Using the Procaster

  • The Procaster is a broadcast-grade end-address microphone, and for optimum results, you should address the microphone at a distance of no more than 5cm (2”).

  • The Procaster comes complete with a microphone stand mount (RM2) which should be used to attach the microphone to a good-quality stand.
The stand mount includes a thread adaptor allowing connection to either 3/8” or 5/8” stand threads.
Alternatively, the PSM1 shock mount and PSA1 studio boom arm are optionally available to isolate the microphone from external vibrations.

  • Always use a high-quality microphone cable and ensure that it is wired to Pin 1 shield, Pin 2 (+), and Pin 3 (-).

  • After use the Procaster should be wiped with a dry, soft cloth and placed in its protective zip pouch.

  • An absorbent crystal pack is supplied with the Procaster.
This should stay in the zip pouch at the head of the microphone when not in use to prevent any build-up of moisture. When the crystals turn pink, they can be dried out in an oven at 100 – 150 degrees Celsius for approximately ten minutes. Once they turn blue they can be reused.
