Installing Batteries
To install or replace batteries:

  1. Remove the belt clip by pulling the tab and sliding it up.
  2. Pull the battery door lock tab up to release the battery cover. Insert 3 “AA” batteries.
  3. Put the battery cover back into place. Snap the lock tab and belt clip back into place.
  4. Do not mix old and new batteries
  5. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.

For charging radios (Adpater/Batteries:Just for batteries and adpater packaging option)

  1. To charge a single radio, simply insert the connector directly into the charge jack located on the bottom of the radio.
    The radio will display flashing battery icon while charging.
    Recommends your radio be turned off while being charged.

The batteries should only be recharged under adult supervision.

  • Batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity.
  • Used batteries must be removed from the toy.
  • Do not short-circuit the terminals of a battery.
  • Remove the batteries if you are not using the toy for a long period.
  • Recycle the batteries appropriately.
  • Do not burn them or dispose of them with household waste. This toy is not designed for children aged under 3.
  • The toy should only be used with the recommended transformer.
  • The transformer is not a toy.
  • The battery charger used with the toy should be examined regularly to detect any deterioration in the cable, the mains plug, the casing and any other parts.
  • If any deterioration is found, it should not be used until it has been repaired.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.

Quick Start

  1. Insert the battery: Take off t he belt clip, use your finger to open the battery cover and insert the batteries, then close the lid.
  2. Turn on the device: Hold down the power button for 3 seconds to turn the devices on/off, a BEEP sound will be played t o confirm.
  3. Set main channel and privacy code: Press the MENU button once, the main channel flashes, then press the up or down button to set a number, then quickly press the MENU button once again, the CTCSS code flashes, then press the up or down button to set a number, then press the PTT button to confirm your setting. for example (07, CTCSS 11) can only work with (07, CTCSS 11) , but not (07, DCS 11).
  4. Push to talk(PTT): Press and hold the PTT button until you finish speaking into the microphone, then release the PTT button and wait for your partner to reply.

Both radios must be tuned to the same channel/privacy code to communicate.

Turning on Your Radio

Press and hold the Menu/Power button until you hear a series of audible tones indicating the radio is on. Your radio is now in Standby mode,ready to receive transmissions. The radio is always in Standby mode except when the Talk, Call or Menu/Power buttons are pressed.

Battery Low

When battery power is low, the final bar in the Battery Low icon will blink and an audible tone will sound twice before the radio shuts off. Your batteries should be replaced or recharged, if using rechargeable batteries.
The radio will display flashing battery icon while charging.

Auto Battery Save

If there are no transmissions within 6 seconds, the radio will automatically switch to Battery Save mode and the Power Saver icon will flash in the display. This will not affect the radio’s ability to receive incoming transmissions.

Communicating with Another Person

  1. Press and hold the PTT button.
  2. With the microphone about two inches (2.5-5 cm) from your mouth, speak in a normal voice.
  3. Release the PTT button when you are finished talking and listen for a response.
    You cannot receive incoming calls while pressing the PTT button.
    Both radios must be tuned to the same channel/privacy code to communicate.

SOS Flashlight

****To activate SOS function, press and hold for six seconds the SOS button to turn on. it will send out an SOS signal,The LED light will be activated. Press and hold the MENU button to turn off the SOS function.

To Select a Channel

**** With the radio on, select any of the 22 channels by pressing Menu and the Up or Down button.
Both radios must be tuned to the same channel/privacy code to communicate.


Listening for a Response
Press the Up or Down button at the standby mode.A double beep sound is used to indicate the minimum and maximum volume levels (1 through 08).

Call Button

The other person will hear a two second call tone. This tone is used only to establish voice communications. See page 10 on how to select between ten call tone settings.

Lock Function

  • Press and hold the Call/Lock button for two seconds.

A double beep sound is used to confirm your lock on or off request. When in Lock mode,the Lock icon will be displayed.And the process to turn it off is the same as turning it on, just press and hold “LOCK” button, that’s it.

Flashlight

****The radio is equipped with flashlight function, which will bring a lot of convenience in the dark.
Press and hold “LAMP” button to turn the flashlight on.
And the process to turn it off is the same as turning it on, just press and hold “LAMP” button, that’s it.

Scrolling Through the Menu Function
By scrolling through the MENU function, you will be able to select or turn on preferred features of your radio. When scrolling through the Menu function, your radio features will be displayed in the same predetermined order:

Privac y Codes
Your radio i ncorporates two advanced coded squelch systems
that can help to reduce interference from other users on any given channel. CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) provides 38 privacy codes and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch)provides 99 privacy codes. This provides a total of 137 Privacy Codes. Either system can be used on all channels, but both systems cannot be used on the same channel at the same time.

To successfully communicate using a privacy code, both the sending and receiving radios must be tuned to the same channel and to the same privacy code system (CTCSS or DCS) and privacy code number. Each channel will remember the last privacy code system and number you select.
The privacy code 0F is not a privacy code, but allows all signals to be heard on a channel that is set to 0F on both the CTCSS and DCS systems.

Set CTCSS Privacy Codes

To select a CTCSS privacy code:

  1. After selecting a channel, press the Menu/Power button until the CTCSS icon appears and the small numbers next to the channel number flash on the display
    If DCS is turned on at the channel selected,the display will flash the CTCSS icon and “OFF.”To switch from DCS to CTCSS, press the Up or Down button while the display is flashing “OFF.” The display will then show the small numbers flashing and you will then be able to proceed to step 2.

  2. Press using the Up or Down button to select a privacy code. You can hold the Up or Down button for fast advance.

  3. When your desired CTCSS privacy code is displayed, press the Menu/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions, or press PTT button to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Set DCS Privacy Codes

To select a DCS privacy code:

  1. After selecting a channel, press the Menu/Power button until the DCS icon appears and the small numbers flash on the display (01 through 99).
    If CTCSS is turned on at the channel selected, the display will flash the DCS icon and “OFF.” To switch from CTCSS to DCS, press the Channel Up or Channel Down button while the display is flashing “OFF.” The display will then show the small numbers flashing and you will then be able to proceed to step 2.

  2. Press using the Up or Down button to select a DCS privacy code. You can hold the Up or Down button for fast advance.

  3. When DCS privacy code is displayed, press the Mode/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions, or press PTT button to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Voice Activated Transmit (VOX)
In VOX mode, your radio can be used “hands-free,” automatically transmitting when you speak. You can set the VOX sensitivity level to fit the volume of your voice and avoid transmissions triggered by background noise.

To set VOX sensitivity:

  1. Press the Menu/Power button until the VOX icon flashes and the current sensitivity level is displayed. The current VOX sensitivity level is displayed with letters “LE” and a Number 01 through 03, with Number 03 being the most sensitive level and Number 01 being the least sensitive level.
  2. Press the Up or Down button to change the setting.
  3. Press the Menu/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions, or press PTT button to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode. Do not press any buttons for 15 seconds to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

The current VOX sensitivity level is displayed with letters “LE” and a Number 01 through 03, with Number 03 being the most sensitive level and Number 01 being the least sensitive level.

To turn VOX mode off:

  1. Press the Menu/Power button until the VOX icon flashes on the display. The current OF setting is displayed.
  2. Press the Up or Down button to turn VOX Off.
  3. Press the Mode/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions, or press PTT button to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.
    Do not press any buttons for 15 seconds to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Ten Call Tone Settings

You can choose between ten different Call Tone Settings to transmit a call alert.

To change a call tone setting:

  1. Press the Menu/Power button until the letter “C” and the current call tone number (01 through 10) is displayed. The current call tone will sound for three seconds.
  2. Press the Up or Down button to hear the other call tone settings.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Press the Menu/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions.
    • Press PTT button to return to Standby mode.
    • Do not press any buttons for 15 seconds to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Roger Beep Confirmation Tone
Your listener will hear an audible tone when you release the PTT button.This alerts the other party that you are finished talking and it is OK for them to speak.

To turn roger beep on or off:

  1. Press the Menu/Power button until the Roger Beep icon flashes. The current on or off setting is displayed.
  2. Press the Up or Down button to select roger beep on or off.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Press the Menu/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions.
    • Press PTT button to return to Standby mode.
    • Do not press any buttons for 15 seconds to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Key Tone On/Off

When Key Tone is On,the Key Tone icon will be displayed, an audible tone will sound each time a button is pressed. To turn key tone on or off:

  1. Press the Menu/Power button until the Roger Beep icon is displayed. The current on or off setting flashes.
  2. Press the Up or Down button to select key tone on or off.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Press the Menu/Power button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions.
    • Press PTT button return to Standby mode.
    • Do not press any buttons for 15 seconds to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode.

Dual Channel Monitor function.

Dual Channel Monitor function
In stand-by, the Radio is set on one channel with CTCSS/DCS code. The Radio will only receive signals transmitted on that channel with the CTCSS/DCS code.

Dual Channel Monitor (DCM) allows you to monitor a second channel.

  1. Press the Menu/Power button Eight times until DCM and CH displays, the current channel flashes.
  2. Press the UP or DOWN button to set the monitor channel.
  3. Press the PTT button to save the double channel monitor setting.
  4. Then the double channel will flash.
  5. Press the Menu button Eight times, the current channel flashes.Press the UP or DOWN button until the channel “OF” displays,to set the monitor channel to turn off .

Channel Scan
Your radio can automatically scan channels. To scan channels:

  1. Press and release the Scan button until the Scan icon and the channel numbers appear on the display.
  2. Press and hold the Scan button to begin scanning channels.

The radio ignores specific privacy codes while scanning channels.

The Scan icon will continue to be displayed when scan is on. Your radio will continue to scan all channels and stop if an incoming transmission is detected. Your radio will remain on that channel for 10 seconds.

During scanning (while receiving an incoming transmission), you can choose from the following:

  • Press and hold the PTT button to communicate on that channel. Your radio will remain on that channel and return to Standby mode.
  • Press the Up or Down button to resume scanning channels.
  • Press and hold the Scan button to return to Standby.

Privacy Code Scan
Your radio can automatically scan the Privacy Codes (either CTCSS 01 through 38 or DCS 01 through 99) within one channel. Only one set of privacy codes (CTCSS or DCS) can be scanned at a time.

To scan privacy codes:

  1. While in Standby mode, press and release the Scan button twice (CTCSS) or three times (DCS) until the CTCSS or DCS icon and numbers are flashing.
  2. Press and hold the Scan button to begin scanning privacy codes within the selected channel.

The Scan icon will continue to be displayed when privacy code scan is on. Your radio will continue to scan privacy codes and stop as an incoming transmission is detected. Your radio will remain on that channel/privacy code for 10 seconds.

During scanning (while receiving an incoming transmission),you can choose from the following:

  • Press and hold SCAN button return to Standby mode.
  • Press and hold the PTT button to communicate on that channel/privacy code. Your radio will remain on that channel/privacy code and return to Standby mode.
  • Press the Up or Down button to resume scanning privacy codes. If you do not press any button within 10 seconds, your radio will automatically resume scanning privacy codes.

NOAA All Hazards Radio Channels
You can use your radio to listen to NOAA All Hazards Radio channels transmitting in your area.

To listen to All Hazards Radio channels:

  1. Press and hold the Weather( ) button until the All Hazards Radio icon and the currently selected All Hazards Radio channel are displayed.
  2. Use the Up or Down button to change All Hazards Radio channels.
  3. The All Hazards Radio icon will continue to be displayed when All Hazards Radio is on.
  4. To exit All Hazards Radio, press and hold the Weather button until On or Off is displayed.

Weather (WX) Alert Mode
Turning On the Weather Alert function will allow your radio to automatically receive NOAA Hazard Alert radio signals and warnings from designated NOAA broadcast stations. If the radio is turned ON, it will alert to Weather and other emergency alerts broadcast by NOAA.

This feature is set to OFF by default.

Make sure the strongest Weather channel is selected for your area using the channel selection in the previous menu.

To turn Weather Alert On or Off:

  1. Press and hold the Weather( ) button until the All Hazards Radio icon and the currently selected All Hazards Radio channel are displayed.
  2. Press the MENU/Power button until the Weather Alert icon flashes on the display. The current On or Off setting is displayed.
  3. Press the Up and Down button to turn Weather Aler On or Off.
  4. Press and hold the Weather button again to save the new setting and exit the Weather Alert Mode and return to Standby mode. The Weather Alert icon show on the display when it turned on.

Easy Pairing

This feature allows a group of walkietalkie users to program all their walkie talkies to the same Channel and privacy code settings quickly walkie talkies to the same Channel and privacy code settings quickly and simultaneously. Any walkietalkie within the group can be designated as the “Leader’s walkie-talkie ” and have it’s Channel and privacy code settings transmitted to and copied by all the other walkie talkies in the group called “Members’ walkie talkies”.

Note: When the “Leader’s walkie-talkie ” has no privacy code feature,all walkie talkies in the group will have their privacy code set to zero. When the privacy code is set to zero, all transmissions on the selected channel will be heard,regardless of the transmitting radio privacy code setting.

  1. Pick any of the walkie talkies as the “Leader’s walkietalkie”. On this walkietalkie, program the Channel and privacy code to the desired settings. See “Selecting the Channel” and “Selecting the privacy code” sections in this user manual. The privacy code for your radio is fixed at zero and cannot be programmed.

  2. To copy the channel and privacy code combination to all the other “Members’ walkie talkies”, press and hold the button “ ” on the Members’ walkie talkies” until you hear a beep. Release the button after the beep, and wait for the transmission from the
    “Leader’s walkietalkie.”

  3. The process to turn it off is the same as turning it on, just press the “ ” button, that’s it.
    Note:

    • You will see the icon ” Group” on the display. This confirms that the walkietalkie is in Easy Pairing mode waiting to receive the Channel and privacy code settings from the “Leader’s walkietalkie”. All
      “Leader’s walkietalkie” will remain in this mode for three minutes.

    • A group with many radios should have all users take this step at the same time, so all radios can be programmed together.

  4. On the “Leader’s radio”, press and hold down the button until you hear a double beep

Reset Guide

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Keep pressing the power button and at the same time install the battery to turn on, the channel will be reset to 01.
  3. Afte r making sure that the r eset is successful, please set to the same main channel and privacy code, for example (07, CTCSS 11) can only work with (07, CTCSS 11), but not talk to (07, DCS 11).
