INSTALLING THE REFRIGERATOR

Correct installation of the refrigerator is essential for its reliable and efficient operation. Always lift the refrigerator grabbing it by the bottom. Never drag the refrigerator by its door or door handle. The manufacturer’s guarantee will not apply to door damage caused by its re-hinging. Any repairs caused by such circumstances will be performed at the cost of the owner.CENTEK CT 1748 Freezer Refrigerator -
REFRIGERATOR 4.1. VENTILATION
The compressor and condenser of the refrigerator heat up during operation, therefore sufficient ventilation should be provided for cooling.

  • The refrigerator should be installed in a well-ventilated room with normal humidity. Never install the refrigerator in rooms with high humidity, e.g. in bathrooms or basements.
  • Ensure that gaps of at least 3 to 5 cm on the sides and 10 cm above the top are provided during installation for free air circulation. Do not obstruct air movement at the back side of the appliance.
  • Do not place the appliance near heat sources.
  • Do not install the refrigerator so that it is exposed to direct sunlight or near heat sources (kitchen ovens, cookers, fireplaces, etc.).

4.2. LEVELING
It is important that the refrigerator is installed on a level surface for efficient operation. After placing the refrigerator at its permanent location adjust its position by turning the adjustable front feet. The refrigerator should not be slanted backwards by more than 5°.
4.3. CONNECTING TO POWER SUPPLY
The refrigerator complies with Class 1 requirements for protection against electric shock and is connected to the power supply grid by a two-pole plug with an earthing contact. Before connecting to power supply ensure that:

  • the grid voltage corresponds to that indicated on the data plate located on the back side of the refrigerator;
  • the earthing contact of the electric socket is connected to an earthing conductor of the mains cable (the earthing conductor should have a minimum rating of 10 A);
  • the power socket and plug should be of the same type; if the plug does not fit the socket the latter should be replaced with one compatible with the plug (this work should be performed by a skilled electrician).

The refrigerator should be placed so that you would always have access to the power socket. A refrigerator improperly connected to power supply, i.e.
incompliant with the requirements for powerful home appliances set forth in this manual, is potentially dangerous. The manufacturer shall not be made liable for damage to human health and property if such damage is caused by nonobservance of the installation requirements specified herein.

OPERATING THE REFRIGERATOR

5.1. BEFORE TURNING ON
After installing the refrigerator please wait for approx. three hours before connecting it to power supply. This way you will allow the refrigerant to be properly distributed: this is necessary for proper operation of the refrigerator.
You will be able to place food in the refrigerator within a few hours after connecting it to power supply. Remove the transportation inserts between the compressor and the back wall of the niche, as well as all other inserts and adhesive tape preventing the movable parts of the appliance from displacement during transportation.
If the appliance is covered in a protective polymer film, carefully remove it, taking precautions not to damage the paint or polymer coatings in the components.
5.2. STARTING OPERATION

  • When the refrigerator is connected to power supply the display backlight will light for two seconds.
  • The compressor will start up.
  • The SMART function will be activated and the corresponding indicator will light for a few seconds.
  • When the display backlight goes out open the door or press any button; the backlight will come on again.
  • Open the refrigerator door in 30 minutes. The temperature inside the cooling chamber should have dropped. This means that the refrigeration system is operating properly.
  • Indicator is the pilot light of the frequency converter. If the power is on it will light when the compressor is operating.
  • Any operations with buttons are only accessible when the buttons are unlocked and backlit on the display.
  • You can select the operating mode of the refrigerator on the control panel located on the refrigerator door.

ATTENTION!
A temperature of +2 °С is comparatively low, while +8 °С is relatively high for a cooling chamber. Usually the temperature is set to +4 °С.

  • Do not fill any other liquids, any beverages, e.g. juice, Cola, beer, etc. into the water dispenser tank.
  • Do not fill hot water into the tank (the tank can only withstand temperatures up to 50 ⁰С).

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

When cleaning or maintaining the refrigerator, first turn off the power by removing the plug from the socket. Empty the chambers of food. Use neutral detergents. Never use abrasive detergents, alkaline products, organic acids and hot water as this may damage the paintwork. Do not use sharp or metal objects as this may damage the refrigerator.
The door seal gets dirty easily and needs to be washed more often.
If you do not use the refrigerator for a long time, remove the plug from the socket, defrost, wash and dry the refrigerator.

TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE

In case of improper operation or a malfunction, please study the following section before contacting an authorized service center. In some cases you may be able to solve the problem yourselves.

Problem Probable Causes
The appliance is not working •Ensure that the power cable is properly

connected to the electric socket.
•The ambient temperature is too low. Try to set a lower (colder) temperature.
•It is normal for the freezing chamber not to work during automatic defrosting or for a short time after refrigerator startup to protect the compressor.
Unpleasant smell in the refrigerator| Cleaning is probably required. Smells may come from foods, containers, packaging, etc.
Noise in the refrigerator| The following noises are normal:
•noise of the operating compressor:
•air circulation noise caused by the small fan in the freezing chamber or by other refrigerator components;
•bubbling noise similar to that of boiling water.
•crackling noises during automatic defrosting;
•clicking noise before compressor startup.
Motor operates continuously| The noise of the operating motor is normal in the following cases:
•the temperature is set too low
•a large quantity of warm food has recently been placed in the refrigerator,
•ambient temperature too high;
•the door has been open for a long time or opened too often;
•first startup of the refrigerator or restart after a long break
Layer of frost inside the refrigerator| Ensure that the food does not impede air circulation. Check that the door is tightly closed.
Temperature in the refrigerator too high| The door has probably been left often, or something is preventing the door from closing, the refrigerator is installed too close to adjacent walls, electric appliances, etc.
Temperature in the refrigerator too low| Set a higher temperature on the control panel.
The door is hard to close| Check the installation gradient of the refrigerator. The front edge of the refrigerator should be higher than the back edge by max.10 to 15mm to provide sufficient gravity for door closing.
Internal illumination not working| •LEO lamp damaged. Replace the bulb.
•The light has been turned off by the control system since the door has been open for a long time. Close the door and open it again to re-activate the function.
