Product Information
The NPX54500-PB Extreme Duty 3 Catback Exhaust is designed to fit Nissan Y62 Patrol Series 1-5 vehicles. Product Usage Instructions
Before You Start
- Make sure the vehicle has cooled down before starting any work.
- Use the exhaust mounts provided in the fitting kit to avoid fitting issues.
- Check that you have received all the parts required before removing your factory exhaust. If any parts are missing, contact Redback Support.
During Fitment
- During the initial fit, loosely attach all the parts to ensure correct alignment of the exhaust.
- Apply exhaust silicone between gaskets and flanges.
- Use an exhaust hanger removal tool and silicon-based lubricant for easier installation.
Exhaust Maintenance and Care
- Regularly clean your exhaust to extend its lifespan.
- Touch up your Redback Exhaust with heat-proof extreme duty paint to maintain its improved aesthetic.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Remove the rear tail pipe from the vehicle.
- Remove the Muffler Assembly from the vehicle and retain the bolts that secure the engine pipe to the catalytic converters.
- Remove the genuine exhaust rubber hangers.
- Fit replacement exhaust rubber hangers and fit the rear replacement bracket using OE bolts. Rehang the OE rear rubber hanger.
- Fit the 3 bolt bracket for the hanger.
- Fit the passenger side engine pipe to the catalytic converter using the previously retained bolts (finger tight).
- Fit the driver side engine pipe to the catalytic converter using the previously retained bolts.
- Connect the engine pipes together using four M8 x 1.25 x 35mm bolts, four M8 washers, and tighten M8 x 1.25 nuts (finger tight).
- Fit the center Muffler Option to the connector pipe using four M8 x 1.25 x 35mm bolts, four M8 flat washers, and tighten M8 x 1.25 nuts (finger tight).
- Fit the Rear Intermediate to Muffler Option using four M8x1.25x35mm bolts, M8 flat washers, and M8x1.25 nuts (tighten finger tight).
- Fit the Diff pipe to the Rear Intermediate using two M10x1.5x40mm bolts, M10 flat washers, and M10x1.5 nuts. Mount intermediate rubber hanger.
- Fit the Rear Muffler loosely in the OE Hanger using four 8×1.25x35mm bolts, M8 flat washers, and M8x1.25 nuts.
- Tighten all bolts and nuts from back to front, ensuring all the flanges are aligned with each other, and maintain the position of the exhaust tip.

During fitment
- On the initial fit of your exhaust, fit all the parts loosely to ensure the exhaust is correctly aligned.
- Use exhaust silicone between gaskets (both sides) and flanges.
- Using an exhaust hanger removal tool and silicon-based lubricant is recommended.
Exhaust Maintenance and Care
- It is recommended that you regularly clean your exhaust to extend its life span.
- We also recommended touching up your Redback Exhaust to maintain the improved aesthetic with heat proof extreme duty paint.
Ensure that the fitting instructions are read and understood prior to fitment.
Step-By-Step Instructions

Remove rear tail pipe from vehicle.

Remove Muffler Assembly from the Vehicle and retain bolts that secures engine pipe to catalytic Converters.

Remove the Genuine Exhaust Rubber Hangers

Fit replacement exhaust rubber hangers, Fit the Rear Replacement Bracket using OE Bolts and Rehang the OE Rear Rubber Hanger (REF Image C ) Fit 3 bolt Bracket for hanger ( Ref Image A )

Fit Passenger side engine pipe to Catalytic Converter using previously retained bolts finger tight. Ref Image A

Fit driver side engine pipe to Catalytic Converter using previously retained bolts.

Connect Engine pipes together using four M8 x 1.25 x 35mm Bolts, Four M8 washer, tighten M8 x 1.25 nuts, finger tight.

Fit centre Muffler Option to the connector pipe using four M8 x 1.25 x 35mm bolts, four M8 flat washers, tighten M8x 1.25 nuts finger tight.

Fit Rear Intermediate to Muffler Option using four M8x1.25x35mm bolts, M8 flat washers, M8x1.25 nuts tighten finger tight. Ref Image B

Fit Diff pipe to Rear Intermediate Using Two M10x1.5x40mm bolts ,M10 flat washers, M10x1.5 nuts. Mount intermediate Rubber Hanger.

Fit Rear Muffler loosely in the OE Hanger Using four 8×1.25x35mm bolts ,M8 flat washers, M8x1.25 nuts.

Tighten all bolts and nuts from Back to Front ensuring all the flanges are lined up with each other maintaining the position of the exhaust tip. Ref Image D
