12) onto the aluminium pipe downwards until it engages in the recess on the device.

Fitting the upper aluminium pipe

  1. Connect the lower and upper  aluminum pipe (19) using the connector (10). Place one of the small sealing rings (13) between the connector (10) and each of the two screw sleeves (18)

Fitting the plastic hook

  1. Loosen the wing nut (8) on the plastic hook (7).
  2. Remove the screw (9) from the plastic handle.
  3. Clip the plastic hook (7) onto the upper aluminium pipe (19).
  4. Fix the plastic hook (7) with the screw (9) and wing nut (8).

Fitting the fl exible pipe

  1. Insert the medium-sized sealing ring (14) into the screw sleeve (20).
  2. Push the fl exible pipe (17) onto the upper aluminium pipe (19) and screw it with the screw sleeve (20)

Immersing the pump

Be careful not to hold or hang the unit by the mains connection cable. There is a risk of electric shock due to damaged mains connection cables.

When immersing the pump, make sure that the shut-off valve(16) is open to ensure that the pump is vented.

  • Use the plastic hook (7) or attach a rope to the pump‘s carrying handle (2) to immerse or raise the pump. Never hang the unit directly from the bent pipe or water hose
  • You can adjust the height of the plastic hook after loosening the wing nut (8). This way you can hang the pump in a rain barrel without it touching the ground and sucking in possible sediment.
  • When the water level is low, you can also place the pump in the rain barrel. The shut-off valve must protrude overthe edge of the container.
Beware of dirt and sand accumulating at the bottom of the barrel over time, which could damage the pump. We recommend placing the pump on a brick.

Mains connection

The pump you have purchased is already equipped with a safety plug. The pump is intended for connection to an earthed socket with residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) with 230 V ~ 50 Hz.

Operation

The minimum water level on initial start-up must be 60 mm

Adjusting the fl oat switch
Automatic operation

The on or off switching point of the fl oat switch (1) can be adjusted continuously.

  1. Disconnect the cable (5) of the fl oat switch (1) from the fastening, if necessary (6).
  2. Press the cable (5) in the desired position into the fastening (6).

Check the fl oat switch (1). It must be positioned so that it can rise and fall freely. The switching point height „On“ and the switching point height „Off“ must be easily reached.

**** There is a risk of dry running if the cable (5) of the fl oat switch is chosen too long, especially if the cable (5) is not hooked into the fastening (6) .

Manual operation

The pump runs continuously in manual operation. Position the fl oat switch (1), as shown, directly vertically in the fastening (6).

Switching on and off

  1.  Open the shut-off valve (16). → Turn in + direction Use the shut-off valve to regulate the amount of water that fl ows into the connected water hose.
  2.  Fully immerse the pump.
  3. Insert the mains plug in the socket. The pump starts immediately.
  4. To switch off, pull the plug out of the socket. The pump switches off.

If the water level is too low, the fl oat switch will automatically switch off the pump.

Supervise the appliance while it is in operation in order to be immediately aware if the automatic cut-out operates or the pump runs dry, to limit any damage to a minimum.

Maintenance/ Cleaning/ Storage

Clean and maintain your equipment regularly. This will guarantee its performance and long durability

Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts. There is a risk of injury!

Pull out the power plug before every maintenance operation. There is a risk of electrocution or of injury from moving parts.

General cleaning instructions

  • Clean the pump with clean water after each use.
  • Remove any fl uff and fi brous particles that may have become trapped on and under the pump housing (3) with a water jet.
  • Clean the fl oat switch (1) and the suction foot (4) of deposits with clear water.
Cleaning the fi lter

The pump has a removable fi lter in the suction foot that protects it from contamination. Depending on the degree of contamination of the water, it should be checked occasionally and cleaned if necessary:

  1. Unplug the mains plug.
  2. Turn the fi lter cover (22) a ¼ turn clockwise.
  3.  Remove the fi lter cover (22).
  4. Clean the fi lter (23) under running water.
  5. Install the fi lter (23) and fi lter cover (22) in reverse order.

The pump must not be operated with the fi lter (23).

Flushing the pump

After pumping heavily polluted water, the pump must be fl ushed to prevent deposits in the pump.

  • Pump lukewarm water (max. 35 °C) until the pumped water is clear.

Storage

  • Clean the pump before storage.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, frost-free place, and where children cannot gain access to it.
  • When the pump is not to be used for a longer period, it must be thoroughly cleaned after its last use, and before it is next used. Otherwise there may be problems in starting the pump, caused by deposits and residues.
Space-saving storage
  1.  Dismantle the fl exible pipe (17) and the upper aluminium pipe (19).
  2. Clip the fl exible pipe (17) and the upper aluminium pipe (19) right and leftinto the pipe holder (12).

Keep the sealing rings (13/14) in a safe place.

All other measures, particularly opening the pump must be carried out by a qualifi ed electrician. Always contact the Service Centre if repairs are needed.

Waste Disposal and Environmental Protection

Be environmentally friendly. Return the tool, accessories and packaging to a recycling centre when you have fi nished with them.

Electric appliances should not be disposed of in the domestic garbage.

  • Hand the tool in at a recycling centre. The plastics and metal parts can be separated and recycled. Ask your Service Center about this.
  • Defective units returned to us will be disposed of for free.
